The Ill feeling between left and right on immigration
blackbird replied to Argus's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
The proof of the existence of God is in the creation for one thing. The creation was not an accident but the complexity and beauty of the creation should tell one that there had to have been a divine creator. -

Don't tell me you are another one who denies the basic truth of God. God created the universe and everything in it and everything is sustained by the power of God. Without God's sustaining a person's life, he would cease to live. We owe our continued existence and life to our Creator. It is nonsense to say God depends on us. Probably just a rhetorical comment but means nothing. God is omnipotent and everything depends on God. -

There is a difference between "religion" and biblical truth/God. Religion can be a false system or something invented by man. There are many "religions" in the world, but only one true God and only one true revelation of God to man. -

Can a man fight against God and hope to win? Our heartbeat or our very breath depends on God. -

"The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good." Psalm 14:1 ANother verse says something like the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. see Psalm 111 vs10 -

You have a big ring in your nose for liberal ideology though. Whatever ideology you worship, that is your god. -

You are like an old vinyl record that is stuck on the same old sentence over and over. -

I'm afraid you don't understand. I would have to check into the context of Jesus' statement. He wasn't implying that war was a good thing or condoning it at all. Just stating a simple fact of wars existence in the world. You need to read the Bible. The Bible is the source of wisdom. -

Yes, that was one war that I agree we should not have gone into. But here are others that we had to go as for example WW1 and WW2, the Korean War, and Afghanistan. Jesus said we would always have wars. -

You are living in a dreamworld. Canada has a population of about 37 million, not much more than Mexico City or Tokyo' population. You think Canada could wave it's magic wand and stop all wars? -

If you look at the immigration policies of many other countries, you will find many of them do not allow just anybody to immigrate to their country. Some hardly allow anyone into their country. A country has the sovereign right to determine who comes in. I don't agree with the globalists who think Canada should be open to the world and anyone can come here. -

My proposal is only a point of view. A point of view is allowed in Canada under freedom of expression. It is not illegal to express a point of view on immigration policy. We still live in a society which has a certain amount of freedom even if it goes against your own political correctness. Laws can be changed by parliament. Any law which exists can be changed at any time by parliament. Canada is a sovereign country and can set it's immigration policy any way it chooses. As a sovereign nation Canada has the right to allow in whoever it chooses. There are certain religious groups or ideologies that do not assimilate into Canadian society. The government already discriminates in it's immigration policy, i.e. the point system. You pointed it out yourself. A sovereign country has the right to choose who it wishes to bring into it's country. I understand your point about people who are already here. I don't oppose those who are here. Many of them do contribute a net benefit to Canada. That is not the point. We are talking about immigration policies which can be changed to protect Canada's future. Your idea of cultural marxism is destroying Canada and other countries. There is such a thing as Canadian values. Bringing people in who oppose our values and want to change Canada will destroy what we have here. -
We should not be involved in Haiti at all. We need to get out of that place and have nothing to do with it. It's a disaster zone and they will only bring troubles to Canada.

All these illegals pouring into Quebec these last number of days will certainly be costly for Canada. This can partly be blamed on Trudeau for sending invitations over Twitter. Many of them came here because they understood from what he said that they were welcome here. These people have been led to believe they can successfully claim refugee status in Canada. 70% of them come from Haiti originally but have been sheltered in the U.S. as an interim measure because of natural disasters in Haiti, which is not considered a country where they would be persecuted so probably wouldn't qualify as refugees. Why Trudeau put out the invitation that (all) refugees are welcome here is a mystery because many if not most may be sadly disappointed when their cases go before the refugee board. According to some the waiting period could be years, meaning the cost for accommodation and food, etc. to Canada could be huge. They likely cannot work here because they do not have work permits. They could have stayed in the U.S. and claimed social assistance but now will be Canada's responsibility. Today the immigration minister put out a different message saying they should stay in the U.S. The end result is that the government is putting out mixed messages that will cost Canada millions of dollars before it is over, which might be years. In addition, Montreal has proclaimed itself a sanctuary city even though they have not yet provided proper accommodation for the migrants, thousands of whom may have to sleep in crowded conditions in an arena.

Are there limits to what freedom of religion can mean?
-
Are you misogynistic? How can you support a religious ideology which discriminates against women and welcome it into Canada?
-
g'nite!

Then you don't understand christianity. (biblical christianity, not some of the denominational kinds or Romanism kinds which have departed from the Bible in many ways) We are living in perilous times when men shall be lovers of themselves as the Bible says. I'm not surprised you have a dim view of it. History is full of bad things that have happened. But the Bible remains true even if many do not follow it very well, including myself.

So you didn't tell the truth about Islamophobia. You just said it was inciting hatred or inciting violence. Now you are admitting just opposing Sharia law is prejudice and Islamophobia. I think I get where you are coming from. You support promoting Islam and Sharia law, correct?
-
Apparently some tried to have Sharia law brought into Ontario, but it was rejected. Yes it is an issue because a certain percentage of Muslims in the UK apparently think it should be brought in. What is happening in Europe could be a prediction of what could happen here once the they have the numbers.
-
What about being opposed to Sharia law, Islam or teachings in it and speaking against it? Would that be Islamophobia?
-
So what exactly is Islamophobia in your mind?
-
I am interested in learning a little more about it. Don't fear learning about it. Knowledge about such things can never hurt, unless you are afraid it might colour your view of Islam.

Here is a website which talks about a major difference in Islam when it comes to rape. You might want to take a look at this. http://thereligionofpeace.com/pages/quran/rape-adultery.aspx It says in Islamic law, rape can only be proven if a rapist confesses or there are four male witnesses who are willing to testify. How often will you find that?
-
Yes. I will see what I can find on this.
