This is my biggest and only disagreement. I do not want and cannot condone schools to decide moral situations or standards at all. That is a parental, family and/or religious leaders responsibility entirely. Schools must remain neutral. There is no curriculum for morality and if it is being taught, it is by individual teachers opinions and that, is absolutely wrong. My opinions have been expressed and I have no more to add. Michael, you are falling down your very own rabbit hole. 1. I have 3 grand kids that do not celebrate christmas in schools, public and catholic. I volunteer coach at a public high school and there are no chrismas celebrations. I understand that they can recognize secular religious activities and events. 2. I keep bringing up religion class at catholic schools because of your comment about teaching "morality, health, civics and personal growth" in catholic schools." and the only place where that may occur is in religion class. 3. Incorrect, the should not single out "gay" kids in any way. Even the gay community would not like gay kids singled out. Besides it is a LGBTQ+ flag, not just gay. 4. Remembrance day?? I do hope you are aware and know that Remembrance day "was originally called “Armistice Day” to commemorate armistice agreement that ended the First World War on Monday, November 11, 1918, at 11 a.m." and nothing to do with military lifestyle, let alone with papal proclamations. And Halloween? really? And no Michael, it is not up to the schools to decided what they set as a moral standard. they are governed and controlled by Provincial Government rules and regulations. 1. Look Michael. Yes, a permanent flag is a problem. No, a banner would not be OK Michael, the schools have not been able to decorate or celebrate Christmas or Easter or any religious activities for many years. The Catholic school system has legislative (maybe constitutional) right to remain a catholic school but quite restricted in activities. Like I said, only one class per year and only for one semester. The schools need to remain totally neutral I support anyone that wishes to protest. Yup, the police did mishandle the situation and the police chief quit in disgrace. As soon as the temporary chief got command, things changed the end of the protest was in sight. You may not care about my friends and neighbours but, they were actually there and not by video burst like you.

Absolutely right. Here in Ottawa, as I have said many times, there are protests at least every weekend. Sometimes several during the week too. They come, do their thing and go. Only one has ever set up encampments on the main street. Thing is now, the truckers protest has forever made things difficult for every protest that comes after. There are rules and restrictions being developed so that sort of thing will never happen again. They are even talking about enlarging the parliamentary district to make policing of that area a federal jurisdiction. Yup, your gang and screwed everyone that comes after you. Proud I hope LOL

Remembrance day does not have a flag that is flown and if there was, it would only be for the day, not continually. (although, my former crewmates that have died in military aircraft crashes are commemorated by me almost every day) I agree with almost all of your points, pots]\st and discussions but you certainly baffle me (and others) on your take and vehement support of this. After the entourage blocked the street, the police put up barricades to prevent further vehicle from entering and adding to the shit show. So, the shitshow went to other streets and the police once again put up barricades to prevent more from coming. Eventually, the downtown core was closed off and then, and only , then truckers reps said where do we go and the city said go to the baseball stadium and use their parking lot, even though the parking lot at Lansdowne was closer and more convenient for the truckers shitshow. I live here, saw and heard what went on at the time it was going on. I have friends and neighbours that had to go downtown to work and explained in pissed off detail of what was happening. So for me, your facebook video bursts are mostly BS and not at all descriptive or what actually was going on.

The courses are those mandated by the provincial government, same as in any public school in Ontario. You seem very pro LGTBQ flag flying in schools at any other group flag expense so, you answered little except defend that. By saying the LGBTQ community needs help and schools fly their flag, you dismiss all other groups that have flags as not needing help. I am for equality but, it means equality for all not just the de rigueur group of the moment.

Catholic schools are "public". Publicly funded means public. You do not need to be catholic to go to "catholic" schools.
