  1. All sounds good in theory till the time you have to define what Canada is, who is Canadian, what our mutual goal is and so on. I have a very basic problem. I want to buy myself a good pair of winter waterproof hunting (muck) boots made in Canada for $50-$100 but guess what? They want to sell me a pair made in China for $200. Can you solve my problem?
  2. They have no news of criminal activity any more. All they talk about is sanitizing, washing hands, buying masks, tenant eviction restrictions or rent raise suspensions and what not. There is virtually no regular news any more. Well, some of it is due to cancelled events that did not take place to get in the news. Also how can one in the US do a mass shooting at a theater, school, concert or workplace when those are closed. (sarc.)
  3. What is the "economy" anyways? Just exploiting and destroying the environment to increase our numbers beyond the 8 billion mark at the expense of all other species? F* the economy!
  4. Since the start of the endemic, I can hardly find a title on CBC not having the distinct COVID-19 mark in it. Did we all stop to live. Anything else happening in this country?
  5. I can agree with anything else , but this line, which may also be true, however we do not know yet. Not touching surfaces others touch is easily said than done. Think about the grocery basket handles at the store, the washroom door knobs, any time you pass an item to someone or others pass to you and finally the possibility of viruses suspended in the air. We know nothing and this is why we have all these severe measures in place and the markets reacting to it.
  6. How do you support an economy that is at a standstill and will not start to produce? Buying only depletes the supplies.
  7. I am afraid our system will collapse completely and we can start killing one another over food, once the supply chains are disrupted. There have been fights in stores over toilet paper already. EI and money from the government helps nothing. People still need to go to work and produce.
  8. I am perfectly fine banning them. Those eating dogs, cats, bats, tadpoles and those that are still willing to buy parts from critically endangered species are not my brothers. Sub-humans of some sort, maybe.
  9. 200 some sick people in BC and it feels like we are at war with Viet-Nam or some other nation. Empty shelves, people with masks driving in their cars in a city with 0 cases; no hairdressers, no restaurants, no flights, no nothing! Seems like our system was pretty fragile.
  10. And how do you do that when you have no alternative product made in North America? China is not to blame. It is the A-holes on this continent who outsourced production there.
  11. We can see how it works with 300 million Americans like you, where every now and then someone blows a fuse resulting in a mass shooting.
  12. What's the agreement? Last I heard they were still opposed to the pipeline.
  13. This is because of generations of people using the wrong terminology. I want to be able to call the residents of India or immigrants from India "Indians" and not "East Indians". There is no such thing as West Indians, although I have heard of the West Indies (the Caribbeans)
  14. The main problem I see with this is they have nothing to do with India. The fact someone decided to call them 'Indians" because that someone thought they found a new route to India is indeed offending. Maybe we should give them the right to come up with a name for themselves as a group and use it. Same with black people. They were called n* in the past which was apparently so offending that I cannot even use it here. Then "black" was offending too. Now they call them "people of color". I still do not think this is a proper term. If they can think of a name they can identify with and be proud of, I can use it. This would make everyone's life a bit easier.
  15. Clearly you have absolutely zero idea what you are talking about.
  16. There is no such thing. This is utopia. Economic prosperity (growth) is unsustainable. Bringing 300,000 new people into the country every year while turning the healthy forests into a wasteland is unsustainable.
  17. Yes, various bands, but not "the various bands". As we can see some were against it, or we would not be seeing this level of opposition. Think about this. I am against each and every pipeline, mine or road built into the wilderness. Does anyone know about it or cares about it? No. I just do not matter. If you have hundreds of thousands in opposition, then you can see a few dozen actually doing something noticeable.
  18. Did you miss this part while reading: "Michelle Narang of Rocky Mountain House, Alta., first posted the graphic on her Facebook page Wednesday evening. She said a friend who works in the oil and gas industry texted her a photo of the decal and told her an X-Site employee had been handing them out" Why do you think and X-Site employee will be handing those out, if it had nothing to do with them and they knew nothing about it?
  19. Call them rednecks, canucks, whatever. Clearly they displayed what was on their minds, which was raping the girl. Then they were sick and stupid enough to make a decal out of it. It shows you it wasn't a single person who is sick, but at least a bunch of them. As to the blockades, I find them appropriate, considering the group involved opposed the pipeline, but its territory was invaded by construction workers and the RCMP regardless.
  20. Absolutely. Only a person who has no idea what a socialist country is can raise the question. EI is not a social / socialist program. It is insurance, like car insurance for example. You do not get to collect EI unless you have worked and contributed to the pool. It is shocking to see so many people pointing at EI as a sign of socialism.
  21. Supporting oil and gas is supporting these guys: https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/edmonton/greta-thunberg-xsite-energy-sexual-image-1.5478561 Rapists of the environment and rapists of children. They do not even hide it but present it in "art" and are proud of it.
  22. Don't we have a national debt already? Don't US have a national debt? Just about every country seems to be bankrupt and by who? Money is owed to whom? Our world is a big scam; a pyramid of sorts. We at the bottom only try to manage things at our micro level and still most of us are again in debt.
  23. E.I. is not a social program. You first pay into it to get money back. Education is paid. Not like in the good old days in the Socialist block countries or even many western countries like Germany. Old age, again, you would have paid a s*t load of income tax before you get to that. Social welfare is the welfare cheque, the Food Bank, the sponsored educational programs (retraining etc.), subsidized housing. When I think about it, not many welfare programs exist. This is why
  24. I do not currently avail of any social welfare program in any shape or form. However, the way we (politely put , as I have nothing to do with it) have built the economy in this country, the moment resource extraction stops, many of us will end up unemployed. I just do not want to see more people pumped into this country as fuel for the resource sector. If we end up with 50% unemployment those idiots in the government will have to curb immigration.
