The messaging is all around preserving Healthcare. That's the only thing that matters. 

I move over into conspiracy theory territory when I think that it's an excuse that can always be used. 

We've been trained to look at the metrics that are supposed to matter. And now we're being told that they don't matter anymore. 

A 100 admission increase in COVID-19 positive ICU cases (no one is saying if those are just patients that are in the ICU for other reasons) is reason enough to go back into lockdown and cancel elective surgeries for the balance of January? 

Again it's not because we're all getting deathly ill, it's because Healthcare workers are testing positive. 

It's because it is insanely contagious and could easily get out of control. They can see what's happening in other jurisdictions.

It's already gotten out of control. Lockdowns aren't going to change that. 

Only an N95 can prevent spread.

People aren't getting insanely ill from it. Partly because of vaccination and that it's much milder. 

We need to accept that this will be with us forever.
