Well you'll have to ask the ndp gov't of bc - they're in charge of mental health in bc and have been for 7 years but have done nothing. You realize it's not a federal responsibility right? Harper btw actually tried to push several initiatives on mental health reform. it was a pet project of his. But - he can't tell the provinces what to do, You're complaining to the wrong party.

More Liberal lies about the carbon taxes...
CdnFox replied to Army Guy's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I think it's probably even more simple that that - gov'ts need taxes but people hate them. So with a few lies they've created a tax that people are HAPPY to pay - and even better they get to be seen to be giving the people money! How many people do you think are so stupid they get that refund cheque and say "god i really needed this money right now - thanks Carbon tax liberal gov't!" Without realizing they'd have HAD more money if there was no tax. It's just a new way to increase taxes without blowback from the public. If you complain about the tax you're an evil climate denier and you're trying to kill our children. -
But if you do you can't complain we never take it in a direction So.. letting them out on the street to wander around until they kill again is "right"? How? Well it's true that the conservatives have been in power now for 7 years and things have only gotten worst. OH... wait.... Letting mentally ill people who are excessively and repeatedly violent out on the streets to kill again is even MORE nuts. You seem to have compassion for violent people with mental heath issues. It's just a shame you don't have any for their dead victims.

well.... i mean, technically..... -
"Crap" is subjective. You can't measure the success of a leader on subjective grounds. There is no common 'crap-o-meter' we can use to make an apples to apples comparison In your world a bad leader who does something you like s a good leader. In mine one who leads well and achieves their stated goals and is a good steward is a good leader even if he does crap i don't like. Trudeau? Yes and found guilty a few times now. Unfortunately the ethics commissioner is the only one who has authority there, the cops litearlly said they were sure he broke the law but they didn't charge because the prime minister can give himself permission to do that. They wanted to lose the drama and though that they'd still get the jobs and the economy would be solid and the covid response would be better with biden. Of course - none of that has turned out to be true. But they DID lose a lot of the drama - so, score on that front. No they can't . Did you even read the decisions and the rationale? Gay marriage has a very solid case in the constitution for SEVERAL solid reasons, any one of which would be enough to say it's covered. Abortion is a medical procedure - and it was simply never enshrined in the constituton. There's a section of the constituion that basically is a catch all for things that didn't exist in their day that would come up later - gay marriage totally fits that but abortion doesn't any more than a colonoscopy would. It was always VERY contentious law. Gay marriage is not. THat's just a fear tactic. well that's your opinion - but that's not a constitutional right and nor is it any kind of 'freedom stuff'. It's a medical treatment. There is no constitutional right to free medical treatment. That IS protected by the constitution. So different story. Well... actually to be precise it basically says you either allow it for everyone or scrap it for everyone. But - basically same thing. So you're saying the people don't want it. Well... sorry, but ... I see no difference between those who pray to the bible and those who pray to the church of the left. It absolutely is. Neither pfizer nor moderna could have done it without trump's plan. Sorry - but that is fact and history. Look at it more closely. He did better than almost every other president in his first term. Covid aside. That is because it was so bad for so long. You can't look at it one month at a time. It started early, rose to incredible hights and stayed there for a long time, and is now beginning to drop because the damage has already been done to their economy and high interest rates are helping bring that under control. The cost will be a recession. THere was nothing we were going to do to avoid higher than target inflation. But - biden's policies undoubtedly accounted for several points of that inflation. it was far higher and far longer than it needed to be, which means interest rates had to climb higher to address it, and that will hurt the economy more over time. It's the same in canada - the BoC acknowledges that there is a DIRECT inflation increase of 1.5 percent directly due to trudeau's finacial policy and carbon tax and then you have to start looking at the very potent indirect effects which add up ot somewhere in the realm of 3 percent more at various times. So - instead of hitting 8 percent inflation we should have been closer to 4 or the like, must lower. And food was hit worst by his nonsense and we're STILL seeing insane inflation there. Here's the simple version of inflation, which milton said is 'always and everywhere a monetary issue'. You CANNOT put 'unearned' dollars into the economy without creating inflation. You simply can't.

Ontario needs to invest in EVs as a realistic Option.

