The Panthers have a pesky team, plus a red hot Bobrovsky. I call the series to end 4-1, as Leafs win one for pride.

Not all teachers will teach it with balance, and you know it. I knew a kindergarten teacher who prided herself of having all kids stand against a wall, to show people how racism works. She would then mention things like: "take a step forward if you have two parents", "if you have a car". By the end, the white kids would have walked up to her, and the minority kids were still either on the wall, or still close to it. This didn't do anything other than tell the white kids that they were pieces of s*** just for existing. Like I said. When you conflate education with activism, you will do more damage than good. I don't believe CRT belongs in school. Kids should learn history. Teaching kids to be ashamed of say Canada, doesn't do anything. I have seen so many far leftists and worked with some who would scold you for celebrating Canada day. This country "isn't yours, how dare you celebrate this?!". This isn't awareness at this point. It serves no purpose. You still live here, and are just whining. Its useless. No. Teach it objectively. Let kids make their own decisions. Teaching it with a bias, is you trying to turn kids into activists, vs them history which is your job as an educator. If they become activists, good for them. But it's not your job to harbor that hate and anger. How is capitalism the problem? See my line about the kindergarten teacher that I know. Multiply this thousands of times, by teachers who try to push their personal agendas, even often bragging on places like Tik Tok about it. This is the problem. Kids are at school to learn. To be productive in society. They have an entire life to learn about how f***ed up our world is.

You're right, if eluding to policy only. Trudeau is far superior at crafting his image where it matters.
-
Probably why I never got into politics. Am peaceful. My wife wanted to make a run in politics as we both have strong political families, but I told her for our marriage's sake--to pursue something else. She genuinely cares and has tons of strong policies in mind, but its not what bothers me--its the fact that she would have her name slung into the dirt, by opponents wanting to sew division, including my name. Yeah, no thanks. Also, if you care, politics isn't the game for you. Its a dirty game. The point is to make people buy that you care, and advance your agenda as you see fit, which is why at the end of their terms, so many politicians have upheld so few of their promises. To me, this is the epitome of what is dangerous about the far left. They sell victimhood. Their "well meaning" ways, have literally destroyed the black community, which for many are entirely dependent on the government to survive. They'd rather virtue signal than actually try to fix issues. Leave it to the far left, to tell you men are women, fat is skinny and healthy and lies only apply to opposition. Unfortunately. I truly miss the political days, of falling asleep during a president's speech, because its so boring and well wishing. He wasn't, but was one of the most divisive politicians I have ever seen. That's saying something, as am in Canada under Trudeau. I'd like to see the return to common sense, and articulate politicians that don't need to sling dirt, to get the job done, but I have this feeling that those days are long gone. Soon enough, if you're a lesbian and reject trans penis, there will be something inherently wrong with you. If your husband transitions to being your wife and ditches their family to pursue their "true selves", you wanting a divorce makes you a horrible person. Pathetic, what is unfolding in this world.

That's not at all what am saying. Slavery is part of history. No, we should. In the context that keeps things historical. I.E Balance and objectivity. You can't talk about how it started, without talking about how it was abolished. About white slave owners, without white champions of the abolitionist movement. More importantly, talking about black affluent slave owners, which point to this being the norm. Prominent slaves, without talking about black champions of freedom. Omitting balance deliberately, creates a bias. History is to inform. People should be allowed to form their own opinions, by presenting them all sides. How slaves were treated, rape and the like, to me doesn't belong in the classroom in my opinion. Of course we can, and doing so objectively is the point am making (just like above). Then teach them to be good human beings. They'll through it, be the drop of water towards such change. I grew up around mostly deadbeat dads, and men who treated women like s***. As a black man no less, I could easily try to protest things, or just live my life the opposite. I knew who I was so moved accordingly. I stuck to libraries and school, vs streets and drugs. I treat women as equals, and married a woman who is as powerful as she is a boss. I could Twitter flex about things, or just be. Goes a longer way than whining about how horrible the world is (to simply be part of what makes the world better). One of these, does f*** all. Poor people, or people who live in areas that are crime riddled that happen to be poor? I live in an affluent neighborhood--only time you'll see cops here, is when they're sitting and joking around in one of the high end cafe's nearby. Am sorry, but there isn't a system holding down black people. People have the power to make personal choices, and for these, there unfortunately are consequences--including crime. I have seen plenty of cases, where parents were kept in the dark as children had begun to transition, and there had been no note of violence at home. Some parents have gone against schools for this, one of which had a daughter who could have committed suicide, as she was provided all this "help", but didn't have her mother to support her. This isn't a teacher's job. There are counselors to help, for a reason. This is a teacher stepping way out of their bounds, professionally. We are allowing teachers to be activists, and when you blur the line between educating and this, you in my humble opinion, wind up doing more damage than good.

