Oh that the public sphere would learn the limits of bluster and televistic appeal ! Imagine high office going to people with relevant skills, and experience ? What a world !4 points

Who has more skills to deal with a global financial crisis ? One who was Bank Governor under Harper and the UK or a textbook demagogue who puts training wheels on MAGA and tries to ride it across Canada ?3 points

Right the Liberals want to give everyone free goodies but don't want the political hit of raising taxes to pay for it. So they'll make future generations pay for it, with interest, just so theycam keep getting elected. Very fiscally responsible of them. Meanwhile nobody can afford a house and our healthcare system sucks.2 points

LOL... Unfortunately popes and Romanism do not teach the truth from the King James Bible which is God's pure word. What do you think the Reformation was all about? The very existence of Popes and the Papacy is not supported by the Bible. Neither is the mass, confession to a priest, absolution, purgatory, salvation by works, and Mary worship. You better do some studying.2 points

It doesn't matter Robo. @User and @Nationalist both pointed out nobody was denied life, liberty or property. They had no legal right to be in country. And nothing at all prevents them from trying to enter using legal means moving forward. But they'll have to apply from their home countries. There's no violation there The same way that you determine without due process whether or not someone is licensed to drive a car. Or whether someone owns a piece of property. There is documentation and if the documentation indicates that the person is not from this country and has not applied for the legal permissions or rights to stay in the country then that is sufficient. They are absolutely free once they leave the country to apply to the court system if they feel something has been done unjustly and they will absolutely be given due process. But if they cannot demonstrate a right to stay in the country then they absolutely can be removed without having a court involved. If an error has occurred that has harmed them then they will have recourse through the courts. It's pretty simple2 points

I have never met Mark Carney in person. I knew people that knew him and they all said that he was an ambitious guy. Ambitious guy? OK..... Not the first politician who is ambitious. ====== Now that I see him on Youtube, he has no charisma. Boring AF, as the kids say.1 point

A banker with charisma.... aaaaiiiiyyyeeeeee We have this great TFSA to sell you but you must act now..... Needless to point out, he still had more charisma than Milhouse Poilievre as the election results showed.1 point

Last year I worked on a really, really huge building being built by a bio-agriculture company. They are growing insect protein (mealworms I think) initially as animal feed but eventually to be incorporated into human's food. Sound like a good idea - Large amounts of protein grown quickly and efficiently without clearing more forests, or adding large amounts of waste products.. This is simply a type of farming. I'd rather have a bug than a cow's rectum in my hot-dog. And if private industry is willing to invest hundreds of millions in it, there must be something to it.1 point

"The U.S. law implementing CUSMA requires the United States Trade Representative (USTR) to initiate public consultations 270 days before the July 1, 2026, start date for talks. That would be this coming October." I hope your personal sources in cabinet will keep us apprised of what is or isn't happening behind the scenes.1 point

Commentators said that while this is usually a disadvantage, in this particular election that may very well have worked in his favor. With the threat and scare of trump and the 51st state they say voters were looking for someone who was stable and boring and calm rather than someone with a lot of energy He has no relevant skills. His first meeting with trump demonstrated that he's in just a little over his head. He's never run a country he's never even served in a public government office. He did what he was told under harper as governor of the Bank of Canada and according to literally everyone who's commented on it so far he did a crappy job in the UK. And frankly your beloved liberals just ran 10 years on hair and socks. So let's not pretend that competency is what they were after1 point

Embarrassed yourself by reposting the same topic a few days after embarrassing yourself posting in it in your first attempt. Conservatives swept the 905, he says, with ~20 Liberal MPs from the 905 in Parliament. 🤣👏1 point

Yet I'm called a racist in this thread on this topic. You're wrong. Nothing has changed. Question immigration numbers or quality and you get called a racist. Even during this last election, conservatives were called racist and anti-immigration because they campaigned on changing it.1 point

This is more like Trump's "concept of a plan" for health care. But Trump definitely has a plan. It goes like this: Create a crisis. Take one step toward resolving the crisis. Pat yourself on the back for days for thinking about cleaning up your own mess. Bask in the embarrassing adulation of devoted sycophants1 point

You have no idea what the law is. You have no idea what you are talking about in general. You're just a foreigner who is weirdly obsessed with the US and weirdly devoted to the big orange buffoon in the White House. There are laws. There is a process. They are not being followed. This abominable president, who quite recently swore an oath to uphold the constitution, now says he doesn't know if he has to uphold the constitution.1 point

When Trudeau started his war on domestic energy, not only did he make energy consumption more expensive for Canadians, he also made it more expensive for businesses, and their higher cost to do business was passed along to consumers as well, raising the cost of everything. Then Canadians end up with less disposable income, there's less money going around (aside from what's spent paying off loans, and Canadian companies are even less competitive. If you wanted to draw up a plan for "How to screw an economy" on the board, raising energy prices only falls behind water/food shortages on the to-do list.1 point

Just curious, why did you change the topic from CBC getting caught lying for Carney? Do you think it's false, that it didn't help hum, that his bribe had nothing to do with their help, or do you just not want to talk about it? It depends on what you're talking about. Leftists are dividers racially, by vax-status and along party lines. I'm not a "divider" in that regard, although I do tell inconvenient truths about leftists. As far as Canada is concerned, I am 100% in favor of splitting the country.1 point

