  1. Volatile? Watched an interview on CTV w a lady griping about prices, right behind her the display held butter for $3.99. It's $8.99 here. And I just snapped at my dog while making dinner "Well I should hope you like raw hamburger at $8lb!" and instantly remember saying the same thing to him about steak a year or so ago. Just saw a recipe in the Costco book for a prime rib Xmas dinner: start w a 20lb roast... yeah like $600 for one of those in these parts.
  2. It's been an issue here for years, glad to see the USA has even noticed. They've probably had 20X the overdose deaths. And they'd probably shoot anyone who even mentioned "harm reduction" out loud.
  3. Seat belts, safety glass, crumple zones, air bags, pollution controls, bumper & light standards, mileage mandates. Yes, the free enterprise system is just so efficient as to what is needed. All mandates the Big 3 lobbied against. Where do you think the bulk of investment money in battery, rare earth mining, etc. is coming from? The oil companies covering their futures. It sure as hell isn't from Greenpeace. BTW the UN Committee on Environment isn't radicals. People with your point of view are the radicals.
  4. Or they can just lie. Each time I enter the grocery store and see prices that are double or more what they were just last summer, I wish those people would go work for my bank. Then my 2% GIC would double in value each year. More fool me I went to uni on an "OLD Math" scholarship... Just to frustrate myself I looked up a Seattle Safeway flyer. Seems our 70c dollar means we pay FOUR TIMES as much for steaks, TEN TIMES as much for seafood and over TRIPLE the price for breakfast cereals. And we try not to mention apples 'on sale' for $3.99/lb......
  5. You are stupid beyond belief. Down to the your bones. If you deride and deny benefits to others while gaining nothing for yourself, that's stupidity by definition. Engaging in stupidity and gloating about how stupid it makes you look is utter insanity. You are an absolute master at doing that.
  6. Some of you sure like to feed your own perceptions, don't you? If you ever looked, you'd see Northern BC is absolutely FULL of Conservative MPs. Ones who wouldn't dare reveal their pro-pipeline stance as the elector's did not support it in the least. Had they said so openly, they would've handily lost their seats. Your stubborn insistence that the environment is only a concern of the left has cost you 2 terms of Trudeau and you risk a 3rd unless PP gets onboard. And to continue the same rant that the people of BC are obligated to assume all of the risk and none of the benefits a decade after the fact only shows you have learned so little, cared so little and doubled down on assuming no responsibility other than whining about your wallets. Someone else's wallet, as you yourself stand to gain very little. Look at a map! What do you see besides a flat piece of paper? Fjords, mountains, rivers, canyons, scattered islands and lakes. Forests that burn, waters that flood, landslides, avalanches, earthquakes and marine hazards that sink ferries and barges. Maybe we should take that giant 3D map of BC they used to have at the PNE - where you rode on a trolley and saw what you'd see from a plane, and put it up in Fort McMurray. And again, whether you like it or not, it will take a decade to build a pipeline and by then you will have the dying market you refuse to see now.
  7. "woke" Nazis... your delerium manages to come up with the funniest oxymorons
  8. The Feds fund much of the medical programs, and Premiers just had a meeting to demand that they increase it by a huge amount. Point being, the same people are screaming that the gov't spends too much, has too many employees at the same time they're demanding more and better services. Just as they gripe about the inefficient ways they happen, and seem to think one guy screaming orders about shit he knows nothing about would be better.
  9. Trudeau isn't the Judge, is he? And they didn't pass any laws to make them let them out either. You must miss the Harper Era's "pass 2 unconstitutional Crime Bills every day Parliament sits" follies.
  10. Pick one to describe yourself: 1. Dumb as a f***ing hammer 2. Troll of the year
  11. And screaming too many civil servants and not enough to process immigrants, medical stuff, law enforcement, your passports fast enough at the same time?
  12. and again, spout cliches and jargon I know none of you can quote specifics because the answer would the waste is money spent that benefit hundreds of thousands, but not you personally.
  13. Why the hell would Northern BC wish to separate? Give so much as one possible reason. Dig deep as you can to conjure up one single benefit. Dumbest idea i've ever heard.
  14. The halfwit that thinks a 10 yr old can have a baby without risk of injury?
  15. No but the Florida Orange denied it his for his entire term so you could pretend it's Biden's fault. Rather do what Trump did with Covid, spend all that time trying to find out who's fault it was until so many were dead he couldn't ignore it? Gonna DO something about it like safe supply, free treatment centers, food, housing, health and employment training and services?
  16. Yeah but they're brown, speak a foreign tongue and dress funny. Are you gonna tell the Queen that pays your wages?
  17. Well I grew up during the Vietnam war and I'm glad we took in all the people that moved to Canada because of it. On the other hand, if someone actually attacked the USA I'd volunteer to help them. Not too useful at my age though. Been all over the West coast of the USA back in the days Canadians were welcomed instead of treated like just another f***ing foreigner. Met many people, friendly helpful people and used to meet up with a Navy pilot who'd hit the same campsite we did on leave, his family would meet him. Great guy. Nicest people you could ever know individually, but collectively they're politically bat shit insane.
  18. I will try again: Nobody is out to destroy Alberta, except maybe Danielle Smith. For those Albertans that stubbornly refuse to open their eyes and see, there's this World Climate Crisis going on an everyone, everywhere is reducing the use of fossil fuels, whether you like it or not. If you'd accepted the five conditions for pipelines Christie Clark offered a decade ago, you'd be in the position to start hunting for customers for the wrong product in about 2 more years. If you're still thinking of oil pipelines now, then you're the guy who toured Henry Ford's assembly line and then went home to sink all his money into a buggy whip factory. You think dumping on BC when we buy all the oil you want to send us is going to help? There's a huge market in the Lower Mainland you could take away from the Americans if you'd refine it instead of them.
  19. You have not run into the "Unfortunately, your content contains terms that we do not allow" warning while posting. An amazing example of computer AI - Artificial Ignorance.
  20. and i reply with exactly the same. Because you say so with no details on what makes you think that's the case? Generalizations and cliche....
  21. Unfortunately, your content contains terms that we do not allow. Please edit your content to remove the highlighted words below. every single word, entire content of 3 paragraph reply highlighted, no swear words in post, only 1d10t on restricted list. So much for "free speech" principles, eh?
  22. If you could specify exactly what is wrong with spending money, in a manner that reflects that the government is spending it not the PM by personal decree, perhaps point out exactly what spending you object to, and do it in a manner that isn't uber-Conservative generalization and cliche, then maybe... you'd have some credibility.
  23. No! No! You're the retards. You're all liars!
