All excessive force is unnecessary. Not all unnecessary actions are excessive force. -
Who will win the Presidential Debate?

ABC already has the talking points. Expect Harris to say she's taking a humane approach on the border. That must have tested well. -

But nothing you described, in detail, rises to excessive. If anything, you've described unnecessary actions. But you haven't described excessive actions. -

None of that is excessive. It just isn't. Your insistence that it is is baffling. -

I posted the definition and the list of things considered excessive. Nothing in that video indicates excessive force. -

Now that we have the unfounded whataboutism out of the way, Harris is plagiarizing the plagiarizing Biden. The irony is so delicious. -

So, no? If you are talking about the woman that sued him in Cali, that was dismissed. The second attempt was in NY. She claimed she got threats, but no proof was ever produced. Her allegations centered around Trump being in the Epstein files. But Trump is saying he's not opposed to releasing the files, so that poors some cold water on that. -

As a Chiefs fan, I agree. I loved his abilities on the field and I just cringed at the person he is off the field. It's one of those things that is pretty much a law. You should idolize ideals and not people. Ideals won't let you down but people always will. -
Debate 10 Sep 2024: Thoughts Before
gatomontes99 replied to August1991's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Elections are about soundbites and snapshots. Whomever has the best line that makes the other look bad will have a big advantage. That said, there is very little she can say that will make him look bad. Most of his "problems" are largely believed to be political attacks from the WH. He can, however, point to her flip flopping. I would love his opening statement to say something like "The most exciting debate tonight will be between Harris today and Harris last year." -

Uh huh. I'm sure you have tons of irrefutable evidence that it happened. -

So they should have turned their backs on a guy that was concealing what he was doing? Does that sound even remotely like a good idea? -
Apparently she even copied and pasted a part that said reelect Joe Biden.

Why are you being so overly dramatic about this? I've seen the body cam. Neither side looked pure. But this isn't nearly as aggressive or bad as you make it out to be. -

Bullspit. You've never been pulled over and refused to roll down your tinted window. If you had, they would have said something. -
Tariffs are a Tax on Americans
gatomontes99 replied to Rebound's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
There is no such thing as an untargetted tariff. All tariffs (at a minimum) target imported goods. No one is proposing that broad of a tariff. At most, the tariffs are targetted at a country or a set of countries. -

I think Tyreek would have been just fine of he hadn't been kind of a pr1ck. Next time, leave the window down, give them the license and insurance and if you get a ticket, pay it or argue with the judge. Areguing with the cop and not following lawful commands will get you cuffed. Think of it from the cop's perspective. They have no idea what is going on behind that tinted glass. He could have pulled a gun. It was for everyone's safety that he keep the window down. And the b.s. lie about just having knee surgery so he can't sit. Give me a break. He can't sit but he can run 22 mph and score a touchdown? Now. C'mon man. For his part, the cop did let Tyreek get to him. He probably could have been a little less of a dick. But Tyreek did it to himself. -

Tariffs are a Tax on Americans
gatomontes99 replied to Rebound's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
All taxes are paid by the end user. I'm glad the left is finally acknowledging that. What sets tariffs apart from taxes is that they are unequal between competing parties. If you have a US car manufacturer and...let's say...a Chinese car manufacturer and we place a tariff on the Chinese manufacturer, the Chinese manufacturer has an additional cost to the final consumer. Now, we also need to talk about price elasticity when we talk about any tax (a tariff is a tax). The consumer will only pay a set amount for a given product. When the price is below that amount, the consumer readily buys the product. When the price is above that amount, the consumer is more hesitant. With that in mind, if a tariff drives the cost to the manufacturer to an amount that is higher than the consumers' tolerance, the manufacturer will have to use less expensive materials, labor or shipping to be competitive. If the cost is increased to what other manufactuers' costs are, then they are now on at equal cost and price to consumer. Since tariffs target foreign manufacturers, the domestic benefits are to domestic manufacturers, their employees and suppliers. So, if we put a 100% tariff on Chinese made electric cars than domesticly produced electric cars would benefit. The reason we have to do that is that China takes money from their citizens to give to the manufacturer so that they have a competitive advantage. Further, China suppress wages and plays games with the value of the Yen to create even larger advantages. This is why both Canada and the US put tariffs on Chinese made electric cars. Both countries did it with very liberal leaders taking up the cause. Blaming Trump or faulting Trump for championing that idea in 2016 and today is as hypocritical as it gets. -
Of course they mention mass deportation...YALL FU$%!NG LET IN EVERY CRIMINAL SOUTH OF THE BORDER!!!!! They both mention it because it is absolutely necessary to the safety of the American people. Did you miss the 75% OF ARRESTS IN NYC ARE ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS???!!! One policy does not mean they are symbiotic. It means they are on the same page as that one policy. Meanwhile, Harris wants to drop oil prices by undoing the policies that her and Joe put into place. I don't believe her. I don't believe her for one second. She's going to keep doing things to drive up costs. She going to keep letting criminals, fentanyl and trafficked children to cross the border. She's going to continue using NGOs to censor ideas. She's going to continue to support Hamas, Iran and Russia. She's a train wreck.
