Competition is not the preview of CRTC. That is all on your governments of the past 5 or more decades. CRTC was to ensure Canadian content to prevent being over run by foreign propaganda (LOL). It has since become the authority for regulation and issuing air wave licensing and more. It has also become the sounding bard for loud commercials, deemed inappropriate content over the air waves and anything else the public wishes to complain about. Rest assured there will be tons of complaints about the Rogers outages. The US has the FCC, England has Ofcom and other countries have theirs. Stop obsessing about the bureaucrats, it is what it is and bureaucrats are the working people of government. It is your MP's over the many decades and century that impose these regulations and laws and the workers enact and enforce them. Their pay is immaterial and is either negotiated or union contracted and what the employer is willing or able to pay, just like your wage. You for sure are not a big picture person and live in a vacuum or hollow tube.

They may, in some circumstances use the same towers for wireless but the networks differ. As I said, I am for more competition.

As a relatively new member here, I have found that name calling and insulting and trolling is allowed and it seems, encouraged here. Having said that, you trying to make it a leftie or righty thing may be off base. A person can be called whatever name you want to call them because what they said is deserving of that name, regardless if you think they are left or right on a political spectrum.

Apparently they were doing a hardware maintenance and something went wrong. ""We now believe we've narrowed the cause to a network system failure following a maintenance update in our core network, which caused some of our routers to malfunction early Friday morning,"" https://www.cbc.ca/news/business/rogers-outage-interac-debit-restored-1.6515869

Realistically and to be fair, it is far more expensive to provide internet/wireless in a country the size of Canada vs all the countries in Europe. Canada is more than twice the size of the entire European Union, which is made up of 28 countries (which all have their own internet /wireless regulators). And your obsession with pay/lunches etc is nonsensical.

Another WTF??
-
Firstly, CRTC does not regulate or impose maintenance or updates to any network or provider. The companies update and maintain their own networks and that is what Rogers said caused the outage. Secondly, there are no monopolies in Canadian internet or wireless. There are over 250 providers on at least 5 networks (not sure of how many more in Quebec) Having said that, I would welcome more competition. What would another regulator do??

What incredibly complete and utter blather from a single minded simpleton. I am embarrassed there are actually people like you that believe your drivel. So single minded and embarrassingly out of touch with the real world but hey, there has to be people like you to make the rest of us look good. Foolish people make foolish comments and do foolish things and you certainly fit that narrative.

BLM made it known what it was going to do, when it was doing it and when it would be over. Trucker shit did non of that. Lich and Ghandi? WTF, only you would say that idiotic shit. What a F'N insult to Ghandi and Martin Luther King Gahndi and MKL stood for something and did something and ended up as real heros. Lich and cohorts will go down in history as fools as they are already deemed by most Canadians. Decent people agree with me, idiotic leftists agree with you.
-
Nope, facts. 3 fools in Ottawa jail and 3 more fools in Alberta jail.....FACT.
-
I said WTF because you made no sense. Your topic is CRTC and Rogers outage.
-
WTF??? Off meds again??
-
Neither small, amoral or bitter, just stating facts. How small and pitiful you are if they are your martyrs. The issue is long gone and only those with nothing more in their lives still live in that long gone past.

And 3 idiots sitting in cells for it Ha Ha Ha. It's all over except for the whining which some of you are so good at Ha Ha.

You just need something to moan about?? What do you want the CRTC to do? You don't even know why the network went down. The CRTC is an administrative regulator, not a repair facility. "Mandarins" and "czars" ? "Phoenix system"? "bureaucrats obscenely paid out of public pocket"? "We need a modern representative parliament and a parliamentary commission on communications with full transparency to the public."? For what? The tell private business how to do it? And you cry about too much government and now you want more?? I think you went through serious withdrawal when your Rogers network went down and you could not get online to whine LOL

School Boards Promoting Homosexuality?

I get the inclusion part but, the movement itself is causing it's own issues and that is what has many of the public turned off. As for inclusion, pressing and pushing and constant whining does more harm than good. At a certain point, most (non lgbt) people are not wanting to be reminded any more. I believe it is time for that community to get on with their lives and stop advertising and whining about being threatened.- 479 replies

School Boards Promoting Homosexuality?

What ideas? Liberation of what? I believe while yes, it does not represent sexual acts, it is representative of sexual decisions/deviations/choices/desires.. I mean, the parades are not just people walking down the streets, topless, they are costumed, leathers chains whips, animal costumes and other (what I call) perversions. While I have no qualm with LGBT, I feel the need to advertise/display/promote your sexual choices are unwarranted. I have no anger with the symbolism, I just feel there does not need to be overt symbolism of many kind..- 479 replies