They still produce some of the worlds highest levels of CO. They have a LOT of coal power. Sure - not blaming them, just pointing out where the coal goes. -
All gov'ts have scandals. NOT all gov'ts have corruption, or tolerate it when someone in their party does. There is an important difference. Scandal is often a matter of opinion. Consider 'fake lake' with harper - that was pretty much bullshit. They made a nice little scene was was appropriate and someone made fun of it and turned it into a 'scandal' but there was nothing actually wrong with it. Or proroguing parliament - a HUGGGGEE scandal! When harper does it anyway - totally normal when EVERY OTHER PM IN HISTORY does it, and justin has and is considering it now. Scandals are one thing. You can't be in gov't and avoid that. But .... corruption is different. That is a whole level of wrong. Accepting paper envelopes full of cash under the table at a restaurant is WRONG. Pressuring the minister of justice unlawfully to try to force them to drop criminal charges is wrong. And as canadians we should ALWAYS seek to utterly destroy parties that partake in actual corruption. The PC started to go that way and were destroyed. The ndp got caught up in corruption issues in BC and were all but wiped out. That is exactly how we should behave. But liberal voters especially federally seem to be very very tolerant of corruption and that's not a good thing. Harper's assistant provided a loan. And the senates' money is the taxpayer's money. I'd love to see someone pressure justin to pay back the gov'ts money he's taken Well if your point is that nobody's perfect then sure. Conceded. But - like i said, there's a difference between 'scandal' and 'corruption'. Corruption should always be punishable by (political) death. True. Not saying your defending the libs. We all agree i think that what she did was not the right thing. And honestly i blame trudeau more than her - if he's encouraging her and saying 'no problem, we'll put in checks and balances no sweat" or the like then i can see her caving. But - it smaks of something bordering on whataboutism to suggest that somehow it's all ok because "all" politicians are corrupt. They are not - layton wasn't, harper wasn't.

Neither are ideal. I don't think that's the 'final form' of either to be honest. The tech still evolving and we're almost but not quite there for wide spread adaption. Basically we could more accurately say that its between a "new fuel and new storage" option for electricity. Sure - obviously that has advantages - there are some advantages to 'electrified fuel' shall we call it. We'll see how it goes. I think batteries will get there before electric fuel does but i could be wrong. Well - just to be contrarian the former NDP premier of bc who just stepped down last year just joined the board of a coal mining company and the cities have been fighting back against the use of natural gas in many areas, to the point where in vancouver the gov't was actualy accused of 'banning' natural gas. I dunno - ndp supporting coal and the right wing party against natural gas, dogs and cats sleeping together, who knows what's next. -
You're involivng yourself in a discussion about this accusation. I never claimed YOU accused him. Don't be so sensitive. And there's no 'decision', he very clearly wasn't employing the guy while or after he committed fraud. Where did i do that. i simply said he didn't 'hire a fraudster', which was the accusation. Oh you mean the one where he pressured someone to GIVE BACK MONEY TO THE TAXPAYERS?!? You know what - i'm ok with more of that kind of scandal I would love it if someone forced Justin to repay the trillion dollars or so he's spent You're veering off the topic to just attack harper. And harper was demonstrably better than trudeau. You can't play the game where if someone takes an office pen home then it's the same as embezzling a million dollars. Harper was't perfect but he was never corrupt. Trudeau is corrupt. Period. Harper fired someone from the cabinet for buying 14 dollar orange juice. That's who he was. Justin just appointed the relative of someone who'd already had to be investigated by the ethics commission to be head of it - after he's been investigated how many times. That's the kind of person he is. There's a difference.

Pierre Pollivre would like to speak with you please For some, sure and i think they should have that as a choice they can choose from. But you can't make that as a sweeping statement. Because lots of people don't want the best cars. Seriously - people have already mentioned this many times. The best you can say is "considering this, it makes sense that people have this option to consider". Well - another ice car would ALSO reduce the wear and tear on your existing car LOL They're good for some people. I'm glad they are an option. They're PROBABLY the way of the future unless the problems of hydrogen get solved. But they are a little niche still. -
Harper was no saint, but lets not accuse him of things that never happened either ?e And harper did nothing wrong here in the slightest. People lobby the gov't all the time. The CPC did to not tell anyone to buy this guy's water machines - they were told it was something the First Nations were asking for and agreed that if the first nations wanted them and felt it would solve a problem then they would be willing to set up a frame work to pay for it. And when it was found that he'd been acting unscrupulously Harper called in the cops immediately. trying to claim that this proves "harper hired a fraudster" is simply not truthful. He wasn't his advisor tho, was he. If you read the article he'd worked for harper previous to any of this and wasn't working for the cpc at all at the time. So some guy who worked for harper once later goes on to commit fraud.... how is that 'harper hired a fraudster'. There's no need to lie in order to criticize harper. Some guy who worked for him previously went on to commit a crime one day. Wooooo.

