Another Conservative Defects to Carney
CdnFox replied to BeaverFever's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
One of the fundamental problems with democratic representation is that all too often the public forgets with their job is and puts blinders on and that is definitely what has happened with the left these days I'm reminded of a scene from The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: I'ts a planet ruled by lizards and the lizards are very mean to the humans. Wait i thought you said it was a democracy? It is. They why the hell do they keep voting in the lizards? Because if they don't the WRONG lizard might get in. -
So not only can you not address her comments but you couldn't address my comments either so you're asking me about her comments and to address her comments because you couldn't I'm sure there's a way to look more pathetic, but it would probably involve a research grant to figure it out I've said no such thing. So now you're just making stuff up that i've said ? Wow. You pulled it of without the research grant! Impressive! OF course, the cbc doesn't report on that kind of thing and lib supporters like you don't care either way

Marco Rubio or JD Vance

Yeah, I remember the old jack Layton comment where people said even if you didn't like his politics he'd be a great guy to have a beer with. When I see any of the current contenders for the democrats having a beer with him isn't what pops into my mind. I find myself thinking more along the lines of lions and arenas. -
A Wealth Tax Would Severely Harm The Economy
CdnFox replied to gatomontes99's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
It is a horrible idea and violates the principle that money should only be taxed once. In addition people will avoid it by various means, but that will have negative effects as well. -
Can't come up with an argument huh? We accept your admission of defeat

Another Conservative Defects to Carney

That's all well and good but at the end of the day if poilievre loses even one more person I think he's done. Either you can hold your caucus together or you can't, and even though I feel he would make the best prime minister by far if he can't motivate his caucus to stay with him then he has to go. I think that'll be a Tragedy but at the end of the day it is what it is. The leader has one primary job and that's to recruit and keep a good caucus and right now he's bleeding. He basically let carney take a majority government that he didn't earn. How disgusting the left is till the cows come home but we have to win or else nothing changes. And we're not going to win with the leaders bleeding caucus support. Anything else we could have cope with but if people are crossing the floor that's a problem -
Another Conservative Defects to Carney

Her constituents are outside our office right now threatening to burn it down Yeah that's a load of crap. But I'm sure a number of them are worried that they will not get to be a majority government. They feel the liberals have outplayed the conservatives and they are worried that they will spend four more years in opposition only to lose again in the future. So they're crossing the floor to a greener pasture where they'll make far more money and actually have a little bit of power. I still think that's detestable but one can see how someone could be lured by the prospect of almost double pay and being able to get something done -
But you know what? At least they're CONSISTANT!!! And consistancy is what this country needs today!!!! (Meet the moment!) - The CBC, probably.

This is the problem. The NDP did well when they could appeal to blue collar workers and say we're going to fight for you Now they're just fighting for whatever pops into their little heads. And only for people who have the appropriate equity cards. (white males can just go die somewhere). It's possible they may survive to see a Resurgence someday but I truly doubt it. I think they're cooked just like the green party after Lizzie May left

Based on the latest polling, maybe as many as 12!

Marco Rubio or JD Vance
CdnFox replied to WestCanMan's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
That won't matter that much 3 years from now. While people may have a somewhat positive or negative impression events over the next 3 years, they will mostly associate him with trump. If trump's star is still shining at that point Vance will have a severe advantage. If not, Rubio's got a real shot by claiming that he is still a fan of trump's better policies but will bring them forward in a more stable in adult way or some sort of argument along those lines. Even if you think trump is great you can't argue that he's made for something of an unstable government and people may crave stability. That was Biden's big selling point We will see. A lot can happen in 3 years but I think it's going to boil down to whether or not people felt trump was a success in the end or whether they felt that he was just too much I don't know who they're going to put forward but I can tell what their campaign is going to be already based on the democrats during and after the last election HEHEHEHEEHEHEHE Trump bad! Bad man! Nazi! All supporters are nazi!!! Many are white males white males BAAAAD!!! Vote Happy!!! And good luck with that. I see no sign the dems are moving towards putting someone serious forward and nobody's interested in the 'basket of deplorables' vote -
building Chinese cars here in Canada....
CdnFox replied to Army Guy's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Were you referring to your post? That seems to be all you bring to the table these days -
If everyone was as smart as me then everyone would be laughing at you instead of just almost all the people LOL Well I really appreciate you taking a few minutes to prove that you're nowhere near as smart as me We cannot replace the trade we've lost with America through international sources anytime this decade. We could if we focused Domestic trade however. But that would take some severe leadership and wouldn't be as popular Honestly if you were half as smart as you think you are you'd still be twice as smart as you actually are

