  1. Of course whoever would be teaching the Bible in schools would have to have a certain degree of knowledge of it and be qualified. We couldn't have you or Treebeard teaching it. There are a few historical passages in the Bible that could be taken out of context as Herbie or Treebeard do for their own reasons to try to discredit the Bible. Those kind of people could not teach it of course. Must be a Bible believer teaching it to begin with. We don't use teachers to teach subjects if they oppose the subject to begin with.
  2. Just gave you a lengthy explanation of that and the link for more information. Apparently you don't read anything more than one or two lines. So of course you don't understand the answer.
  3. You either trust God and his revelation and admit you don't understand everything in it but are willing to learn OR you reject it all and remain in darkness. There are two schools of thought. One is belief that God created the universe, revealed himself in his written word which we can study and learn. The other school of thought is unbelief which manifests itself in various ideologies such as secular humanism, Darwinism, Communism, etc.
  4. You claim that because you don't understand the Bible. The Sabbath only applied to ancient Israel and never applied to the Church which began 2,000 years ago at the crucifixion. "If an old-covenant Israelite esteemed “all days alike,” he might be stoned to death (Numbers 15:32–36). Yet Paul evidently felt no need to impose the Sabbath command on his Gentile converts. Some in Rome, it seems, wanted to keep the Sabbath (and so esteem “one day as better than another”) — perhaps Jewish Christians eager to maintain the traditions of their fathers. Paul had no issue with those Christians, so long as they refrained from pressuring others to imitate them or suggested that salvation hinged on obedience to the Sabbath (compare Galatians 4:8–11). For the sake of Christian freedom and mutual love, Paul says simply and remarkably, “Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind” (Romans 14:5). Hebrews: ‘We who have believed enter that rest.’ The author of Hebrews brings us closer to the heart of why the new covenant does not require a literal seventh-day rest. Christ’s first coming did not abolish rest; rather, it ushered in a deeper kind of rest than the Sabbath could ever offer. According to Hebrews 4, Israel’s Sabbath day always pointed forward to a far greater day: the still-future day when all creation will enter fully into the rest foreshadowed and promised in Genesis 2:2–3, the very first seventh day. “So then, there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God” (Hebrews 4:9). The ultimate Sabbath rest is coming, when God’s people will enjoy work without toil, hearts without sin, and an earth without thorns. Yet even now, Hebrews implies, we feel the first waves of the coming rest. In Christ, we “have [already] tasted . . . the powers of the age to come” (Hebrews 6:5), rest included. For, the author writes, “We who have believed enter that rest” (Hebrews 4:3) — not “will enter,” but “enter”: fully later, truly now. And how do we enter that rest? Not mainly by putting aside our weekly labors for one day in seven, but by believing: “We who have believed enter that rest.” Faith in Jesus Christ brings the rest of the seventh day into every day." 6. Of course humanism believes the traditional biblical definition of a family is obsolete. Firstly it rejects God-given absolutes and that means it rejects the definition of a family as being only between one man and one woman. That is why we have same-sex marriage and recognition of pride flags, etc. According to the Bible which is God's revelation to man, the only relationship God recognizes as legitimate is between man and woman as a husband and wife. Humanism rejects this. Your description of humanism which you posted states quite clearly what it believes. It is man-centred and rejects God. In humanism, man decides what a family is and believes individual freedom or liberty takes precedence over what God said in his written revelation.
  7. Notice Christianity and Humanism are diametrically opposed religions. Humanists believe we are just a chemical blob or accident of the Cosmos. We have no purpose in being here and no future. Christianity believes the opposite. Christianity believes God has a purpose for our existence; He created us and gave us his revelation which describes the problem and the solution. We were created by God who gave us souls and spirits. Life does not end with death. We were created with a soul which will live on in eternity, either in heaven or hell. Everyone has to decide what they will believe. But we must remember the consequences are eternal.
