  1. I don't want to vote for JT, but the CPC just voted down a softball resolution claiming Climate Change is real. FFS!

Anyone advocating for carbon taxes is advocating against Canadians and against the middle class, all for the purpose of virtue signalling.  Making Canadian workers and Canadian businesses less competitive globally and making China stronger.  It’s absolutely lunacy.  Stop now please.

Coal makes up about 7% of Canada's grid. That could easily be replaced by other sources.

Carbon taxes hit most people in transportation costs. Costs that have been higher in the past. Gas is still cheaper than it was in 2008. Almost all Automakers are moving towards EV solutions in the next 10 years. Some are already there.

What really makes Canadian manufacturing uncompetitive is an inflated Petrodollar built on an unpopular and unsustainable tar sands industry.

Canada has had crappy productivity numbers for decades. It's not because of the oil sands but because of our corporate culture of not bothering to invest in employee training, R&D and technological improvements.

The oil and gas industry contributes about $17 billion in taxes every year and employs over 400k Canadians, directly or indirectly, in mostly well paying jobs. You might be ready to write it and them off but I'm not.