Until someone articulate who doesn't demonize the other side, will you get extremists running their respective countries into the ground, and sewing division. Trans rights should be respected, just as concerns about HRT should be listened to. Neither are discriminatory. Same deal with critical race theory. Race should be talked about in school, on a historical basis. History needs to be taught, not shaming you for being part of a country that has a dark past. But to present it in a way that pushes victimhood vs history, doesn't do anything but divide and anger. That anger doesn't do anything if directed at the past. Destroying old statues doesn't do anything. Its using the same narssissistic negative advocate building tactics Trump did, but since its for the "correct side" its fine.

Teaching kids overt and covert racism, often results in the child feeling that unless they fight racism on a daily basis, vs treat everyone with respect, you're conflating activism with education. Activism doesn't belong in school. The united states isn't a racist country. Teaching anything that remotely implies this, is activism and based on a lie. That's why some parents are entitled to be concerned. HRT, is a permanent change to a human body. If a child is presented theories that make them question, "protections" that allow schools to withhold this from the parent and wind up detransitioning, this is an insanely reckless missuse of the school system, which is supposed to educate. Leave medical treatments or recommendations to professionals.
-
Yes. Quite a bit of it, and some have come under fire for it. I've only seen critical race theory and trans ideology being called that. Done by activists, its essentially telling white people they're irredeemable for what their race has done in the past. This isn't teaching anything. Trans ideology, at times is teaching that gender doesn't exist, and there are unlimited pronouns. I wonder how this could confuse a child, who before this likely knew themselves as being a boy or a girl. So there hasn't been a spike of youth under 18 who have undergone HRT treatment?
-
You do appreciate, that people have been called bigoted for saying this, right? I don't disagree. I think its wrong however, to teach gender in a way that in trying to be inclusive to a minute percentile, ends up confusing other kids who otherwise would have been fine. I agree. Activism has no business there. Education conducted by activists becomes indoctrination. No, but some feel that if that said boy stated they were a woman, they would be, end of. I don't see what is transphobic for questioning some things.

Chicago is a write off city. I mean, the mistake is opening a business near any area rife with crime. I mean, any city where a shooting can have a police officer pull up, and then just drive off, is not a city you want to invest in. That's the first mistake. If you have investment capital, you're wiser to take it elsewhere.
-
Kind of like there being "unlimited genders"? And the left, destruction of society. Anyone who uses normies in debate, loses credibility.
-
According to extremists, she holds zero competitive advantages: Precisely why the difficulty in having rational discussions is so high.
-
In your opinion. Sorry, but I don't work with ultimatums. My point is valid, and you don't agree with it. That unfortunately isn't my problem. Turning passive aggressive or petty, hasn't changed that for you, and in fact is hypocritical since your stance is one of taking the high road, with your virtue signaling. Speaking of which, welcome to ignore. You are welcome to be predictable in your subsequent post. The stage is yours.
-
Read your posts. You flailing in debate doesn't automatically make me illiterate.
-
Why is it transphobic? How many genders are there? So there are three genders? So you're saying the gender unicorn is incorrect? How do you surgically become a third gender? There is no third gender. Only a gender abnormality that these activists have used to try to prove a point. Gender fluidity has always been a thing. Tomboys. Affeminate men. This doesn't make them the opposite gender. Or isn't pushed onto kids. Some happen to believe in letting kids be just that. Leave the heavy stuff for when they can actually understand it. My wife's daughter we feel, may be gay. She has always identified herself as more masculine and likes to dress accordingly. My wife reminds her she's a girl. Thats because she is. In today's world, this can be child abuse. Fast forward a few years, and her daughter told her mom she thinks she may be gay. Imagine if she had started gender affirming her as male, just because she said she was. Asking questions isn't the same as rejecting. Or a return to common sense. Trans people should be supported, but ideology doesn't belong in kids classrooms. Teach your kids not to be pieces of s*** to people just because they are different. Goes a longer way. It still isn't acceptable in some settings, and never will be. I don't believe a male belongs in a female prison. Or at very least, among the regular population. Ideology won't change this. What this group is pushing for, are laws that would remove basic freedoms, in order to accommodate this group. IE some have pushed for making misgendering a crime. This is extremism, not common sense.