  8. Everything is wrong with secular humanism. First it denies God, his revelation and His sovereignty over mankind. "Humanism 1. The sovereignty of man and the state is the starting point, and it is the word of scientific, elite man which we must heed. 2. Man is his own god, choosing or determining for himself what constitutes good and evil (Gen. 3:5). 3. Truth is pragmatic and existential: it is what we find works and is helpful to us. 4. Education is the self-realization and self-development of the child. 5. Education is freedom from restraint and from any idea of truth outside of us. We are the standard, not something outside of man. 6. The school and the world must measure up to the pupil's needs. The pupil grades the teacher. 7. Society must be broken and remade to man's will and the child's will is sacred. 8. Man's problem is society. Society must be recreated by man. 9. The family is obsolete. The individual or the state is basic. The great issue of the years ahead is the developing battle between Christianity and humanism. It is a war unto death. Christianity is a world and life view and faith, and it can only exist as such. It is either the Word of God for every area or none. Christianity was born into the same battle. It is only the dereliction of Christendom which has led to a return to the beginnings of this old battle of the centuries. On the day of Pentecost, St. Peter's great proclamation was this: "Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ" (Ac. 2:36). "Jesus is Lord!" This is the joyful and central proclamation of the early church. It is the declaration of St. Paul (Phil. 2:9-11; Rom 10:9; 1 Cor. 12:3), and it is the joyful declaration that in Christ the prophecy of Isaiah 45:23 is fulfilled. To declare Jesus is Lord means that He is the world ruler Who absolutely governs every sphere of life and thought. It is the obligation of every area to be Christian: church, state, school, family, vocations, the arts and sciences, and all things else must serve only Christ the Lord. The True Meaning of "Church" A problem in understanding the scope of our work is the common misuse of the word church. Our English word comes from kyriakos, a Greed adjective, as in kyriakon doma, or kyriake oika; our word "church" refers to an institution of worship, the ministry of the Word, or a building. The New Testament word translated church is ecclesia, which gives the sense of two Hebrew words, 'edhah (congregation) and qahl (assembly). It can refer to all the redeemed people, to their assembly in worship, their civil government, the family, the godly army, and more: it means the kingdom of God. Thus, where Scripture speaks of the church, it means Christ's realm in every area and sphere of life. All things must be brought under the dominion of Christ the Lord. At present, humanism has brought all things, including most churches, under the sway of man the lord. The purpose of state schools, as laid down by Horace Mann, James G. Carter, and others, was twofold: first, to establish centralism, the priority of the state over every area of life, and second, to eliminate Biblical faith. The founders of statist education in the United States were Unitarians. They rightly believed that control over the child through the schools is the key to controlling society. Control over the schools will determine control over state and church finally. Christianity and humanism are diametrically opposed religions; one is the worship of the sovereign and Triune God, the other is the worship of man. Let us briefly analyze some of the key points of difference between Christianity and humanism as they affect education. This is far from an exhaustive analysis. Our purpose is to provide a brief outline of some of the fundamental differences: Christianity 1. The sovereignty of the Triune God is the starting point, and this God speaks through His infallible Word. 2. We must accept God as God. He is alone Lord. 3. God's Word and Person is the Truth. 4. Education is into God's truth in every realm. 5. Education is discipline under a body of truth. This body of truth grows with research and study, but truth is objective and God-given. We begin by presupposing God and His Word. 6. Godly standards grade us. We must measure up to them. The teacher grades the pupil. 7. Man's will and the child's will must be broken to God's purpose. Man must be remade, reborn by God's grace. 8. Man's problem is sin. Man must be recreated by God. 9. The family is God's basic institution. unquote Christianity Versus Humanism (chalcedon.edu)
  9. That was just part of a long history of what happened during the history of the descendants of the Abrahamic line which became the nation of Israel. You seriously have a mental issue and do not have a child's understanding of the Bible. Why is every comment you make about the Bible absolutely ludicrous? I don't have any more time for your nonsense.
  10. It is simply a record of what happened. It does not say it was moral or right. Nobody says it was right. Of course it was wrong. The Bible tells the the truth of what happened in history and does not hide the bad. It just proves the Bible came from God. If was men just making it up they might not tell the unvarnished truth of what happened.
