February 1st is being designated as end of the pandemic day. If we don’t declare it, this nonsense will go on indefinitely. Spread the word about February 1st!

Well, Manitoba and Alberta, and Saskatchewan and Ontario aren't because they all have conservative governments.
But BC has an NDP government last I checked, and...
BTW, showing how another party will address the problem we agree needs addressing is not a whataboutism.

So? My point is they are the only ones doing anything.

I hope that Omni-con will be our ticket out, as it hints that the virus is becoming far less dangerous, as is common for viruses. Or virii, as it were.
Therefore go ye forth young man, and get some.

It's probably the beginning of the end. But there continues to be risks of ICUs becoming overwhelmed. It's probably a good time to talk about a long-term expansion of our hospital capacity.
-
Our system has yet to break.
I think most people understood the need for the lockdowns up until now.
Right now we're looking at all the numbers and not seeing similar ICU capacity issues seen before. It's staffing issues that are the problem.

Ontario patients admitted to hospitals for other reasons, but test positive for covId, are being counted as covid hospitalizations. Regardless of whether they’re being treated for it. This needs to stop immediately!

Watching you people come around is rather satisfying. In a way it raises my faith in humanity. Not everyone is an idiot BubberMiley all the time.
Except for the BubberMiley himself, of course.

I'm sorry for making fun of your gene pool.

Factcheck: 100% of programmed gullible boomers on the Internet believe there is a vast media conspiracy to keep the truth suppressed regarding their personal cause, whatever it is, and they will not look at the facts no matter who tells them.
When faced with this, they will respond with "I'm rubber, you're glue" 100% of the time.
-
Bubber, you live in a fantasy world where vaccines are 100% effective, vaxxed people don't get or transmit the virus, only unvaxxed people are in the hospital, no deaths or adverse reactions happen from them and governments and Big Pharma are acting purely out of the best interests of public health. Your little fantasy world is going to come crashing down around you.
-
I don't believe any of those things, but I believe the virus is real, that it's extremely contagious, and that vaccines so far have been effective in improving the odds against hospitalization from it.
But I don't see any evidence all the public health officers in the world are secretly working together to hurt people and make their lives miserable. I think it's more likely the virus is what it is.

The hypochondriacs in Ontario that are going to the hospital for what is essentially the flu need to STOP.

As I thought, figments of a dishonest, unintelligent imagination.

Lots of people. The media has sufficiently scared them enough to think that they need to go to a hospital immediately. Congratulations.
-
"Lots"? You don't get admitted if you aren't sick. You don't have the foggiest clue what you're talking about. Your chronic lying is making you delusional.
-
MSNBC: The risk went from something we hadn’t really dealt with before in our lifetimes, to something that looks more like the flu. The flu can still be dangerous—but we do not reorient our lives around the flu.

I'll admit you weren't always anti-vax. That didn't happen until you were programmed by far-right internet algorithms to be so.
-
I’m not anti-vaxx. I’m for anyone that wants to get vaccinated. But I also acknowledge fundamental rights. That seems to be a nuance difficult to grasp for Branch Covidians.
-
No, you've posted all sorts of anti-vax memes and were too embarrassed to admit where you got them from. Now you've taken to questioning the effectiveness of getting boosters. You're antivax without the integrity to admit it

You've never cited a fact in your life. Show me one post you've made in the last 15 years that was true.

Omicron is less severe than delta. That’s a fact.

Early indications are promising but there is still a severe risk of significant healthcare system overload. That's a fact.

It prevents serious illness from infection. But don't pass up an opportunity to discredit the vaccine and any other mitigation measures. We are starting to see in real time just how stupid you people have been and what a drain you are on society.
-
But how was vaccinating everyone going to get the virus under control when the vaccine doesn’t prevent infection? And the protection lessens after only 6 months. Oh right. Boosters! Never mind that boosters don’t prevent infection either.
Canada is one of the most fully vaccinated countries in the world. Do you consider the virus under control here?
-
The vaccine prevents serious illness so the hospitals don't become overrun. It's hilarious how indoctrinated you've become to the anti-vax side. You used to sing from the rooftops your worship for Trump for single-handedly creating it. You're so fickle. It's like your Facebook algorithm has changed without you realizing.

The emergency room isn’t for testing. There are many other places to go for non-antigen tests. You’d think if that test wasn’t good enough, they wouldn’t have bothered in the first place, eh Columbo! ?
-
I believe the article you cited agreed that people were seeking additional tests in the wrong place. That's true. But again, you made up the BS about fear.
-
This should answer your question. See? The only fear is of not getting paid.

Yes, but your claim that it caused the pandemic is explicitly debunked. It's like you were embarrassed about your real source so you came up with a credible one, not reading far enough to see it contradicts what you're saying.
Will you ever win?

You’re still holding out on the wet market huh? ?
Yes, the coronavirus research taking place in Wuhan, where the first case of covid 19 was found was just a coincidence! ???
Xi will be proud of you!

Uh huh. I can see why you feel embarrassed after your source directly contradicted you. I would tell you to read your sources first but we both know you would never understand what you're reading anyway. Stick to the antivaxxer memes that you're too chicken to cite.

Still embarrassed that didn't read your own source? That was pretty humiliating and you probably did even realize it, given you still seem to be in the dark.

Second study out of Hong Kong confirms omicron much less severe in lungs.
-
-
Even your hated media admit it's likely less severe.
The concern is that, with a rate of infection so high, will the scale of infected people mean that even if a small percentage get severely ill, will that disrupt hospitals.
I don't think anyone can be definitive either way, at this point.
