What I mean is, Hudak should be owning this campaign and he's not. If he opened up this campaign by differentiating himself from other conservatives and talking about all of his plans rather than talking more about what McGuinty has done, he'd have walked to an easy victory. By getting endorsed by and hanging out with likeminded Conservatives, he shot himself in the foot IMO. Pretty much guaranteed a minority of one party or another because of those people, like myself, who believe true blue "group think" and ideological lap dogs are both a sure thing and a bad thing when we have one way of thinking in Ontario politics.

Stick to the lies we know are lies, rather than guess what the truths are from others. It's probably what people are thinking. "Yeah, I know McGuinty lies but, life hasn't been that bad under him." And what people fail to think about is that their life has been so good because the government has been spending more than it gets. I'm pretty sure, every public secture union is expecting wage freezes under any party. I'd be surprised if the teachers' federation doesn't expect it coming. Wage freeze shouldn't even be a striking issue at this point. Now, wage rollbacks, that might be.

http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/politics/ontario-election/ontario-pc-leader-hudak-raises-spectre-of-liberal-ndp-coalition/article2187837/ The only reason he isn't winning is because of his own horrible campaign. He's been campaigning for official opposition this entire election. Pull out some more bogeymen, seal your defeat Tim.

No. I am wondering if Harper is playing "conservative lite" because he knows that there are a lot of provincial elections going on right now. He would, ideologically, want as many provinces as possible on the same page. That's all. Just look at Rob Ford and his negative impact on Hudak. Harper can't even keep his MP's from speaking out publicly against abortion, a topic the party has claimed it had no interest returning to. Yet he claims his party his more moderate.

Did you follow the polls leading up to May? Liberals were stagnant or dropping from poll to poll. We all know the only poll that matters is election day and, as seen in the federal election, enough voters are fickle enough to change their vote last minute to prevent something from happening that they don't like. What I'm looking to see though, is if Harper goes back to his insane right wing view after the Ontario election.

No matter how much you hate him, he's still been slowly trending up in all of the polls.

They also care little about the environment and education. Care most of all parties about immigration and taxes. [link] The PC redneck stereotype has some validity haha.

Nearly 40% of people with high school or lower education. support PC's. The least rational of all people.

PSA: Conservatives that haven't done their homework(as usual) and have decided to foam at the mouth at a "broken contract". There was NEVER a contract between the company and government in place. Thank you. "In my 17 years in elected office I don't think I've ever seen such a frivolous lawsuit," said Energy Minister Brad Duguid. "This company has no contract with the province at all and it's suggesting that somehow or another the province doesn't have a responsibility to ensure we take every environmental protection." - link

Ontario election debates
MiddleClassCentrist replied to capricorn's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
I watched the debate on multiple sources. All had the same poll of who won the debate in the interactive chat. All had Dalton more than 10 points above Hudak. Yet all I see today is commentary against that theory. Interesting. -
the liberals idea of education
MiddleClassCentrist replied to treehugger's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
Willfull ignorance doesn't deserve much more of a response. - Teaching kids about sex does not mean forcing them to question their identity. - Telling kids about gay and lesbian couples being two of the same sex does not make kids homosexual. Discussing such issues are important for a child to understand and accept their world. Their sensationalists act like they are going to be taught how to insert a penis into an anus and to perform oral sex on members of the same sex. -

Treehugger, Anyone who believes the shit at your link is an idiot. Just because they mention what it means, doesn't mean they force children to question their identity. EDIT: Your crappy ass site mispelt LINKS on its front page BTW. LIKS. Must have been a freudian slip... -
Yeah, I was interested in my personal riding too. But the smaller the area, the fewer the respondents. I wonder if I can find a list somewhere.
-
Latest poll shows PC and LP tied. 40000 respondents, enough for seat by seat break down. I haven't seen that released [updated, now I have below] but, they had the seats that will win the election (less than 2% lead). http://www.thestar.com/staticcontent/1058980

My wife's friend was applying for a position at a school board. 60k/year secretary. Way more than a starting teacher makes. -

Should Harper Remove Dechert From Caucus?
MiddleClassCentrist replied to August1991's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
WE have a strange standard that we put on modern politicians, the great politicians who we admire had many mistresses and other indiscretions in their personal life... Who cares if he flirted with a journalist? -
The average private school pays their school head ridiculous amounts but, teachers often make piddly squat 30k/year, 35k/year starting as opposed to 45k/year in public. Private schools are "political love havens" of conservatives, conservatives hate teachers... more pay at the regular private school? lol. The only private schools that pay teachers more are the private schools for elite or international students. $20k/year or more tuition. The majority have no pension plan, and fewer benefits because as a provincial group, teachers have huge buying power and get better deals. So they get less pay and fewer benefits but, their job is easier. Yeah, like you work with no lazy people. Just tired of the garbage "I'm conservative and only teachers are stupid because their jobs are too easy *foaming at mouth* argle bargle bargle bargle FREE MARKET argle bargle bargle" ... Ironically, the average teacher lives longer than the average person because they are more likely to follow health recomendations like quitting smoking... So in evolutionary terms...
