Trump announces 35% tariffs on Canada starting Aug. 1
BTDT replied to CdnFox's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
If the dollar was at par, I would leave this sh*thole of a country and move to the US. So many of my friends have and despite what you hear on the news, they are doing far better than we are. For starters, they are not being taxed to death and living in a dictatorship where some clown of a PM comes up with Bills that nobody asked for. -
Incredibly when I stated that he (Brian Thompson) had it coming, people could not believe it. This was a guy that indirectly killed people with the highest denials in a health care insurance company dragging things on, so why would I give a sh*t? All for profit and shareholders! Middle finger extended!

Impossible! The wife of an aquaintance some months ago said that "she hated Trump". I asked her why. She responded, "well I don't know much about him or politics, but I hate him". All I could do is 🙄 but then it is understandable as they are both Liberals and both overpaid and underworked public servants. Her husband was in the CF.

Trump announces 35% tariffs on Canada starting Aug. 1
BTDT replied to CdnFox's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Yup, still waiting for those tariffs to hit me. I have not seen anything go up by 25% or 35% in any of my shopping. In fact, having been to the US a few times since Trump's tariffs took over, I have not been charged on anything I brought back that was even made in the USA. Stop listening to bullsh*t CBC and get a life! Do any of you people have hobbies or do you spend all your time on here 24/7? I was busy this weekend. -
I do not have an issue with EVs as long as di*khead Justin Trudeau or di*khead Mark Carney does not come out with an unreal policy that all cars shall be EVs in a few years because both of them have absolutely no background in anything to make that decision.

The 2023 report listed coal, but does it matter if it is 1st, 2nd or 3rd or 4th. Canola was 1st. I never saw a 2024 report, but then what do you expect from a bunch of overpaid and underworked Public Servants working from home doing SDA.

Don't know, but was he pushing Net-Zero? I don't recall him saying so and I have a good memory. I hate double standards and aren't they always put out by those that have. I remember seeing DH Charles stating "you'll have nothing and be happy". Sure no problem, right after Charles gives up his creature comforts, I'll be right in line. Give up you castles, your cars and get a real job. Effing Monarchy!
-
And neither did DH Trudeau. Look lets face it, Liberals live in Fantasy Land. What really needs to happen is for the PM to be affected directly. Then maybe the laws will change. I am a firm beiever in the 2nd, the stand your ground law and the castle doctrine. Break into my home, good luck! Don't know if this link will work as I am not an Instagram user (or Facebook, etc), but it was sent to me by a friend and I was able to open it. Bail...

Apparently you are not very good at reading. I said second biggest export to China, not the first simply because of the link to the article.
-
1. So he is the PM and as useless as the last one? That makes him what...God? I guess you believe in Kings and Queens thinking they are far better than the people. 2. But he was and made decisions there. 3. Was Carney mentioned in those articles? If not, how convenient!

If someone is pushing Net-Zero, then they should be following their rule and not taking flights all over the place or being driven around in gas powered vehicles. Practice what you preach! In fact, instead of flying here and there, use the internet and Zoom for meetings. But I came across this after a friend informed me of it. What is Canada's second biggest export to China? Coal! And how is Carney involved? Brookfield now has a 49% stake in coal in Australia, down from a 100% some years ago. And then Brookfield also got involved in Rockwood Health Care where the coal miners are being denied claims. What else is new as I have no use for banks and insurance companies. One of the reasons why I had no pity for Brian Thompson's shooting last December of United Health Care with a denial rate of 34%. Unfortunately, it seems we just can't see news like this on Canada's Progaganda Channel aka CBC. Carney in the coal mine...

The fact that you brought up the CBC proves that. Back in April I was at a farewell luncheon for my supervisor. Half way though it, his replacement walked in and happened to sit across from me. Somehow we got onto travelling to the US (he was taking a cruise with his family from the US) and how he was worried that the US Border Officials would confiscate his mobile phone. I just had to roll my eyes and told him, "stop watching CBC". Sure, they might have confiscated one mobile phone from a questionable person and we all know that main stream media loves to sensationalize everything. In March and April of this year, I crossed over at least three times into the US to buy US made products and I didn't even get tariffed on any of them. In fact I did not even get charged HST. You want an ulcer, watch main stream media news aka BS news.

Illegal immigration and its costs are paid for by the tax payer. In other words, it is a charity. Let the whining Democrats take the illegals into theor own home and pay all the associated expenses out of their own pocket. Governments should look after their own.

I was in Montreal at the time going through school. But onto the above comment you made that I bolded, I have to laugh when a Canadian on YouTube who is pulling his suspenders out in pride states that "we have the best education system in the world" amongst other silly statements that he made such as "we have the best healthcare system in the world". Obviously a Liberal living in Fantasy Land. You know when you are trying to show your "pride", at least get your facts straight because it is quite obvious to me that that that person never travelled outside of Canada. I have to several countries.

But we did buy 4 totally useless submarines from the Brits and you do not want to know what the overall cost was and still going strong. I have a friend who was ex-Navy working on them. The Brits moth-balled them a few years after they were built. What does that tell you? I remember being in Halifax and Esquimalt when two of them were in dry dock being upgraded. Talk about a make-work project pi$$ing your tax dollars away. And every time we get equipment, we always need to Canadianize them (in order to create jobs in Canada) and they are almost always a total failure. Buy "off the shelf" items that are proven to work, who cares where they are made in another NATO country. The CF guys in the field will thank you for stuff that works!

Reading comments on the internet, there are a lot of very delusional people out there. Usually people that are part of the system and getting a nice fat government pay cheque that love to wave their flag. All I need to do is look at some of the Bills the government is passing without asking the people. I can bank on-line, so why can I not vote on major issues on-line?

What is wrong with enforcing border laws?
BTDT replied to Deluge's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Absolutely nothing. That is why we have passports. Unfortunately, many country leaders could not figure that out, Trudeau and Biden to name a couple. -
If you only knew how your tax dollars are pi$$ed away by our government, you would puke. You should have seen the waste at DND. But governments are all the same. When it is not your money, it is easy to spend it. Just look at the House of Commons; they vote in their own pay raises instead of asking us, the tax payer. Show me where that happens in the private sector where a commoner can do that.
