No, I disagree. The Conservative scandal? Really? $90k - and that wasn't taxpayer money. Sponsorship scandal - now that's a scandal. The NDP's taking money out of the house to upgrade their offices? Now that's a scandal where 46 NDPers are now up [expletive] creek. Pick the turd that smells the least. You may not like Harper, but you know what you're getting, and after 10 years of office, they may not be squeaky clean, but they are at least cleaner than the Liberals.

The Niqab discussion and the removing of citizenship have been MONTHS in the making, well before they hired that strategy guy and well before the election.

It's almost like the Liberal supporter has "their poll" which shows Trudeau as front runner. Same with the Conservatives. Same can't be said of the NDP though :|

I am aware of that as well. However, there were two individuals. That was the voice of one of them. I guess at this point, I'm looking at the principles behind the matter, and a legit issue was raised. Also, we don't know if that's her choice privately as well. If anything, she could have been told by her husband how to act.

Agreed. I didn't mean to come across in any other way. I know some on my team with 3/4 passports from different countries. If they threaten to blow up the UK, that passport should be revoked. If they threatened to blow up France, that one would be revoked. So on and so forth. EDIT: The Conservatives were asked today if they would include rapists, child molesters etc - and the answer was no. They simply wanted to include terrorist acts as grounds to remove citizenship. I'm definitely for that and appalled the NDP/Liberal disagree.

I am VERY aware of this. If I had it my way, niqabs should be banned (hint: i'm not caucasian). But the citizenship ceremony is one that promotes Canadian values. The husband can be pissed all he wants, but if Canadian legislation is allowing the female to experience Canada in "all its glory", there's nothing the husband or whatever can say about it. That's why I'm FOR the PM's stance on this. It's sad they have to put it back on against their wishes, but at a citizenship ceremony? Oh come on.

Same here. My other passport is from a country that can't even rescind their own passport, so I'm good there. And international law prevents that. Citizenship is a privilege. I'm an immigrant and I realize that committing treason, an act of terror, or being convicted of a war crime are all things that should cause Canada to give me the boot.

C24 is a step in the right direction. International law currently forbids what you are proposing, but it's a step in the right direction. Nobody conquered Rome in one day.

Absolutely agreed. Women are EQUAL, and when these women come from backgrounds which oppress women, they need to know their government stands behind them for them to at least briefly experience true equality. Their husbands can't say jack because the government has mandated it, as it should be.

And what if the judicial system cannot keep them in jail? One is eligible for parole next year. You want them anywhere near you? The extent of the law is IMHO, in this case, not capable of dealing with these morons who want to kill us.

Then see if they qualify for another passport, grab that and expunge their Canadian citizenship. If not possible, suck it up, can't win every battle That's what they are doing...using the judicial system and letting them deport them (C24 allows them to do so) - and the ability to revoke citizenship has been around forever (treason etc), this is just adding terrorism.