How Canadians are being screwed by foreign workers
CdnFox replied to I am Groot's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
if your whole premise is that filling jobs with cheap labour drives the prices of labour down ... and the jobs AREN'T FILLED as the employment numbers show.. then you've got a problem with your theory. Doesn't hurt either as it turns out. But - he can always show his math and make a case. But he didnt. Nice story - show that this is what's happening. He doesn't. And i know the research doesn't support that so i know why he doesn't. But they don't in fact. Show me where what i posted suggests that. No, wages have grown about 1 percent more than inflation across most industries. The only reason it hasn't grown more is productivity but as we already discussed - PRODUCTIVITY IS NOT AN IMMIGRATION ISSUE. Already discussed. And you've made no case that gdp changes is the direct result of immigration - just because two things happen at the same time doesn't mean one is the cause of another. You have to make that direct connection and show it. No, it doesn't provide ANY information about productivity in the slightest. Workers are not paid based on productivity alone. A new canadian who is just as productive as a natural canadian will still get paid less for several reasons for a significant time after they arrive. Do i need to explain why that's dumb? I'm sure you've thought about it since you wrote it and realize why. Well they've had difficulty finding workers for 3 years and change and it wasn't easy before that. So... sounds like it's kind of more theory than reality. In reality what actually happened is a lot of businesses closed their doors or cut back operations and businesses that weren't profitable were shut down and those who could automate or find ways around labour issues survived. I've seen a LOT of business who used to provide more services to a wider area cut back on what and where they provide it to focus on core profit areas. It's been a real pain. We're talking about how they're irrelevant. Not sure why you'd be proud of that. As to 'dumbass' - aww little guy. Don't hate me because you're wrong. Quite a few actually. It depends on how well you speak the language, how much challenge your family is having at integrating etc. And there are still cultural differences that a mentor helps overcome. Things that are not done elsewhere but are regular here. If you don t now the differences and warn the person it causes tensions and 'learning experiences'. But the idea that ALL immigrants start at starbucks is pretty silly. Consider for example bc's previous and highly successful immigration deal with Filipino nurses. Worked amazing but was entirely driven by former filipino 'mentors' working with the nurses here to bring them up to speed on the differences in practice. A fair bit - see the starbucks reply. CORRECT!!!! THAT"S WHY THEY DON"T REALLY WANT IMMIGRANTS. The only reason they take immigrants is because they HAVE to and they pay more to attract natural canadians. THey don't like it at all. They don't like the cultural issues and frictions, they don't like the language barriers, they don't like their staff isolating into groups, they don't like the problems integrating them into work teams, they don't like that they don't have roots in the area that will make it less likely for them to pack up and leave, and they HATE that they don't have a track record they can look at before the hire. If there were enough naturalized canadians to fill all the jobs, the foreign workers would be screwed and unemployed. So - not affecting wages. You haven't provided a single scrap of evidence to suggest that wages are repressed by immigration. I provided a study by a nobel prize winning economist which proved they dont' using real world data. -
There's tonnes. We've gone over this. Do you look like a sealion or just choose to sound like one? No - holy shit how can you be this dumb!!! Atheism is the 100 percent belief there IS NO GOD Agnosticism is more of a lack of belief - there may or may not be a god but we don't know. Sigh - here - i'll do this ONE TIME for you. https://www.wordnik.com/words/atheism noun The doctrine that there is no God; denial of the existence of God. noun The denial of theism, that is, of the doctrine that the great first cause is a supreme, intelligent, righteous person. In other words its a positive belief - you assert there IS NO GOD. it is NOT a lack of belief - it's the doctrine of 'no god'. And Agnostics: https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/agnostic agnostic 1 : a person who holds the view that any ultimate reality (such as God) is unknown and probably unknowable broadly : one who is not committed to believing in either the existence or the nonexistence of God or a god 2 : a