  11. Sorry you are dead wrong. Most modern sex education instruction presents perversion, fornication, homosexuality, and living together before marriage as “normal” expressions of sexuality. Sex education should be done by parents, not unbelieving liberals or progressives in public education institutions, who know nothing or believe nothing about morality as taught in the Bible. quote Children will learn about sexuality from someone. The options are their peers, pornography, school settings, experimentation, or their parents. The best place for sex education is in the home, as a natural part of training children “in the way they should go” (Proverbs 22:6). It is the parents’ God-given responsibility to teach children God’s perspective on every area of life, including sexuality (Ephesians 6:1–4).Due to the intrinsic complexities of human sexuality, the physical aspects of biological reproduction cannot be separated from moral responsibility. Regardless of whether children receive sex education in schools or even at church, it remains the parents' responsibility to ensure their children are properly educated about both the biological and moral aspects of sexuality. Leaving values-training to others is dangerous, particularly regarding matters of sexuality in many cultures today.First, what does the Bible say about sex? Sexuality is a gift to us from God and should be viewed as such. God created sex for two purposes: procreation and unity between husband and wife (Genesis 1:28; Matthew 19:6; Mark 10:7–8; 1 Corinthians 7:1–5). Any other use of sex is sin (1 Corinthians 6:9, 18; 1 Thessalonians 4:3). Sadly, many in our world do not believe these truths. As a result, there are many perversions of sexuality and much unnecessary pain caused by them. Parents who properly educate their children about sex can help their children discern truth from error, walk in wisdom, and ultimately have a more wholesome experience of the gift of sexuality. Most modern sex education instruction presents perversion, fornication, homosexuality, and living together before marriage as “normal” expressions of sexuality. Any teaching of boundaries is limited to the avoidance of negative consequences. All of this is contrary to Scripture (1 Corinthians 6:9; Leviticus 20:15–16; Matthew 5:28). Christian parents should be actively involved in all aspects of their children’s education, especially in areas that compromise Scripture. Parents should be aware of what their children are learning and correct any misinformation given to their children. They should also educate their children in such a way as to equip the children to discern biblical truth from cultural error. God holds parents responsible for the upbringing of their children (Ephesians 6:4), not schools, churches, or governments. Many parents find the topic of sexuality awkward and embarrassing, but it doesn’t need to be. Parents should begin when the children are very young, speaking matter-of-factly with preschoolers about their bodies and how men and women are made differently. Those conversations transition naturally into more complex areas as the child matures. It is important that a child knows he can talk to mom or dad about anything that confuses him.Sexual information bombards us from every direction, so these parent-child conversations must begin very early. Before parents allow a school system to instruct in sexuality or morality, they must be sure their children have already learned the truth. It is then crucial to stay abreast of what the children are learning and how they are applying their knowledge. Keeping a constant, open dialogue with one’s children is a key to staying in charge of what they are learning. When parents are proactive in their children’s instruction, those children have a basis upon which to recognize and reject errors that the world promotes as truth. unquote How should a Christian view sex education? | GotQuestions.org
  12. Colonialism has been a great benefit to everyone as it brought the benefits of modern society. A few things of great benefit are health care, education, technologies and comforts such as motor vehicles, power tools, hand tools of all kinds, logging and sawmills, home construction, ships, aircraft, and government institutions that brought law and order to society. Also the modern age brought smart phones, cable TV and computers that provide knowledge, education, and entertainment. Also jobs that pay enough to afford all these luxuries we enjoy. And of course the Bible and gospel, without which there is no salvation.
  13. This may be true. I am not going to get into a slinging match on the subject of sexual abuse because it has nothing to do with the topic and is pointless in this discussion. All I can tell is the Bible does not condone sexual abuse in any form. There are millions of Christians in the world that attend hundreds of thousands of churches in many countries. Most would oppose and condemn sexual abuse. The fact that there are sexual abuse cases in many parts of society has been known for decades. Just how prevalent it is difficult to say. I don't condone it. But it is really not related to the subject of porn in school libraries. It does not support the argument against teaching young kids sexual orientation, gender identity, or even about sex. The issue of sexual abuse in society is a serious problem. But exposing kids to the kind of sex education that is being taught these day is another problem itself.
