  1. O tell us more stories about things that were wrong before and cannot have different outcomes in other contexts. Or maybe they can. Of course there are no stories of immigration having actual negative effects on the original population, never ever happens.
  2. That would be almost....Conservative level evil. Anyway, i do enjoy the discussion among some of the most politically fringe people on the forum of how we need to change the system to benefit all Canadians...right. Your valiant efforts to help the 90% of us who are ok with not screwing up what has worked in the the best country in the world will be long remembered, o but the green party is underrepresented!, maybe it deserves to be, but the communist party is underrepresented..yea..this is about all of us, not them, surely.
  3. We already have two centrist parties, more or less, if the NDP wants to be one of them it might as well join the liberals, otherwise it can be that further to the left party it always has been, in which case it will always be treated as the party that is too far to the left. I would much prefer if Mulcair was the liberal leader, in fact I would have voted for the liberals in that case, I dont think the result of this election is about him, they ended up back right about where they were before a very charismatic Jack Layton took great advantage of a specific set of circumstances that didn't exist this time. The NDP was never going to win this election, probably not under any circumstance, but certainly not with the heir apparent running for the liberals, most of us just think they are too far left, but that is what they are and there is no room for them to be anything else.
  4. Who is "they"? All of the countries involved were sworn to secrecy, so does that mean it is bad for all of them? Why would any of them do it then?
  5. The developed world is not going to destroy it's own economy in a kumbaya attempt to fix the climate, sorry kids, it's not going to happen, you can't elect Trudeau enough times to make it happen, 10 years from now nothing of substance will have changed and the temperature will probably have increased. Just as it has since the first of these summits, and all of them since, those of you who are expecting something tangibly better out of this government are going to be no less disaapointed than you have been in the last two. The diffference being is that not only do the liberals not care about your beleifs, they are the most willing to lie about how much they care, and just as they always do, will give all the appearances of working with just about anyone, while accomplishing nothing. It's a harsh, grown up, reality.
  6. Careful now, you're going to get your comments deleted and the thread locked for pointing out ridiculous things like this.
  7. I suppose it would be dificult to spend less than the 90's liberals who decimated the country with budget cuts, actual real ones, unlike the phony lies that have been told about the conservatives, i doubt you much care about that truth. anyway, and fyi. your links dont work.
  8. We should ask the Canadians who have to pay for it first.
  9. Rex Murphy hits another home run. http://news.nationalpost.com/full-comment/rex-murphy-if-ontarios-teachers-unions-are-non-partisan-then-bulldozers-are-flying-machines Remember, you can be sure that the vast majority of the people who voted for this corrption last time around also voted for our new federal government, while these same Ontario liberals and the unions they subsidize with our money campaigned on their behalf, but it seems that to liberals this is just a natural state of being.
  10. Right, just like the infrastructure spending was costed and not the least bit misleading.
  11. O come now, Canadians, real ones, don't think like that! The 'nice liberal, perfectly progressive' myth strikes again. O and don't disagree, you're a racist otherwise.
  12. Please provide us with evidence and actual numbers which can educate us about how many prostitutes are for lack of a better word 'normal', as in, no different than most women who aren't prostitutes.
  13. You're probably right, they don't have to use a calculator to know that their irresponsibility leads to more, pretend all you wish that all people on welfare are there because they just can't help it, but the reality simply doesn't reflect that. And of course you want them to have those means, probably because you aren't paying for it.
  14. Unless it's a conservative policy like income splitting, which also helps mom's stay home, then it's bad, or was.
  15. Well, in theory im not against the change, of course it might be that the change is empty posturing by the NDP, making it meaningless and unnecessary.
  16. Of course it is, you probably actually believe that, but im sure in your mind there is nothing they have done that hasn't been harmful, which of course would be utterly ridiculous, meaning you and the writer of this list have zero credibility. That sort of thing used to matter, but not any more it seems. So in future instead of governments doing new things they should spend all of their time undoing what the previous has done.
  17. Now would be the perfect time to prove it, prove that climate change, which has only really started affecting us for the last 50 years or so (the, we burn too much carbon climate change) is at fault and be sure to prove that it isn't one of a hundred other things that are at fault when you do it. Where are people eating sand where they weren't 50 ears ago, because of climate change, and where are people drowning, because of climate change, and climate change alone. Of course you can't, then again it's easy to prove that the things you mention have happened many times in the recent history of civilization, im assuming we weren't at fault four thousand years ago, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/4.2_kiloyear_
  18. What a bigoted remark, you know there are many millions of Canadians who don't live on icebergs, or say, in the GTA etc. who never, ever had mail delivery. But they don't count I guess, most of them live...in a rural area, ick.
  19. It should have been fixed long ago, it's ridiculous, and maybe a bit frightening, that Canadians are, or our leaders believe we are so small that we can't understand why the residence of our PM should be kept up. It should be to an extent, a reflection of the greatness of the country, what it would cost to properly maintain is a pittance. For whatever reason Trudeau has decided not to move in, it is in the end, the right choice.
  20. Of course, those things are on the same level, to people incapable of rational thought.
  21. "Notice how inclusive Trudeau has been with the Muslim community, making sure to let them know that he does not paint them all with the same brush? Harper never did anything like that out of fear of his base (or perhaps his own personal inclinations) and he ended up alienating a very important aspect in fighting terrorism - and that's the participation of moderate Muslims." Your Words. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/politics/harper-invites-muslim-families-to-24-sussex-to-break-the-ramadan-fast/article25088630/ Something no other PM had done, but of course when it's Justin he does it becuase he really, really cares, and Harper, well, just trying to get elected. Or maybe the truth is somehwere in between and painting the soon to be former PM as a racist or xenophobe while splashing some of that paint on his suppporters is a ridiculous thing to do, but if you are going to do it anyway, maybe you should at least not make demonstrably false statements when doing it. Heaven forbid if someone doesn't just play nice and let you do it.
  22. O I read it, but you wrote it, you can change it later if you wish but this quote "Notice how inclusive Trudeau has been with the Muslim community, making sure to let them know that he does not paint them all with the same brush? Harper never did anything like that out of fear of his base (or perhaps his own personal inclinations) and he ended up alienating a very important aspect in fighting terrorism - and that's the participation of moderate Muslims." Is all yours, and you didnt change it, maybe you should try getting your news from something other than that rag, the tyee. Sorry about the condecension, but I wont pretend that what you wrote wasn't silly, when it is easily proven to be.
  23. It just keeps getting better, let me see if i can explain how taxes work, the government takes your money, no matter how much of your money you can manage to keep, it is in fact your money, money you worked for, the government takes money from you and uses it for things we need, and sometimes gives it to people who don't work for it. There is no circumstance under which it is wrong for the person working for the money to keep as much of it as they can, it is however wrong to have it taken from you for some no good reason, which the government does all of the time.
  24. http://tidesandcurrents.noaa.gov/sltrends/sltrends_station.shtml?stnid=8723170 What strikes about that graph is how the sea level rise there has been at a consistent rate since 1900, not only is climate change destroying the planet now, it also seems to have mastered time travel, o but I know we aren't supposed to point out some of these inconsistencies, it's just not nice to talk about facts in the face of ideology.
  25. The obvious difference being that you were wrong, that you were making things up, and you were caught, which is something that happens often to your side of this argument, but of course you are supposed to be able to make things up with impunity, while everyone else is supposed to be nice about the mistruths you repeat. Right, this is why we have a liberal government today, their leader might have proven himself over and over to be a boob, but he promises to be nice, and a nice, child like PM is better than one that tells you things you don't want to hear, correctness is irrelevant.