person who is unwilling to commit to an opinion about something political agnostics For gods sake - you can't get something THIS SIMPLE right? Anyway - you obviously are lying about trying to look up people on the left who tried to cancel others. I tell you what. You claim you looked and there just aren't any - how much will you pay me if i find one on the first page of a google search? I'll send you the link so you know it's valid - are you willing to put your money where your mouth is? Lets say 100 bucks, how about that? I'm sure we can find a neutral third party. In fact - i bet one of the first results is a list of TWELVE such people - so twelve for one! So.... lets bet shall we? No? Hmmm - imagine that. Yeah - Liar. So stop being triggered and quit spreading hate about men or whites or conservatives... oh and jews, i forgot that one. You had that weird anti-jew phase where you kept trying to blame them for things.
-
No you're not. I think we both know that. It's a big hunk of the problem with you. No, agnostic is a lack of belief - atheism is the belief that there is no god period. It's a positive belief, not the lack of belief. So if you believe definitively that there is no god then you must provide evidence. If there is no evidence then the best you could say is 'maybe there is, maybe there isn't, i see no evidence either way". Which is NOT atheist. Nooooo... god it's like trying to teach trigonometry to a goldfish. No, there is no need to prove commonly held knowledge. If i say the sun comes up in the east every morning it would be up to you to prove otherwise. And you're wrong. Yet again. In order to change YOUR mind i'd have to use experimental drugs and a lobotomy on you. And then - maybe. If you actually cared about the truth you'd have looked it up yourself and found tonnes of examples without my help. Which tells me you know you're lying. As to the rest - same thing. You're just wrong except for where you're being dishonest. You're an embarrassment to the left and a prime example that it's a position held by those who are expert at self delusion and dishonesty This is why the right is the political home of reason facts and logic. The left only cares if those things HAPPEN to support their position - otherwise, they hate it. Sigh. It's hard to think of people like you as the best we could do with 4 billion years of evolution to work with.
-
there's tonnes of examples. You didn't address my point did you. Nonsense - by definition their beliefs are held to be valid based on faith. it would be up to the athiests to prove they were wrong if anyone had to prove anything. You won't anyway. We've discussed this. Lets put it this way - if i give you one example of a leftist or liberal trying to get someone cancelled, will you agree that leftists or liberals do this? Or will you complain you need more or that those people aren't liberal enough to be REAL liberals? IF all you're going to do is sealion about it then there's not much point. We both know that there's tonnes of examples that will pop up with a simple google search and so it makes your motives suspect. AAAAAHHAHAHAHAA - YOU are truly retarted! - that wasn't even ABOUT the notebook!!!!!!!!!!!! Holy crap - not only did you not watch the hearings YOU DIDN"T READ THE ARTICLE!!!! LOL Well thanks for proving the point Lefties lie. Here ya go: https://news.yahoo.com/twitter-exec-suppressed-hunter-biden-161210852.html?guccounter=1&guce_referrer=aHR0cHM6Ly9kdWNrZHVja2dvLmNvbS8&guce_referrer_sig=AQAAAA3y-KOOn-QPqnKIRA6aw-ED4BgOHO7aLShmzwwss4qz8-_z-cwtYpe7flndnMUwWG459um7s08AAtewz-X4YkpHpDE_o3jY3he3kbJzfuuxO-p06PkOiaG74PLQjKMY3cqZvoa_0vzdzKsexyodQ5EwIAbKK9n6uqXv2M6a3ZUU Whooopsie doodle - i was right and you were wrong - which you knew This guy already admitted to it, it's public knowledge. Right. Exeptions. Several times actually. I've said it before - you don't seem like a very good person. Bigoted, sexist, racist, and supportive and dismissive of violence that people you consider like minded do. You out and out said Conservatives were ALL lesser people as well, don't know if i got that in there. History isn't going to judge your side any better than it does the KKK, the brownshirts, or any other group that advocates for hatred and exclusion as yous does.
-
Dude - that was a bit of a lie on your part then. The CPC never hired him. Nor were they considering it - it says very clearly in that trial that it would have been the first nations who hired H2o - not the gov't . The gov't would just fund it. The guy was just doing lobbying for H2O and stepped over a line with regards to that. That had nothing to do with the CPC. And the fraud charges wouldn't show up till after the CPC was out of power. So if i'm being very kind - your statement was a GROSS and MASSIVE exaggeration. If i'm being VERY kind.