It's inevitable at this point. He will have his majority We'll have to see what the provinces do. But I'll make note of your prediction, I don't know Quebec politics well enough to dispute or agree with you strongly

building Chinese cars here in Canada....
CdnFox replied to Army Guy's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Even carney isn't for it. But not talking about actually building cars here, they're talking about the Chinese sending kits with mostly completed cars and the final assembly is done here much like Ikea furniture. Auto people hate it because there be no jobs of any consequence, the parts people hate it because there won't be any parts supplies and the government doesn't like it because they will be extremely hated by the auto sector if they even try it because it would only be a matter of time until Volkswagen and Toyota Etc got the same idea I doubt it'll go ahead. The government really really doesn't like it -
See my post about the internment camps Dying was the best thing he did for Canada A hell of a lot of Canadians retire there, not surprised
-
Wow, you must REALLY think you lost bad to be this triggered by simple facts Kid a 12-year-old can easily understand the point. The fact that you're pretending you can't suggest you're having an emotional breakdown because I'm right and you can't refute it. This is as simple as it gets. We're losing trade with the states. This is a bad thing. As you pointed out we could look to other countries to replace some of that but it really doesn't work. We could also be doing a lot more internally to improve our trade within Canada and that would help a lot more It doesn't get more simple. The fact that you're hyperventilating and freaking out like a child is because you don't like the truth, not because the truth is hard to understand

Marco Rubio or JD Vance
CdnFox replied to WestCanMan's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
A lot of it will depend on how trump leaves his office, whether he still liked or despised. There's no doubt that Vance is going to wear trump's record the people are done with Trump Mania he's going to have an uphill battle and Rubio will be able to present himself as the so-called adults in the room that will lead to a more stable presidency. If trump is still life and respected then Vance will have a bit of an advantage Of course it also depends on who the opponent is. That makes a bigger difference in people think and who the other side is going to choose as they're running candidate -
You mean Mackenzie King? Get along? FFS He's the guy that started the Japanese internment camps Having said that I think Carney's going to do more harm than even that
-
Dude I have told you a million times that those internal voices are not your friends

Chronic problem. This is why you see threads about how the left these days are cultists You, as a right-wing person, can believe a thing and I can disagree with that thing and we can have a nice strong fun passionate discussion about it and have on a number of occasions and at the end of the day shake hands and move on. Both of us have even conceded points, noting that a thing the other believed was correct even though perhaps they didn't agree with the overall argument the other was making and emotionally we're not shattered. The left on the other hand simply denies facts and yells and puts their fingers in their ears and buries their head and hums and then comes back and repeats the same lies but now they've rewritten the conversation in their head to try and convince themselves they somehow won Like Chrissy is doing with you right now on the other thread and she was doing with me for quite a while as well And here we see it again. There was a time when I was growing up and I would sit down with some very intelligent people on the left and have absolutely great and incredible conversations that were frequently passionate and even heated but at the end of which we could conceive each other's points agree to disagree on the opinion parts shake hands and eat dinner together Nowadays the left one overturn the table the moment they heard you disagreed, scream like banshees, and demand that someone come and punch you because you are a Nazi for disagreeing.