And doing so poorly, to boot. I love debating, so it really doesn't bother me. I used to be told I would be in politics in grade school, as seemed to enjoy an entire classroom of people hating my opinion, and would calmly provide evidence for my points and stick to it. Most cower, and switch opinions the moment they feel the slight burn of pressure. Same reason why so many politicians have become spineless to this trans ideology movement, or panic when asked to define a woman. Know what you stand for, is critical in my opinion. If defining words like woman make you panic, future generations of them don't stand a chance.
-
In your opinion. You have made clear opinions don't matter unless they are your own. Pot calling the kettle, much? No problem. My points still stand.
-
As mentioned long ago, we can agree to disagree ? If you refuse, then no problem. I'm good with either scenario, but am vehemently against changing my opinion or being pressured to, because of disagreement.
-
Then don't. Its your right. It doesn't do a thing to change my opinion on the matter, along with millions of others. If presented with evidence, then sure. If you present me with evidence to support your claim, by all means. I may not agree with it, but doesn't make your opinion wrong just because I disagree with it.

It is also often used to describe terrorist or radical groups who often groom children due to the ease of which they can take advantage of their vulnerabilities. Both are highly acceptable uses of the world. One cannot ignore the use of grooming tactics used by some within this movement in order to isolate children, and bring them to harm under guise of support. Difference is the intentions of the groups who employ these tactics. One has good intentions, but the harm is still devastating for some, who will not know any better as children. Countering or bringing up the grooming tactics to some, will mean you get doxxed, called transphobic or otherwise are silenced. If the movement wasn't harmful to kids, there wouldn't be so many detransitioners, giving a voice to just "maybe" we should be looking at the long term implications of teaching gender and queer ideology to impressionable children. The fact that these people are targeted by the movement for the unintended consequence of their ideologies, speaks volumes to the true intentions. The tactics used by some of the most prominent activists, are the same. You can refuse to accept it all you wish, but doesn't make it incorrect just because you do.

How did I bend an already fluid word? There are so many descriptions to the word I used. I provided an example to illustrate mine. You disagreed. Has nothing to do with my misuse of a word, and everything to do with you feeling your approval of it is necessary to move this debate forward. I then provided you an example of what you were doing, illustrated by Lemon and Ramaswamy on CNN, where approval or almost a permission was required for Ramaswamy to talk about a subject matter. Lemon became so stuck on the mechanics of it all, because he had nothing to bring to the debate, itself.
-
The irony, considering we are talking about a group that still hasn't decided how many genders that there are yet want us to stop "incorrectly" stating there are only two. Is that what you're eluding to?

Heh, seriously. I thought of GI Joe's cobra commander when I saw that. To me, the grille is the personality of the car. A car could do without the exhaust pipes, but the Rolls Royce without its iconic grille or the BMW, is just not the same. Its like Louisiana chicken without the flavor. "But its good for the planet!" Reminds me of my personal trainer telling me how delicious rice cakes can be. "A little bit of whey jerm on it." Yeah, sure. Why don't I also enjoy a plain yogurt with a non fat vanilla ice cream, said nobody ever. -
They can support their argument, but their argument doesn't stand strong considering their genitals and DNA betray them. It would be like you calling a Porshe a Toyota. Yeah, no. My argument compared those grooming children to be terrorists to those grooming kids such as influencers. Tactics are similar. Of course the end game is vastly different. My argument is valid. Am not the only one who is concerned kids are being force fed sexuality and gender ideology when they can barely understand the concept if good and bad. I presented tons of links in this thread. Was very specific on precisely what I am vehemently against. As long as this group is demanding the entirety of the pie (highjacking words like breastfeeding or menstruation, so they can feel better about themselves as an example), vs their place at the table to eat (which they are entitled to), there will always be a major divide.

Colorado teachers union bashes "capitalism."
Perspektiv replied to reason10's topic in State Politics in the United States
Exactly. And this harbors levels of corruption that are harder to counter. I would move, the day my vision and determination don't get me paid a certain level. If am ingenious enough to create a business model that employs 50 people, why is it wrong that I get a good chunk of the profit, and hire staff at competitive wages for their roles? Many black and, minorities who are entrepreneurs. My wife is a minority and a savvy businesswoman. Why should she make the same as some bum slacker who just wants to sit all day and do nothing. I don't understand how equality of outcome is fair say if my output is tenfold. Most go to college to take garbage courses. If I was smart enough to look at the median age in careers and see an opportunity and study for it, knowing jobs would be abundant, how am I to be penalized for that vision. Heck, I wish most people did this. Far more practical than paying 60k for a Philosophy degree to flip burgers.
