If you read the story those Canadians who like socialism want someone else to pay for it, not them. That is not new. Canadians love government programs; the more the merrier, just as long as someone else pays for it.

I hear this word a lot lately In fact, the more I hear it the more distrustful natives seem to get towards the rest of us, and the less sympathetic the rest of us seem to get towards natives. I myself used to have enormous sympathy for natives. Not. Any. More.

Apparently, I wasn't clear enough. Why is our mass immigration system good for Canada? Until demand exceeds supply. Then it's a bad thing. There are a variety of problems that drive housing costs, but when you add a million and a half people (immigrants+foreign students+foreign workers) to an already saturated market you get an absolute mess. When the impact (intended) of that mass of newcomers is also to drive down wages you get an even worse problem. Then it sounds like a good time to drastically cut immigration. In fact, to completely stop immigration, retool it to bring in specific types of people (ie, tradespeople, health care people, high tech workers, etc.) and then relaunch it in a smaller form.

And screw the fact this will put enormous stress and pressure on the poor guy who was just defending himself. The politically motivated government prosecuted a cop in my city and spent over three and a half years doing it because the guy he arrested died. And it wasn't until the trial we learned he had an 80% occluded heart and could have keeled over from a strong wind. The coroner couldn't even say what had killed him since he'd fought with other people, then run from police before resisting arrest. Sure, the cop was found not guilty of all charges. And what did we pay for that? A million dollars in legal and court costs? Two million? Not to mention the cost of his salary for almost four years of doing nothing. And the stress and pressure unfairly placed on him.

The largest landlord in most cities is the city. And not a single one has the funds to properly maintain their housing stock even as they build more.

Why? Immigration is driving demand for housing. There has been a shortage of tradesmen in Canada for years and it's been getting worse. Apparently, ramping up the immigration of Tim Hortons workers and software developers is not helping us grow the size of the trades population very much. In addition, Canada loves red tape. Every level of government wallows in bureaucracy. The more the better. It takes longer to push through the paperwork to do a reno than it does to do the reno. A developer who acquires land (at a high cost) can look forward to a decade or more of going through the bureaucracy, hearings, reports, legal queries and investigations before getting permission to build anything. According to the CD Howe Institute government delays, fees and taxes roughly double the cost of a new home. In short, we are NOT going to increase the volume of new housing. Full stop.

And the UK put a ton of time, money and blood into ending slavery throughout the world and compensating slaves. And to reiterate, even by 1970 there were only about 30k blacks in Canada. There basically IS no Black history in Canada. Which did not fit.

There's a difference between Truckers condemning the government vs this twat condemning the entire country and its legitimacy. And I don't like Black history month (in Canada) because its nothing but a performative virtue-signaling tribute to the American culture wars. It makes no sense to have such a thing here. I don't think, given her parents came from Jamaica and lived in the Jane/Finch area of Toronto, that free trade was responsible for their poverty. Immigrants should feel free to criticize something the government is doing. Condemning the existence of Canada as a state is something entirely different. But I would say culture touches this issue in that my culture, at least, believes in gratitude. When your family is allowed into this country, and you're educated at the expense of others (your parents being too impoverished to pay taxes), when the society around you adapts to your people's views as best it can, and favors you with economic assistance to further your art, you ought to show some gratitude. And by the way again, who was it who chose her, or who advised the NBA to choose her to come and sing our national anthem in the first place? Because she's on record as saying she stopped singing the national anthem years ago, upon hearing about residential schools (of which she seems to know virtually nothing beyond the headlines). So why would anyone invite someone who was so disgusted with her country and its history that she never sang the anthem to sing the anthem? Another progressive shithead, likely, who thought her 'brave' and 'truthful'. But I digress... I am talking about blaspheme laws, however they are applied and whoever applies them. Treating differences of opinion or viewpoints on topics that a certain group has basically declared 'sacred' as something demanding punishment is basically treating those views as a blaspheme. There are laws being put in place for such things on the internet, and as the cite points out, some of the NDP want laws in place to make it a crime to disagree on the residential schools topic. Your pretending its all good because the laws aren't yet in place is also disingenuous.

The CBC is definitely biased. And it shows in the stories they choose to cover, and in how they cover stories they have to cover. It can't very well refuse to cover Liberal government scandals, but it can do so less intensively than Conservative government scandals. It can choose to interpret what Liberals say harmlessly while interpreting what Conservatives say in the worst possible light. It can choose to interview 'third parties', like academics, who will give the opinion they want them to give. This organization actually launched a lawsuit against the Conservative party during the last election for snippets of news stories every party had been using since TV advertising was invented. And they attached the name of its main political commentator to the lawsuit.
