  1. I think one can convey unaffordability without referring to women's reproductive abilities. If incomes had kept up with the price of real estate things might not be so dire. I will say that the Liberal government help in daycare has actually made having a child more affordable. It's a small step but a helpful one.
  2. This is objectively an example of fascism. If they can't publish the names of the people deported and for what reasons, then they're no worse than the gang members. Due process is there for a reason, it protects people from being falsely accused.
  3. PP says that the big problem with unaffordable housing is that women can't buy a home before their "biological clock" runs out. Yuck. They would have been better bringing Andrew Scheer back.
  4. Carney gets to own the drop in gas prices. Something PP made the cornerstone of his agenda. It's it ironic, dontcha think?
  5. This show is being pegged as the the leader in the Clubhouse as best TV show of the year. British miniseries about a 13-year-old boy accused of murdering a classmate. It's impeccably acted and captivated. The above trailer highlights the main conceit of the show. This manosphere, toxic masculinity, incel, Andrew Tate, 80/20 rule etc. As a parent it's terrifying that today's internet is making some kids into monsters that think women are the enemy. The parents are portrayed as, though not perfect, very loving. The internet is the guilty party here and what it does to impressionable minds. It's a show like this that will hopefully make parents be more mindful of what children consume online. Parents need to make children aware of the manosphere and how toxic it is. I think if a parent's child shows an affinity for Andrew Tate, some serious actions need to be taken.
  6. Watching ya'll freak out as this election slips through PPs hands will be entertaining.
  7. It's called Centrism. This will get him elected.
  8. DoFo has said he won't campaign for PP. This will be one of the most historic political collapses in history. PP and the CPC peaked too early. I think Canadians see this group of LPC cabinet ministers as fighting for them. They associate PP with Trumpism. I'm usually a CPC supporter but it'll be a hard sell to make me believe PP can lead this country better than Mark Carney.
  9. The "King" doesn't have any real power. I doubt Trump would agree to be the "Head of State" replacing the monarchy. I still haven't even heard a proposal to address how adding Canada to mix in the US will affect their electoral dynamics. I suspect they'd want us to be like Puerto Rico.
  10. While Mark Carney is in the bullpen getting ready for whatever he's going to do. Canada's premiere is speaking for the ENTIRE country.
  11. I have to think that's being whittled away simply by Canadian consumers boycotting anything American.
  12. Just like with oil. If the US could be independent of imports they would already. Sure the US produces their own potash, but without Canadian imports their food supply would be compromised. This is actually Canada's "Trump Card". Cut off raw mineral exports and the US really do suffer. This is why Trump keeps talking about annexing Canada. That way he's not beholden to another country's imports. But calling Canada a "State" is insulting. In reality if Canada was given their due in the US electoral system, the Republicans would never hold majority status again. The US was brought into WW2 because they cut off Japan's oil supply, causing an attack. Would the US militarily intervene if Canada stopped importing their natural resources?
  13. The trade deficit comes from energy and mineral imports. We see from this week where Dofo implemented a meager 25% Export levy on 3 states with Democrat governors. 45/47 lost his shit. Imagine if Danielle Smith or Scott Mo grow a pear and implement export levies on oil and potash. This trade war will end quite quickly.
  14. This is true. It also forces employers to shoulder the cost of healthcare.
  15. We're entering into Mad King territory. Canada is standing up to Trump and he can't handle it. Nothing he's saying makes any sense. The billionaires that bankrolled his re-election couldn't have signed up for this.
  16. Trump is going to buy a Tesla to support Elon. This is getting sad.

    1. TreeBeard

      TreeBeard

The president hawking cars for his largest donor.  Corruption staring the media in the face.   Did they ask about it?  Point it out?

  17. The bluff here is that Trump says he doesn't need Canada. But they do. He wouldn't want to annex Canada if he didn't need what Canada offers via resources and educated citizens. What these past few weeks have shown us that the attempt to cripple Canada, will only prove to cripple average Americans first. Which is why Dofo actually following through on a threat really stings. Someone's actually called his bluff. It's erratic and dumb behaviour, that even Americans can see.
  18. JT said the quiet part out loud today.
  19. No it's good for certain companies. Wealth will move FROM America not into it...Thanks to Trump.
  20. Trump has no problem making it political. You do if you want to ensure Putin doesn't invade again. And Hegseth is threatening to remove them. The EU will do more now that the US isn't a reliable ally. Canada will do the same.