More Liberal lies about the carbon taxes...
CdnFox replied to Army Guy's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
One. Thread. Just one, just to prove you're a rational person and not an addict. -
Well again - you're conflating what YOU feel good policy is with 'good leadership'. And that leads to issues - basically your definition of a good potus would wind up being 'someone who does stuff i like" and that's just way to personal to be a useful tool for comparing or evaluating them. well i would say they were wrong if that's the only issue we're talking about. But - overall he has broken more promises than just about every other prime minister ever including his father and he's been caught at corruption many times specifically for his job. And he said the carbon tax would be neutral which it turns out it isnt So thats where we start to run into issues. Hogwash. They liked the employment situation. They liked the strong economy. they liked a lot of it. But they didn't like the drama and that was clear from the polling and biden said he'd do a better job with covid (which he didn't). Biden seemed pretty safe and a return to sanity - but they wanted to keep all that other stuff too. Which is why biden is in the tank right now I doubt it. No, it isn't. THe gay marriage thing is a complete joke. Don't even bother. I don't have time to go make myself a tinfoil hat. As to abortion, They don't have a 'much reduced' access for the most part. The vast majority of states didn't change anything. And those that did are a 2 hour drive from those who didn't. That would be a relatively minor inconvenience. The thing is legal experts have been saying for many years roe vs wade was a shakey ruling and could well be overturned. It probably should have been with the states all along. So - easy enough, just add it to the constitution. It's not like there aren't a hell of a lot of amendments already - add one more. But biden doesn't want to try. May i remind you that during the debates nancy stood up and stated clear as a bell she would appoint judges that would rule in favor of her political agenda (guns, etc) at the same time trump said he would and NOBODY BATTED AN EYE in the public or the media. If you're opposed to it then you're talking about the wrong country because both sides are just fine with it. He turned an "ok" economy into a very solid performer. Stocks radically improved, jobs did, most of the economic markers underwent a dramatic and noticeable improvement the timeline of which can be lined up with various policies. Obama lead a very slow and sluggish recovery at best. Trump did much better. Which is a lie, pure and simple. IT's the kind of thing democrats propose. He did far better than most and the only reason we got vaccines when we did was project lightspeed. It is biden. It's not worldwide at all, many countries are no where near as bad as the states and the ones who come close made the same mistakes. But the US is just about top of the list in the developed world. It is ABSOLUTELY biden's fault. you cannot dump billions and billions of unearned dollars into the economy WITHOUT that happening. If biden had done the right things then they would have an inflation rate perhaps 2 percent above target at its max and only have been above target for a year max. That is vastly different than what happened. And now they'll head into a recession shortly. I think not wanting him within a country mile is 100 percent about teh antics. For sure. They know he did fine with the real issues - but they know people are sick to death of "the election was stolen" and fights with the press and telling little rocket man his button is bigger than his, etc etc etc. Lol - well it's a problem isn't it. Right now i'm not seeing ANY white hats on either side. Bernie sanders? What a disaster that would be, Desantis is kind of just like trump light - he'll do almost but not quite as good with the economy and cause almost but not quite as many drama shows. What's the point? Might as well go for full fat trump instead. I'm not seeing that moderate leader who can just step in and do a solid job with a few policies that tick off one side or another a little but not 'burn the cities or storm the capital' levels of pissed off. And nobody terribly strong.

There exists within Canada a species of humans that are ghouls - people who feed off the dead. Not people who care for the deceased but rather those who prop their dead bodies up to try to make money from them. This is from such a group. They don't really care about the deaths - the deaths are just a means to an end. The end being selling news and getting gov't funding to do some fake crap about 'femicides' which will make no difference but will line these people's pockets. they are the worst. And they take money and resources from people who actually would like to see positive changes.
