  1. Indeed........and if the police withdrew and allowed the community to be continually looted and burnt to the ground, the police would be called racist………..I imagine this won’t stop, with news that the Black Panthers and other professional protest groups are inbound, coupled with the State police taking control………any bets on if/when the Guard will be called in?
  2. Are the reports of firebombs and rocks thrown at police untrue? And no, I don’t see a relative difference between police back then, armed with automatic carbines and armoured trucks, and police today, armed with select fire carbines and armoured trucks…………
  3. What makes those police officers paramilitary? Carbines, ballistic vests and armoured trucks? How does that signal policing becoming more paramilitary? How is that different then prohibition era police armed with Tommy guns, conducting raids with armoured trucks?
  4. A solution to any further looting, posted on the local Craigslist.
  5. No desperation at all, for its usage is common parlance for aircraft of a common technological generation……….Used by industry and end users alike…….That you choose not to accept this is all on you, and I’ll refrain from debating the point further.
  6. The use of armed "drones" has been ongoing for decades:
  7. I never suggested improvements would not be gained, but they will not replace manned flight in its entirety, as confirmed by said roadmaps outlined by various militaries and manufactures…..Will the 7th or 8th generation; in the latter half of this century see such advances? Perhaps, but that doesn’t change the fact that F-35 production will extend into the 2030s, with each user having an expected 35+ years of operational use………..
  8. Would you assert the F-22 to be 5th generation? If so, do you feel the same people that built the 5th generation F-22, would design and build an aircraft, after the F-22’s development, to a technological level found decades earlier? This meme of yours is truly desperate.
  9. A claimed supported by the roadmaps in place for numerous militaries and manufactures………Your claim is supported by what exactly? Also, do you have any insight as to when I can purchase a Jetsons inspired hovercraft or jet-pack?
  10. The 5th generation of programs is clearly defined already (X-32, X-35 & F-35, F-22, T-50 etc) and clearly contrasted by current legacy types that had their design roots in the 70s and 80s………And programs that will constitute the 6th generation of programs in the 2030s & 40s. I have zero inclination to counter APA’s claim, fore that would signal a level of creditability within their unsubstantiated methodology.
  11. I don’t expect advances within that timeframe that will allow for a completely autonomous UAV that can completely replace manned flight……….and it’s hardly Lockheed/JSF agitprop, for Lockheed, Northrop and BAE all are currently developing their own UAV/UCAV as a compliment to manned flight, manned flight that includes 5th and 6th generation aircraft programs.
  12. A Russian gaming site would have the same creditability as APA………Where did Goon get his information to create his methodology for his chart for his ZOCT scoring? Why none other than his own blog………..We can be certain that APA has not only an inside track on performance data of American aircraft, but classified Russian and Chinese programs………… You do know that APA advocates for nations a mythical purchase of F-22s, coupled with a strong push for the RAAF to have retained and “upgraded” their ancient F-111 fleet………and that his criticisms are not only leveled at the F-35, but also Super Hornet, which he feels the RAAF selection of has put them at a great disadvantage to the Indonesian air force……
  13. What advances? Also, why do the partner nations all cite an out of service date in that timeframe?
  14. Your source for the chart?..........It's not a Russian video game site is it?
  15. There is no indication, based on current and proposed programs (F-35..6th generation fighter…next generation helicopters and bombers etc.) that unmanned flight will supersede manned flight in that timeframe……….All current partners intend to operate their planned F-35 fleets through the middle of this century (and likely beyond)……….Nobody plans to operate 4th generation aircraft like the Super Hornet out to the 2050s. Of note, DND has dropped the proposed JUSTAS program, and now favours manned options……..akin to the USAF retiring a portion of their Global Hawk UAV fleet in favour of maintaining the U-2 fleet….
  16. So why do no militaries share your opinion that operating the Super Hornet out to the middle of the century is a viable approach?
  17. That you feel there is nothing wrong with alienating a segment of the Legion membership with wedge politics is truly sad…….And the Legion will continue to wither….
  18. The point is clearly lost on you……there are a great many vehicles already available for Canadians to discuss politics and policy freely, but the intent of the Royal Canadian Legion was to never be another......You're are doing a great disservice to it's remaining members and should be ashamed.
  19. Do you think those that disagree with your sentiment, might feel alienated by your propagation of the “truth” as you see it? If you’re incapable of seeing the division that people like you foster in an organization that should be apolitical, then the Legion will obviously continue to falter……..Bravo Zulu on your part of managing the decline of the Royal Canadian Legion.
  20. I fully understand why the value of the Legion has degraded, and for the most part, it’s nobody’s fault really……Very simply, it was born out of the First World War, and further expanded after the Second World War to meet the needs of a large amount of Vets………Clearly today nature has been taking its toll on membership……. Where I do find fault, is opening the doors to the public……….For obvious reasons, most Vets wouldn’t enjoy a public environment where people of similar sentiment as Eyeball or Dre are welcome….They are certainly entitled to their views, after all Freedom of speech/expression was what many fought for, but it certainly doesn’t foster a pleasant environment. I would also add, volunteers such as yourself, are clearly needed and appreciated, but politicising the conflicts in which members have/had served in such environments is also off-putting and offensive to many Veterans…….In essence, when a goodly number of members supported the War in Afghanistan , your labeling it as a fiasco, can and does alienate Vets……. .I would suggest, going forward, check your politics at the door if you want to be part of the solution and not part of the problem.
  21. Exactly......Now, we just have a better understanding of the various conditions, and more effective ways to treat it. I still feel the degradation of the Legion and the reduction in use of the chaplaincy, both tools that paid a big part in many vets lives, could factor into this equation.
  22. That's what I was leaning towards...........I don't follow Ontario politics that much, but from what I understand, Tory is more of a Red-Tory....From the little I've heard about the Chow effort (namely her proposed handgun ban), it sounds underwhelming.
  23. I'm surprised Ford is still in the running.......is there a potential for a vote split between Tory & Ford, that could see Chow come up the middle? Or are Ford and Tory that different?
  24. An interesting point, there’s no doubt that those in the Police/Fire/Ambulance/ER services see both egregious and heinous things on a daily basis, more so then most would ever see once in a lifetime. As I spoke to in a previous thread, support mechanisms should be in place, but I also feel increased pre-employment mental health screening would go far in addressing a great many cases.