Most Brits look like they've never ever seen sunshine . . . . kind of a sickly looking bunch. Palid skin, bad teeth, poor posture, and the slight musculature of an anemic boy. Combined with this is an insatiable hunger for warm beer and fish 'n chips . . . . Aaaahhhh! . . . but, they have a king! 😏1 point
-
I didn't say anything of the kind. So we're at the point where you're just lying i see. That always means one thing: You know you're wrong and you'd rather lie than admit it. Well it looks like we're on the same page. This was a mistake by carney. He isn't the grand negotiator people had hoped. Which is too bad. Hopefully he'll learn and get better. Because at the moment trump is outplaying him He showed the world Carney is on his leash, Carney comes like a dog to his master and then sits there like a good little boy while the adults talk. For trump that's enough. For carney that's terrible.1 point

The provinces gave the federal that power. It was as obvious in 1867. Ottawa can play in the provinces' compentencies without their permission. Ottawa is doing it all the time by the way. That is why the provinces wanted modifications in 1981 until they gave up everything on november 5th. So no, it's not equal. However, maybe you misunderstand me. That sovereignty is not absolute. Ottawa can change the constitution only if it gets 7 provinces and 50% of the population. Almost 100% of the countries that got their independence were from countries that had no exit clause. Most of the F.N.'s treaties are signed with the Crown and several of them are priori the creation of Canada. Alberta has a major problem because they have no treaties with the natives (unless I am missing something), so if it seperates, it has a serious problem. However, Québec did anticipated the issue and there treaties signed between Québec and first nations on its territory.1 point

No kidding. Hamas was elected and their popularity would grow in the past after they launched attacks on Israel and they continued to enjoy a high plurality of support over the years. We are past thinking the Palestinians are OK if we just leave them be to live their lives in peace. Hamas has brainwashed an entire generation of children to hate and despise Israel now.1 point

I don't think they really believe Alberta will go and I don't think they understand how important it would be if they did. They've always been able to put their thumb on Alberta and get what they want. Why would it be different now they would ask1 point

As @WestCanMan said he's never been divisive. He can be abrasive attacking his enemies but if anything he's extremely inclusive and if you've seen one of his ralleys it's all about bringing people together, letting them partake in the promise of canada, and building a future. Divisive people don't attract as many people as he did, and from as many different groups as he did. The CBC et al like to portray him as another trump and claim he's divisive but that's just simply not the case.1 point

Sure, but while Carney is gone the CBC is covering up his lies (established fact 😉) and pumping his tires every day. Poilievre didn't just gift the CBC $1B taxpayer dollars a year, he doesn't get any CBC propaganda. Just slander. That's not true at all. You just got caught spreading CBC propaganda, dude. FYI divisive is like Trudeau separating people by pseudovax status, calling the unvaxed "racists and misogynists", and asking Canadians if the unvaxed should even be tolerated. Poilievre has never said anything even remotely close to that. Step away from the crackpipe and order some Big Pharma Bug Fizz. It cures covid.1 point

Our immigration in general needs to be reworked. We need to get back to a more rigid point system and we need to limit dependents as much as reasonably possible. Canada benefits from immigration done right, with modest levels that are appropriate to our infrastructure growth and focusing on people likely to be strong that contributors in short order. We do not benefit from excessive amounts of integration and excessive dependents1 point

This is what happens when you support terrorism....you give up those rights....I guess Israelis are not allow to have those either....they live in fear when the next attack is coming, they wonder if their safe rooms built into their homes will hold them back....or will they be killed in some other terrorist attack....Only Palestinians can stoop all of this be denouncing Hamas and other terrorist groups...1 point

Why did Macron go? Why did Starmer go? Why did Carney visit Starmer and Macron? If you knew 1/10th of what you think you know about politics, you'd know that these are the symbolic meetings of heads of state, diplomatic niceties that start or signify the work that will be done by civil servants and trade ministers, etc... And No! - going to Mor0n-Lago is not the same as an invite to the White House. M0ron-Lago is for sycophants, lobbyists and hucksters. Trudeau shouldn't have gone there.1 point

Sorry we have to disagree about this one. This is not a black and white issue. Even if one thinks the general policy of removing alleged illegal migrants is in order, a President and country must respect due process, and respect lawyers that defend the accused. You can't just crush the rights of lawyers who defend these people and just ignore the due processes and procedures that respect human rights. We need to think deeper.1 point

Is that why the much poorer farmers in the Maritimes send hay to Alberta during droughts? Globe and Mail "Aug 18, 2021 — Maritime farmers ship hay to ranchers out west as months of extreme heat and little rain has left crops withering in fields across the west..." What did Alberta do for Nova Scotia after Hurricane Juan which was followed shortly by White Juan? Nothing. https://www.cbc.ca › news ›Feb 8, 2014 — "White Juan damage funding comes 10 years later - On Friday, Nova Scotia MP and Justice Minister Peter MacKay announced the province will receive $3.6 million under the Disaster Financial." Of course that was a Conservative gov't so you couldn't expect too much... You're either a liar or you know nothing, or possibly both.1 point
