And it appears the Chinese, after losing face in the Hague, are attempting to "probe" the defenses (and response) of nations in the region: And to the North, a poke in the eye of the Japanese: Interesting times.....

Still Going to Buy the F-35, Really?
Derek 2.0 replied to Hoser360's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Makes it hard for Trudeau to claim the F-35 "doesn't work" now that our NORAD partners have it in active service........ -
Still Going to Buy the F-35, Really?
Derek 2.0 replied to Hoser360's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
And that is no different then the progression of any other aircraft......the difference, with legacy aircraft that is denoted with the differing production blocks and versions (i.e. F-16 A/B then the F-16 C/D etc) and though older legacy aircraft can be "upgraded", the involves a near rebuild of the aircraft........updating the F-35's software involves pulling a data board from an access hatch in the aircraft and installing the new software.......night and day difference. As to spare parts and qualified techs, that is no different then any other aircraft system introduced into any military....this now active squadron will see the rest of the bases fighter wing (388th Fighter WIng) transition (along with their Reserve Wing) in rapid succession from the F-16 to the F-35A...... -
Still Going to Buy the F-35, Really?
Derek 2.0 replied to Hoser360's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Yes indeed......a huge problem, which resulted in the F-35's having to squawk IFF to give the OPFOR height, course and speed......from what I understand, the "unstealthy" F-35 defeated the latest AESA radar for the Patriot missile batteries, the radars for the new MEADS air defense system and the airborne radar on an E-3 Sentry..........but somehow the decades less advanced radars from the Russians and Chinese will be able to "see" the F-35 -
It appears as if another Email dump is about to be released........more on the Clinton foundation (dealings with China and Arab states?).....and more on the Clinton email scandal, including one with her instructing someone to break the law? I don't know how she didn't get charged......Christ on a cracker, Nixon resigned over 2 minutes of missing recordings......Clinton has tens of thousands of missing emails? Regardless........everyone should start to get use to the words: "President Trump".......

I quoted your own words directly.......not my fault that your position is confused.... -
Interesting circumstance at the DNC's convention: Interesting times......Trump appears posed to do to the Dems what he did to the GOP.......turn it on its collective head:

Hillary Chooses Tim Kaine as VP
Derek 2.0 replied to Big Guy's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Just like how Kaine opposes capital punishment.....but as governor oversaw 11 people getting the needle.......or how he opposes abortion, but has an A+ rating from planned parenthood........or opposed gay marriage until he didn't.....etc etc -------------- It looks like Trump received a bump in the battleground States post convention......I'd imagine the DNC leaked emails, demonstrating the sandbagging of Sanders, who was popular among blue collar voters in key rust belt States, will also help Trump...... -

You don't consider a war between NATO and Russia an existential threat to Canada? Why? If Russia, as you said, won't invade a member of NATO, what is there to assure them of? Huh? Putin won't invade a NATO nation........so we have to ensure Putin doesn't "toy" with NATO nations? Interesting orthodoxy you have there So if it isn't a deterrent, because Russia won't attack NATO, what is it? Again, you don't consider a war between Russia and NATO an existential threat to Canada and the World? Didn't you say that if Russia went to war with NATO: You don't consider a nuclear war an existential threat to Canada and the World? Don you know what existential means? -

Don't worry, I don't, I know what the NATO and differing Government docs say, they don't support your confused point........and this returns us to the point from earlier today: -You've stated there are no threats to Canada -You've stated Russia wouldn't invade a NATO country -YET- -Canada needs to assure our allies in the Baltic States that Russia won't invade them -Canada (and NATO) need to "whip out our army" to assure Putin that we would defend the Baltic States -Ergo- -Trudeau is either taking part in an unneeded military buildup in Eastern Europe, by whipping out our army to assure our NATO allies, likewise whipping out our army to deter Putin -or- - the Trudeau Government is addressing what they see as a conventional threat to Canada's interests, thus, this but one likely threat to Canada (something you say doesn't exist) is realistic enough to warrant a military response. So are you wrong or is the Trudeau government and NATO wrong? -

You are having to repeat yourself because your position makes zero sense, well ever shifting..... Why do we need to assure them? I thought you just said Russia would never invade a NATO country? Huh? What does internal NATO politics have to do with it? I thought you said Russia wouldn't invade a NATO country? Right here: If Russia isn't going to invade our NATO Allies, for fear of a nuclear response, hence is not a threat......why do the Eastern European NATO members need assurance and why do we need to assure Russia that we're not divided? This is your logic vacuum, be prepared to repeat yourself, ignore me or admit that you're confused, because you aren't going to baffle me with your bullshit. -

So why are the Eastern Europeans in need of feeling better? Furthermore, as you suggest, since Russia isn't going to invade a NATO country, why is the Trudeau government wasting scarce resources in Europe? -

"Slightly more likely", but "not really".......I see.......So what are we making Latvia (and the rest of Eastern Europe) feel better about? -

So is it more likely now, then say 5 years ago? 10 years ago? 25 years ago? -

Is Trudeau sending the Army to Europe because the threat of Putin is "unlikely"? -
20k? Did see that many.

Oh well......try reading the emails themselves from Wikileaks.
-
I'm sure there are, google is your friend.
-
This just confirms Trump's populism narrative for sure.
-
They were just going through the emails live on FNC........people can have their opinions, and voters opinions can be shaped by said opinions.
-
I agree, I'm not a fan of Trump, but I can't see how this doesn't help him in a close race.......I'm sure Clinton wishes she could have "lost" these emails from the DNC server......the DNC bashing gays, Jews and Sanders via email? What did they think was going to happen?
-
I don't think any of that will mater.......leaked internal DNC emails with derogatory passages covering gays and Jews, well sandbagging Sanders, sure won't hurt Trump.
-
Trump needs to win the "Rust belt"........Sanders carried several of the "Rust belt" States......could make for an interesting election.
-
And many thought the GOP convention was going to be a dumpster fire........The Democrats never cease to amaze......but I think all that have been following the travelling dog and pony shows shouldn't be the least surprised that the "fix was in" with regards to Sanders.

You might not, but the proverbial "Doomsday Clock" hasn't been this close to midnight since the early 1980s........its' presently 3 minutes to midnight, closer to midnight then through most of the Cold War......