  14. I see the real problem Canada has is a spiritual one. This affects government and society in every way from crime to everyday life for everyone in every walk of life to politics at every level. Israel did not listen to it's prophets, persecuted them and martyred some and as a result Israel suffered the consequences. What about Canada? Can Canada expect to build a nation based on paganism, secular humanism, liberalism, etc. and not suffer the consequences? I don't think so. "How many are very careless in the affairs of their souls! Not considering what we do know in religion, does us as much harm, as ignorance of what we should know. The wickedness was universal. Here is a comparison taken from a sick and diseased body. The distemper threatens to be mortal. From the sole of the foot even to the head; from the meanest peasant to the greatest peer, there is no soundness, no good principle, no religion, for that is the health of the soul. Nothing but guilt and corruption; the sad effects of Adam's fall. This passage declares the total depravity of human nature. While sin remains unrepented, nothing is done toward healing these wounds, and preventing fatal effects. Jerusalem was exposed and unprotected, like the huts or sheds built up to guard ripening fruits. These are still to be seen in the East, where fruits form a large part of the summer food of the people. But the Lord had a small remnant of pious servants at Jerusalem. It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed. The evil nature is in every one of us; only Jesus and his sanctifying Spirit can restore us to spiritual health." This is an explanation of the beginning of the Old Testament book written by the prophet Isaiah in Chapter One verses 1 to 9. This was concerning Judah (a country or part of Israel) and Jerusalem, their capital. However, it is easy to see how this also would apply to Canada.
  15. I never heard of such a thing in my forty some years going to different protestant churches. I think you are making it up. If it happens, it would probably be very rare and no worse than in any other organization. Where sexual abuse is reportedly common is in sports such as hockey and other sports. We have been hearing more about it in Hockey Canada on the news for some time now. It probably happens in any organization that has access to kids. It is not unique to religious organizations, except in Romanism where it has been reported as widespread in some places.
  16. That is the Roman church which has priests that are not allowed to marry. Protestant churches do not have priests. They have ministers that usually have wives and families, like any normal family.
  17. You really need help. You seem to be getting more wacked out as time goes on. Maybe a local Protestant/Bible believer or minister could help you. Just a suggestion. Nobody is forcing you to go for help but it would be wise. quote What does the Bible say about sexual abuse against children? Caring for children is spoken of highly in the Bible. For example, James 1:27 says that caring for children in need pleases God: “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.” Ephesians 6:4 says, “Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.” Psalm 127:3 calls children “a heritage from the Lord.” Jesus’ interactions with children (notably in Matthew 18) demonstrate the value God places on them. The Bible speaks often about caring for the weak, poor, and needy—and this would include at-risk children (Proverbs 14:31; 17:5; 19:17; 31:8–9). Followers of Christ are consistently called to love others. Molesting a child can in no way be mistaken for love. The Bible also speaks strongly against sexual sin. Sex is a gift given by God meant for marriage. Sexual perversion of all kinds is soundly condemned. Sexually assaulting a child is never justifiable; it is always wrong. unquote What does the Bible say about child sexual abuse? | GotQuestions.org
  18. Hate to have to tell you the truth, but you are an opponent of God and Christianity. The only reason you smear me is because you hate the truth. You want me to tell everyone including yourself that you are good boys on the way to heaven when the opposite is true. Christians don't win popularity contests for telling the truth from the Bible. That's just a fact. If you want to be soothed by Christians you will have to find someone else to do that. That's not how Biblical Christianity is. The truth is uncomfortable. The message from the Bible is exactly what I have been saying. Everyone is a sinner and has a corrupt heart and needs to be born again. Read the Bible. Don't believe me if you think I am so wrong. On your last point, the world is mainly pagan. Canada is by far mostly pagan.
