  1. I would hope for that. I don't like Tim. But I feel that Dalton McGuinty doesn't deserve a majority.
  2. They need to cut the subsidy (tax refund) to donations now. Be fair across all parties. Don't just target ones that favour other parties.
  3. So, you want a change of direction... By maintaining the direction? PC's start moving left, you go to keep it right?
  4. FPTP needs to go. Every vote needs to count. Especially since Harper is removing the per vote subsidy. At least with that I felt my vote meant something when my party had no chance of winning.
  5. Just means that the Wild Rose party will win seats for the insane right wing.
  6. I understand that. But media corps shouldn't get it both ways. They want to sell us a 'license' to individually access content so we can't share. They want to charge us for a new copy when the media is damaged or faulty. If we already have the license, we shouldn't need to buy another copy. That is taking advantage of consumers unethically.
  7. Based on hearing grumpy old conservatives talk at dinner. They used illegal (closed) loopholes to pay 0 tax and kept complaining about tax. Fat chance if anyone is going ot get hard numbers on that so I'll have to use my experience and general understanding that rich people are way more likely to be conservative and are way more likely to commit tax fraud. Who really pays taxes? The stable environment and infrastructure allow the wealthy to carry on and profit from our society.
  8. Absolutely right. It's like buying a house only to find out that the basement has a lock on it and you aren't allowed to use it... but if you break the lock you are fined for it. Shouldn't people be able to back up their content?
  9. Polls pointing more toward potential Liberal majority.
  10. Sorry you haven't been following the election since day one. "I'm not going to cut funding to health care or education" "We will keep full day kindergarten" etc etc. Any plan that was half decent was what McGuinty was already doing. The rest of his plans were hogwash.
  11. Conservatives don't use facts or science to base their decisions on, only ideology. Because of this, they will run Canada into the ground over time.
  12. 1. Find a tax evader, he's likely a conservative supporter. 2. The wealthy disproportionately benefit from infrastructure and public services. 3. The conservative mentality would convince you to cut the pizza slices smaller so they can afford to get a whole pizza themselves. It's why many unions don't agree to concessions easily, because right after they do, the CEO gets huge bonuses in their face.
  13. And fail to differentiate yourself from the guy that you are attacking. "He's garbage, he has made so many mistakes!" And your plans are? "To do what he is doing in most areas!"
  14. All part of the conservative dream world where everyone gets paid the lowest wage possible and we live in straw shacks and mud huts. Except for the top 1-5% of course.
  15. They are directly targetting anything that might keep them from retaining power. I want to see their books. Being that fraud convictions are an asset when helping the con party, they probably fudge their numbers better than most. So it might be of no use anyways. The Conservatives want an autocracy with the veil of democracy. Removing opposition by unethical means. It will only get worse.
  16. Corporations have one goal: Generate profit at all costs (monetary, social, environmental, legal) they can get away with. Unions have one goal: To protect the interest, safety, wage and working conditions of their workers. One goal is clearly more noble than the other.
  17. The only people demanding that the numbers be published publicly are those like you who want to criticize and nit pick expenditures that you have no business or say in, in your war on Unions. Nothing more. A Solution looking for a problem...
  18. Harm? Not getting mail 2 days a week because the employees are striking? ... Incovenience. Harm? Having to switch a flight to another carrier? ... Inconvenience. No one was harmed. This far right conservative ideology where an inconvenience is warped into some extreme injustic of pain is disgusting. FOR THE CORPORATION! Let's take away all worker power. Let's have mud huts as houses. Let's have expendable workers with no safety precautions. Safety precautions cost more than retraining of course. The Far Right Conservative Wet Dream.
  19. Easy. Ontario Teachers' Federation has an annual meeting that teacher's can go to. The members know their budget, if they care enough to go. My brother is in another union and is actively involved. He also sees the annual budget. It's there for any union member that wants to see how the money is budgetted. Conservatives have this "solution" looking for a problem. Most people don't even know what they are talking about. There is no conspiracy to hide union budgets from their members.
  20. Excuse me, the employer has no part in negotiation? What a sick attitude. Lets all just legislate everyone who makes under $90,000 a year to minimum wage and be done with it... The conservative utopia paradise!
  21. I find this ironic. Harper is being a political thug toward Unions. Rather than let disputes be negotiated, he beats the unions into submission with legislation. It's like a high school kid going to a local elementary school to pick on kids who can't fight back. We should be embracing the rights of people. Not corporations. Harper has it backwards.
  22. Union members already get to see the finances... They have annual reports.
  23. Article Link Personally, I don't really like when Media endorses any party. But for that matter, federal or municipal politicians shouldn't be endorsing parties either. [i edited the title to better represent the content]
  24. You mean the guy who cut technological education in public school down very little funding? Technological education, that teaches innovation and hands on skills? REAL JOB SKILLS TRAINING? ... yep. Saviour indeed.
