The Olympics Alienated Billions
CouchPotato replied to gatomontes99's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
He doesn't expect them to be woke to his feelings. He said he is done watching. The woman at the middle of the table made an instagram post referring to it as the Last Supper, then she deleted that post. No one is expecting them to be woke. But you know they would not do a gay Mohammed, nor would they represent any other religion this way. In fact, it appears that the Olympics is so secular that they demanded a Brazilian surfer not use a surf board with an image of Jesus on it. So if they expect Christians to be so woke about their displays of the Christian faith... well then.... -
I watched that whole speech. He was talking to a group of Christians, and he said that they don't vote enough. He told them they had to get and vote this time, even though some of them prefer not to. Then, they won't have to. I don't expect Trump will weaponize the justice system the way Democrats have.

I am not saying it's a loving relationship. I am saying if they can spin the other stuff, they can spin that. It's a bad look. You call a woman a skank, and they have a lot more ammo to turn her into a victim than if you attack her on the issues. Trump is doing well enough. Nobody cares who he slept with. I'd imagine Trump had some help getting women specifically because he has money. People are not going to care that much about Kamala. Politicians having scandalous behavior isn't a shocker, especially if it's not affecting people now.

Yes, they will do that. But I think that the economy speaks for itself. People feel it. And if you level a personal attack about a relationship 20 years ago, you not only risk looking very cheap -- The media will do the exact same thing and spin it the way they like. She is a wonderful person. This was a loving relationship. How dare Trump attack her on something like this?

He sounds like he is just trying to make a tough, smart comeback here but he is too addled to come up with anything. This is one thing though people never point out enough about Biden. His volatile attitude. Trump called people names. But more than once at town halls, Biden asked people who were giving him a hard time if they wanted to "step outside".

The thing is, myata. We don't buy your assessment of things. You have every right to have your assessment, but your arguments are not convincing us. Saying over and over that your view is the obvious one, and that it's the reality does nothing for your cause. What you fail to see is that many of us see the Democrat party as a lie machine. We think they have degraded themselves, but moreso. We've seen them use law fair against political opponents. We've seen them label parents who protest at schoolboards as a domestic terrorist threat. We've seen the IRS weaponized. We've seen them pretend that a man who was clearly suffering from dementia for years was absolutely fine. Nothing to see here. That was truly surreal. We see all of that, and we see that there are two choices. Of the two, we see the Democrats as far worse.

Its official - the shooter was a democrat.

Overall, I think the important thing to note about this kid is that, like many mentally ill people on the left or right, he is not a Trump supporter. -

I don't have to go to any great length to do so. People can be disgusted by things. People can express that. That is not out of the ordinary. It's not like he is demanding a safe space. It's not like he is attempting to silence their expression. No one will be dragged before a human rights panel like they did with Ezra for printing cartoons. OP doesn't like it, he changes the channel. Pretty consistent with what we've been telling snowflakes for years. -

Are you referring to your assertion that he would applaud if Islam were mocked? Pretty weak argument. You have no idea he would. I doubt he would even expect such a thing to happen because it won't. There is another double standard concerning whether or not they would actually do something to offend Islamists. I think the Olympics ought to be held to a higher standard than someone on a forum, don't you? -

No one is crying. The OP said he was done with the Olympics. That's not snowflake behavior. You don't like what you hear, change the channel. People on the left seem incapable of this. -

You don't know that. Though, I suspect some people would applaud. But it hasn't happened. We likely won't be seeing it happen, either. People notice that it's fair game to mock Christianity. I could care less about the Olympics, but it is a major global event. It's pretty unprofessional considering they wouldn't do it to anyone else. The thing is no one here is being very snowflakey about it. They are saying it is disgusting. They aren't asking for compensation. Half the thread has been about whether it was actually mockery or not. No one is hauling anyone before a human rights panel the way they did with Ezra. Christians are right to point out the double standard in a world that claims to be secular and neutral on these things. -
I was a really weird kid. I still am very weird I guess. I don't know if I'd ever hold my own in a fight. I think I learned really well how to disarm people with words, though. I was an anxious kid, but at the same time I wasn't shy. In a room full of people feeling awkward, I am often the one who breaks the ice. Oh, and I was also pretty sneaky and weasel-y. Not in an underhanded way. But I could weasel out of things, and when ever I sensed trouble I was good at slinking away unnoticed.

My tastes get narrower as I get older. My ears like music that is less aggressive now. Also my tastes get less complex. When I listen to classical music now, I prefer simplicity over complexity. I play guitar, banjo and some mandolin.