  19. Taxes are Socialism and forced wealth redistribution. If we didn't have carbon taxes, gas taxes, and many other taxes for this and that, there would be more money in people's bank accounts and more money to donate to charitable organizations to help the poor. Simple as that. Forced confiscation of money by government (Socialism) also wastes a large amount of it on bureaucracy which must be paid with all kinds of benefits and pension plans that many other people outside government do not receive. I know in Saskatchewan the government gives men a half of a year off work with full salary when the man's wife has a baby. Who is private industry gets anything like that? Six months maternity leave for the men????? Give us a break.
  20. " The term Judeo-Christian is used to group Christianity and Judaism together, either in reference to Christianity's derivation from Judaism, Christianity's borrowing of Jewish scripture to constitute the "Old Testament" of the Christian Bible, or due to the parallels or commonalities in Judaeo-Christian ethics shared by the two religions. The term "Judæo Christian" first appeared in the 19th century as a word for Jewish converts to Christianity. In the United States, the term was widely used during the Cold War in an attempt to suggest that the United States had a unified American identity which was opposed to communism." Judeo-Christian - Wikipedia The term Judeo-Christian can be applied to early immigrants because most of the came from Europe and had some, at least nominally Judeo-Christian beliefs. Our laws and system was built on those beliefs as opposed to Marxism or Communism ideology.
  21. Ontario middle school teacher reports student violence on the increase. We have been told the diversity, equity, inclusion agenda would help prevent bullying and violence. What we are seeing is the opposite. The sexual orientation - gender identity ideology is leading us down the path of increased violence in schools. The reason is because they took God, the Bible and prayer out of schools and brought in the woke, materialistic, humanistic ideology of the self and feeding the flesh where anything goes. Is it any surprise students are becoming more self-centred and aggressive? Of course it is no surprise. So much for the woke agenda. It is destroying society.
  22. " What Does the Bible Say About Socialism? Written by admin in Atheism,Bible,Bible Verses,Questions Socialism directly opposes everything about God, the Bible and Christianity. And it’s not difficult to see it if you’ve got an open mind. Socialism is allied with the failed philosophy of materialism and the bankrupt religion of atheism. It destroys everything it touches. Socialism destroys families, economies and nations. And more. The Bible -both in the Hebrew Old Testament and Greek New Testament- builds up both the family and the nation. Every nation that has embraced the Bible has seen great and lasting benefits. Followers of Jesus Christ have transformed the world through scientific, medical and technical achievements based on the Bible. They have transformed cities and nations with Biblical precepts. Socialism does the opposite. Every time. So what does the Bible have to say about Socialism? The Bible tells us that Socialism is slavery and thievery. And anybody who has lived under Socialism can confirm it. Socialism destroys the Biblical work ethic and confiscates assets earned by producers and gives them to non-producers. This de-motivates producers and creates a cycle of sloth, poverty and dependence." What Does the Bible Say About Socialism? – Faith Founded on Fact Jesus teaches individual charity, not state-ordained Socialism. We have food banks which are at least partially funded by individual donations. That is a good thing. But the state ideology of wealth redistribution is stealing and is Socialism. In fact, Trudeau squanders taxpayer money all over the world and to every group he can think of that might earn a few votes.
  23. ER doctors are reporting many patients coming into ERs are being forced to wait 12, 24, 48, and sometimes even 72 hours before being treated. This appalling situation is resulting in deaths of patients who are waiting for treatment. In many cases the condition of these patients gets worse as they are forced to wait. Some die in hallways or waiting rooms of ERs. This is the result of a failing public health care system that is run by politicians who do not understand or put significant necessary funds and attention into managing the health care system. It has gotten to the point now where politicians are just trying to put out fires so to speak as they flare up here and there. They have lost control of the whole system.
  24. This is not a joke. This is a fact. Canadians need to wake up. The Department of Heritage which apparently is based in Quebec is now receiving submissions and planning to change museums across Canada to woke museums (or indoctrination centres more accurately). This is a form of social engineering, teaching Canadians how to think in the new woke ideology. It is a form of Marxist top down mind control at taxpayer's expense. Orwell's 1984 Big Brother is coming for us now. 25. Liberalism, Socialism, Communism are all contrary to the Bible and therefore are anti-Christian ideologies. People who think they are Christian ideologies are fooling themselves.
