Eventually, people are going to start looking at how much of the budget is going to debt, at how high the deficits are, at the massive waste, the healthcare crisis, the housing crisis, the rising unemployment rate as foreign workers pour into the country and realize this probably isn't a good thing and will never change under the Liberals.

Average household income is actually higher in Alberta than Ontario even though the cost of living is lower. Ontario's poverty rate is higher than Alberta's. Alberta has a budget surplus and less debt than Ontario. But urbanites of the left continue to sneer at the 'hicks' who just aren't as wise as they themselves are, living in their tiny, overpriced boxes in the sky and worrying about how they're going to pay for food. We have a long-term downtrend in our wealth, with GDP per person going down repeatedly in the face of massive importation of poor, unskilled people from the third world. Foreign investment has fled. We have a housing crisis. Ethnic enclaves are growing and starting to elbow each other and position themselves for power as Canada becomes more divided. We've had eleven years now of progressively larger budget deficits. There is crime and disorder in the streets. The healthcare system continues to deteriorate. Unemployment is rising rapidly even as we continue to bring in hundreds of thousands of foreign workers. It takes at least a decade for companies to get through all the paperwork and approvals to do anything from building pipelines to opening new mines to building a factory. Our legal system is so bureacratic it takes three years to get people to trial after arrests and we're simply dropping the charges on tens of thousands of cases every year because we ran out of time. Our infrastructure is in terrible shape all across the country. We have EV mandates that are impossible to fulfill, and the government is diverting billions to pointless, useless carbon reduction programs. Taxes are high and continue to rise. We have open borders letting in tens of thousands of 3rd world migrants every year. We don't even know how many are here. And this topic is full of lefties who, just like our legacy media, are sneering at Poilievre because he's complaining about it. You are, none of you, serious people. You keep saying that at the same time as you say the Conservatives should have replaced their leader after one loss - again.

You can read as many papers and watch as much TV on this as you want to and you won't find any reporter mentioning much about this guy's background. What country was he born in? Is he a citizen or an asylum claimant? How did he get in? They never mention that because the legacy media practices self-censorship. There are things they don't think it's good for people to know, so they don't tell them. Mentioning that he came in from whateveristan might cause people to further question the wonderfulness of our immigration and refugee system, and that isn't something the media wants to see happening. It's kind of like when there is a swarming, say, and they say ten 'youths' or 'teenagers' were involved, but even if they're all black (which is the norm), the media won't say that. The six girls who murdered the homeless guy in Toronto and got no punishment were all black, but you wouldn't find that mentioned in the media. Not even in the so-called conservative papers.

How many Leftists in Canada are giving speeches in mosques (Ha!) about how they should be more tolerant towards LGBT people and Jews, and how women should be treated equally? When Liberal/NDP politicians go to mosques, as they do regularly to try to get votes, how many EVER tell Muslims they need to adapt to Canada and abandon these barbaric notions about killing apostates and blasphemers? None. Not if they hope to get Muslim votes. I'm sure there are some moderate Muslims, but in a Muslim state, those people don't matter. They have no power, and no one cares what they think. If they open their mouths to argue against some aspect of the Quran, they risk being imprisoned or killed. In Pakistan, the Minister for Minorities said the blasphemy laws were unfair to minorities. She was killed. The governor of the Punjab said the blasphemy laws were barbaric. His own bodyguard killed him. No one argues against blasphemy laws in Pakistan anymore.

The politicians continue to make noises about how they're building houses in huge numbers, even as the statistics say otherwise. They're doing virtually nothing to improve healthcare accessibility because they're hemmed in by the single payer system, and the left would rather see the entire country dead and buried rather than admit that isn't working. The unemployment rate keeps rising - it's 9% now in Toronto, 14.6% among those under 25, but the politicians just blame it all on Trump even as they stand at the border gleefully waving in more immigrants, refugee claimants, and foreign workers. Yeah, things are going to get worse. The Left is determined to create the same conditions their counterparts have in Europe, where there are now growing anti-immigrant as well as Islamist riots in half a dozen countries. Except unlike Europe, Canada hasn't got the numbers of police to deal with such things.

Uh, no, that's the FOX version of how it works. It's how they get people riled up. The CNN version is that people come, make their claims, those claims are quickly and calmly adjudicated, and then they are dismissed or approved and the individual leaves or stays depending on that decision. In reality, of course, people come, work, wait years for a decision, and if it goes against them, they simply disappear into the background. Same as in Canada. So I'd say the FOX version is closer to reality, especially if you include all those who never make a claim but just sneak in.

It takes four years to get your initial hearing now once you ask for asylum. Yes, it takes a year to get the paperwork done for a work permit - assuming they actually work. Most don't. They have no real job skills applicable to Canada's economy, poor or no command of English/French, and no understanding of local culture or customs. Huge numbers of asylum applicants never find work (or don't try) and will live here on welfare their entire lives. They do learn how to game the system, you see. For example, Somali men have a higher employment rate during their first five years here than in their second five years. Why? Because they figure out that they don't need to work.

Thomas Sowell makes an excellent case for how American Blacks were rapidly progressing and catching up to Whites until the introduction of the welfare state. Then, due to various rules like less money if there was a man in the house, Black families fell apart and produced a culture where two-thirds of black kids are born to single mothers and absentee fathers, which has led to generations of fatherless boys without discipline fighting and shooting it out in the inner cities.

The US government does not process ANYTHING quickly. Nor does ours. The lawyers and judges and their ponderously slow, creaking system takes years to render any sort of decision on asylum claims.

The treaty the US signed says all countries MUST admit anyone claiming asylum and give them a hearing. The problem is that today A) millions are falsely claiming asylum and b) the lawyers have made the process so complex and time-consuming that people are able to stay for years while waiting for their claims to be adjudicated. The UN charter on refugees is a thing of a different age and is no longer fit for purpose. Western nations should renouce it and write something new.

I'm suggesting the fixation on Israel as the centre of all condemnation is not because of what Israel is doing but because Jews are doing it to Muslims, and the Left feels it must side with and protect Muslims from the evil white man, regardless of reasoning. No matter what the Muslims do, the Left feels they are the holy victims and must be protected from all criticism and attack. No one can be permitted to attack Muslims except other Muslims. When are they going to start demanding Islam lighten up on abortion, on LGTB, on women's equality? The feminist groups in the West couldn't even bring themselves to criticize or even mention the mass raping and murdering of young women on Oct 7. The Left, including its institutions like the legacy media, as well as all leftist parties, support Hamas rather than Israel. Jews are harassed and attacked daily, with nothing but silence from our institutions and politicians. Yet every time some Muslim girl gets her hijab yanked, the prime minister comes out with a sobbing cry for vengeance and demands to crush "Islamophobia," which is a word and concept invented by an Islamist group and widely adopted by the Left. Antisemitism thrives on our university campuses with the approval of professors and administrators, and has spread to K-12 schools. Iran and Hamas funded marches take place daily in every city by a mix of Muslims and leftists screaming curses on Israel and barely veiled curses on Jews. And what do the police do? They tell Jews to get out of their path and arrest anyone who tries to counter-protest. Why? Because municipal government is mostly Left/centre-left and don't want the police to annoy their voters. Have you never wondered, by the way, why the most socially conservative group in Canada consistently votes for the Liberals and NDP? Because the same thing happens in the UK. Muslims vote Labour. Same in Australia. Same in France. Because they know the Left-wing parties will let them do as they want, will protect them from legal retribution, and will continue to keep the doors held wide so that more of their religious brethren can come in. And the place in the Arab world where Arabs have the most human rights is ... Israel.

There is no difference between them and Jordanians or Egyptians. When Israel was born, calling an Arab there a Palestinian would likely get you punched. They are Arabs, and Arabs are not being genocided. This particular group of troublesome, fanatic Arabs can't be allowed to rule themselves. The West Bank should be given back to Jordan, who once formally annexed it. And yes, I realize Jordan wants nothing to do with these people either. Enormous bribes would be required. But those bribes would be cheaper than what constant wars cost. Take all the Jews out of the West Bank and ship them to Gaza in return for the Palestinians there going to the West Bank. I think you will find those countries you speak of are responding almost entirely to the Muslim voters in their own country and not out of any interest or concern for Palestine. They're only 'refugees' because the UN changed the definition of refugee. How is it that Palestinians living on 'Palestinian' land are considered refugees? Even after generations? Nor has the UN ever made any effort to get those surrounding states to take them back. From what I have read and what I have heard from those who are over there, the first thing an independent Palestine would do is build the biggest army it can with the help of Iran and Qatar and attack Israel, probably with the help of Iran's Revolutionary Guards. So that's what you think will be the great solution?

I don't like Netanyahu, but he's quite on point when he said that Israel could have committed genocide any time they wanted to, and it wouldn't take much more than a day. People like to play games with words, but the reality of 'genocide' is not buillshit about sending native kids to schools or making war on an evil opponent. It's murdering people in huge numbers.
