  1. No it doesn't........a tanker full of fuel from Kinder Morgan could end the precursor to the plastics used in making recycling boxes in a factory powered by solar........inversely, an equal sized tanker of LNG could be used to fuel unit trains and dump trucks used in the process of mining coal.......
  2. You wanted to speak to the bigger picture.......a modern VW hybrid, recycling dinosaur bones from Northern Alberta, still pollutes less than 1977 Ford camper special on natural gas..........
  3. Nice......but it doesn't account for the amount of carbon/energy used in its extraction and refinement of the given energy source........Pacific LNG will pollute slightly more then the Syncrude oil sands and the largest coal plant in Canada.
  4. If built, this massive LNG plant will be the largest carbon emitter in Canada......surpassing the oil sands upgrader in Mordor........Trudeau's doing the whole climate change thing backwards...
  5. Exactly.......it almost as if the Liberals weren't paying attention.......The Harper Conservatives lost support in BC over their approach to energy development.........The Liberal's lied and misrepresented their position and followed the Tories position anyways..........and they expected better results? ---------- Provincially, the word on the street is this and Kinder Morgan are/will be payback to Clark for some unbeknownst back room deal with the Federal Liberals..........her support, after the election, of Trudeau's "price on carbon" and cuts to Provincial Health transfers perhaps.....
  6. Not in British Columbia........the Trudeau Liberals (and Clark) are being pilloried in BC, not only over this, but Site C and the Woodfibre LNG plant near Whistler/Squamish...... In today's market, no it won't get built, but then market needs aren't static........I'd be far more worried over the propensity for corruption between Petronas and the Malaysian government and the BC/Federal Liberals.... Does Najib Razak have pictures of Trudeau with a hooker or something.........
  7. I don't disagree, without a doubt he started off with a manner of poise, likewise landed some good blows on Clinton.......but both Clinton and the moderator gave Trump enough rope to hang himself with, and in some cases he did.......I'm surprised though that he didn't go after Bill Clinton and the Clinton foundation, thats too his advantage. My point though, much the same can be said of Trump throughout the GOP primaries......and it did not mater one iota.....at the end of the day, Trump was Trump and Clinton was a snooty old bag......I doubt the debate will have much an effect for either's fortunes, but I guess we shall see later this week when the creditable polls are finished and released.
  8. Nope, the BC Liberals are a mix of Federal Liberals, conservatives (including the Progressive sort) and namely the base that made up Social Credit.......there is a "BC Conservative Party" but they are like a mix of Wild Rose and Tea Party and don't have a hope in hell of forming Government and next to zero chance to win a seat, except perhaps in a few social conservative ridings in the Fraser Valley outside of Vancouver.
  9. There is no doubt, on paper, Clinton won hands down in the debate......but then, Trump also lost debates to Jeb Bush, Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz etc etc....
  10. I never would have said that, he did have a pipeline lobbyist on his campaign staff after all, but he appears to be anti urban BC voter, anti First Nation, anti Great Bear rain forest and anti environmentalist to the tune of increasing BC's carbon footprint by upwards of 10% with this one plant........be there no doubt though, he is pro Christy Clark.......that ought to be to his benefit in British Columbia circa 2019.....
  11. Didn't Butts help craft the Ontario clean energy program too?
  12. And there we go, the two Trudeau cronies.......Butts and Telford: Over $200K to move the two from Toronto to Ottawa..........because its 2016. Edit to add Liberal integrity:
  13. Oh thats the least of my worries with the BC NDP, I'm far more concerned with what they would do.....not what their party did........as I said, John Horgan is my MLA and I have no doubt if I had two votes he would still be returned to Victoria.... Likewise the BC Liberals not receiving several thousand dollars from my wife and I in the form of donations and annual membership dues.......instead we're donating the same amount to Weaver and one of the ridings up Island where the Greens might be able to dislodge an NDP MLA.... We don't look at it as a protest vote, if in a small way we can help the Greens double (or triple) their seat total.....who knows, they could hold the balance of power in a minority Government..... Dix might not be leader, but the policies that lost him the election are still there.......
  14. Either the Liberals don't know or they aren't telling with regards to the "unaccounted" ~685k ------------ What did Duffy, Harb, Wallin and Brazeau's expenses total again????
  15. That's a good question, per the CBC linked article, the Liberals can't account (or won't) for nearly 700K of the million+ spent.
  16. Uhh.....aren't we talking about it now? That would seem pretty transparent.....These figures are the totals as of June of this year, when the Official Opposition requested them......likewise all the other "Liberal spending" figures obtained through access to information requests........ In my mind this is more effective, the Queen's Opposition doing their job, through legally obtained documents, protecting the public's tax dollars.....far better then having to rely upon someone in the Government with integrity (or an axe to grind) stealing said documents and leaking them to the press.
  17. Because the "open and transparent" Liberals won't release who spent what........CBC has an interactive graph with a breakdown of expenses by department and who approved what....but more damning from the CBC: Bev Oda resigned for pissing away several thousand on limos and hotel upgrades.......and promptly resigned.....I don't know in what universe these Liberal Ministers involved, with nearly 3/4ers of a million dollars in "unexplained expenses", unrelated to their staffers moves, keep their jobs...............this is graft pure and simple, and there is now blood in the water......if Trudeau doesn't fire these Ministers this will hang around his neck and he'll spend a whole wack of political capital.....capital he is going to need to spend to enact all of his unpopular policies with this Fall sitting...
  18. From the Harper regime, using the same rules: And when its verified or not, we can compare what Harper era aides expenses were over nearly a decade versus what Trudeau's were in less than a year.
  19. Here's some additional "details": Furthermore: The Liberals are back!!!!!!!!!
  20. Well, eight months out now and Clark is already attempting to bribe voters with their own money and we've got our first poll: Though there is still plenty of time, and despite polling right up to the last election saying the NDP would win, something like the above is what I think will happen next Spring. I've voted Social Credit and then BC Liberals in every election since 1983, but I highly doubt that I'll be voting for the Liberals this time around......I've never liked Clark, despite voting for her party during the last election, but I'm truly fed up with her and her inner circle and its ties to the Ontario and Federal Liberals.....I'm of the opinion that the Liberals need to loose an election to get rid of her (or drop a house on her) and her cadre. Now I know the NDP will be a disaster, and I would never vote for them (nor does it mater well living on Vancouver Island, in the leaders riding, the safest of safe seats for the BC NDP), nor would I vote for the kooks in the BC Fraser Valley Conservative Party..........that leaves me with Andrew Weaver and the Greens. Now the Federal Greens are kooks, but I could swallow the BC Greens because they divested themselves from the Federal Greens and its anti-Israel policies. I like Andrew Weaver (my Father's MLA by happenstance) and support the Greens position on scrapping Site C.....despite opposing them on their stance on other resource development projects, including pipelines. I just think the BC Liberals need a time out so they can divest themselves of Clark......in my perfect world a Liberal or NDP minority would be whats needed.....just enough to toss Clark, well preventing the NDP from turning the Province into a dumpster fire. What do you think will happen versus what should happen?
  21. Per the CTV link, several Ministers......for those in the PMO....who knows...Butts maybe?
  22. Sure, its not too bad by sealift, from Montreal or Hay River to the Western Arctic, $3000-5000 for a pick-up or a small container........air freight is where the big money comes into play........but even if the Trudeau Government was moving these staffers households by air it still wouldn't account for this largess..........
  23. Exactly.....thats what? Four or five middle class household incomes in a year???
