You've never asked me what was in the trails. You asked me what people were spraying and I answered you: no one is spraying anything. Others have explained what's in the trails you see (water vapour and trace byproducts from fuel combustion) and you don't seem to be able to grasp a concept my four year old understands. Again, the fact you "ask questions" and ignore or dismiss the answers if you don't like tells me you aren't interested in learning the answers but having people validate your insane worldview.2 points

Good point, I used to think it was because aircraft sometimes travel in different directions. OK, ya got me: On shorter flights we open one of the windows and have a flight attendant drain the excess coffee overboard with a garden hose. It accounts for some of those darker coloured trails. On longer flights we use the same procedure to empty the lavs. That's why the toilets contain blue water, it's mostly invisible when viewed against a blue sky. On cloudy days though we sometimes get caught with our pants down (so to speak). In that case additional company aircraft are recruited to lay coffee and beer trails in that distinctive criss cross pattern you identified. Sorry to have been so deceitful in the first post. I share your concern and think it's important to forward this new information to the appropriate authorities. Please contact the Ministry of Transport's Enforcement Section without delay. If you don't get an immediate response it's likely because they're in on the conspiracy. Lock your doors and shelter in place. I would then contact the CBC directly and give them the story, they're sure to appreciate having some credible news to report. In the interest of protecting sources and whistle blowers though, please don't mention my name. Cheers2 points

If you buy his Bible, at least you get a book. If you buy his stock, you’ll get nothing. Analysts forecast a stock price of $2 per share. There’s no roadmap to profitability for Truth Social. It’s a social network based on the tweets of a single celebrity. The company has been bleeding cash, losing $58 million last year. and, much worse, had only $4 million in revenue. Oh, and $40 million of that lost money was spent paying interest on loans. That should frighten anyone with any sense… how much debt do they have to pay $40 million a year in interest? If that’s not enough to alarm you, consider this: In 2022, they reported profit of $50 million, on revenue of $1.5 million. Read that again: Profit of $50 million on revenue of $1.5 million. If that’s not enough to convince you that you’re being conned, nothing is. Trump’s holding about 70% of the stock. As soon as he sells his shares, the dilution is better than 2:1. So just buy his Bible. You’ll have something to show for your money.2 points

The “expert” tact simply doesn’t hold as much water as it used to because people have the ability to access much of the same information as the experts. Yes it’s important to respect someone’s credentials and the rules of apprenticeship within the field. There’s also the very basic and longstanding convention of academic freedom and freedom of expression. Peterson is speaking about these general concepts because they have been attacked at the legislative and policy levels by governments, professional associations, and universities. He’s qualified to address such abrogations and can comment on the psychological damage and political consequences with knowledge and authority. Others from other fields can weigh in and I hope they do. Atwood and Rowling have spoken out too thankfully. Peterson just happens to have command within influential online media. I don’t hold him up as a saviour because his flaws are obvious and he’s just one person speaking about his experiences. It’s nevertheless very important because few people have the resources and platforms that he does. Most people just go along to get along, and a part of them dies each day.2 points

We can't complain that things are terrible for working people, and also complain about things being done to help their basic needs such as pharma or dental care. The government is charged with helping the overall welfare of its citizens. Despite all of the claims that we are going to the "left", the wealthy have benefited from neoliberalism and working people haven't seen real gains. If you don't want them to vote in socialists, you had better throw them a bone or two.2 points

All of this is concerning, but half the posters on here spend their time defending or denying that any of this is happening or worth worrying about. Some simply have a visceral hatred or jealousy of Peterson, so they disagree with anything he says because he says it. Most people are simply too busy, too scared of repercussions, too confused, too brainwashed, or too complaisant to do anything about the creeping controls over speech and behaviour. The pandemic, planned or unplanned (and we’ll probably never know the truth), provided authorities with an opportunity to test the limits of surveillance, removal of rights, and enforcement through fines, job loss, freezing of bank accounts, and general deplatforming. Imagine adding more technology for control and surveillance in similar or even bigger crises. Unfortunately we’ve seen that policy can be set and handed down from non-state unelected bodies radically and efficiently. Some politicians are complete dupes or even embrace this governance. It explains why now there are only two goals: inclusivity and fighting climate change. These ideas and the policies supporting them are overriding all other considerations, much as “keeping us safe” during the pandemic obliterated basic constitutional rights. What’s strange is that even though most people you talk to have other priorities, the right think of these imposed values is always the narrative in the background of our lives: in government, media, training at work, even at most churches. We know that something is amiss, but we can’t quite remember or understand what.2 points

That cash and those services were paid for by Canadians. Meaning, some are getting bent over, while others are getting. You're making it sound like it was a gift. I work my a** off, and get peanuts from the tax rebates, but it costs me heavily personally as well as to do business. I am essentially paying into making life more comfortable for the average Canadian family. All while being bent over. Canadians who like hand outs, love Trudeau. Those who work hard for a living and are being bent over, are sick of it. I work to put food on my table. Not only is it a cost that has dramatically increased, but there are now Canadians who feel entitled for a bigger cut of what I have to offer as a middle class Canadian. More laws, would actually mean less theft, and those less increases in costs to make up for loss being passed onto Canadians. More cops would enforce this. Hand outs don't work, because that money must come from someone's bent over back pockets, who likely work far harder for it than those for whom it is going into in highest amounts.2 points

lol more than 60% of Harvard grads end up in conservative-leaning fields like finance, consulting, tech, engineering and law. More than half make six figures right out of the gate. Hardly the marks of a institution producing cadres of hardcore social justice warriors. Social sciences and the humanities represents less than 30% of Harvard grads and that's if you stretch it to include Health and Academia. Those "certain fields" where students of elite educational institutions are being exposed to left wing concepts represent a minority of programs and produce comparatively few grads, but you wouldn't know it from the amount of time right wingers spend crying about them.1 point

You can't help in one hand, then increase their cost of existing in the other, twofold. If am poor, and having to pay 1, 700$ in rent for a basic single room apartment, this isn't helping. Trudeau's policies are killing families, financially. You dramatically reduce their cost of living, and provide them with the means to have financial breathing room to take care of such things. More Canadians than ever, are borrowing money at rates they struggle to pay back. Just further digging themselves into a hole, living paycheque to paycheque. They need Trudeau's help not because of the cost of living, but because the inept government has made life so expensive for them that they can't even consider affording necessities like dental and pharma which become luxuries when that deep in debt. I make enough money, that my wife could stop working, and I could provide for both, car and all. Even with this, we would have to budget due to the stratospheric increases on just about everything. Heck, we want to fly back to the Philippines, and what was a 1, 200$ round trip right before covid, is now on average 2, 600$. Literally double the cost, per passenger. Relief of this inflationary pressure, will do far more for Canadians, than hand outs. I don't need government aid. Just let me have my dollars mean more on our market, and am good. Wife is the same. We are highly independent. Relying on a government sets a precedent of control they now have over my life that am not good with. You're destroying that welfare by making life so painfully expensive, that even if you want to drink the pain away, are taxed two extra percent to do so. So, 52% overall. At least weed is legal and safe injection sites incetivize your becoming a crackhead, so there is at least that. All else fails, you can steal cars, as you will walk free within days. This isn't about welfare. Its population control.1 point

Highly debatable False. First the fisheries collapsed due to generations of irresponsible fishing. Unless the “bad policy” you’re referring to was Libs and Conservatives alike allowing the irresponsible fishing and not stepping in with tougher regulations earlier. That’s a dishonest way of portraying the fact they were offered badly needed services that the conservatives supposedly would have cancelled. And don’t forget conservatives subsidies for the seal hunt for example, hilariously including the recent suggestion by a conservative senator that Taylor Swift be recruited to convince the world to eat seal meat in order to manufacture demand for a product nobody wants. More conservative reverse logic nonsense: when government appears to be hurting you it’s actually helping you, when government appears to be helping you it’s actually hurting you. Conservatives love persecuting vulnerable people with ultra-agressive policing, mass incarceration, school-to-prison pipelines, contaminated drinking water, lax employment and safety standards, lax consumer protection, lax pollution laws etc etx well that may seem bad but actually that’s helping you by “building character” and “providing you incentives” to improve yourself all on your own! You just don’t realize it! Meanwhile living in a first world country with policies that have lifted thousands of families out of poverty and allowed stay at home parents to join the workforce and/or improve skills and earn higher income, well that’s all just an elaborate trick to make you a “slave”. According to conservative logical, if government does things you approve of,, then you’re more likely to vote for them therefore doing things you like is evil! 🙄 He most obvious way of disproving this fallacy is to take a look at the most catered spoiled and indulged class of society: the ultra-rich. The multimillionaires a billionaires whose wealth has only exploded after 40 years of pandering by right wing economic policies enacted by both sides of the aisle. Would anyone claim they have been “enslaved”? If anything it is they who have enslaved government and the public.1 point

That is the correct question to ask, so I will repeat the very simple answer that those with extremist agenda on both sides continually ignore: Because by far the largest sink of carbon on this planet is the ocean - not rain forests, not Arctic swamps, etc. The frigging HUGE thing out there we call not only the saline oceans but also he freshwater inland seas. What we have managed to do from throwing all of our garbage into waterways is poison about a quarter of all of the phytoplankton in global waters. One single class (diatoms) are responsible for the release of 40%+ of all oxygen on this planet. As we kill plankton off we remove the absorption of carbon resulting in not only more carbon in the atmosphere but lower pH in waterways and water bodies. For the few who would like to learn and understand instead of mindlessly spewing a bunch of political agendae buzzwords and phrases, I will, as usual, provide a link to a genuinely authoratative science-based source: https://goesfoundation.com/ One of my responsibilities in business is to be the bad guy in assessing the technical validity of claims or concepts, and without writing a dozen pages about it: the whole direction of most of what we see from governments and "scientists" about our environment fails even THE most basic litmus tests. The whole mess conveniently ignores the fundamental facts that our list of problems (and indeed there are many) are topped by 2 things that nobody seems to have the brains or balls to understand and deal with: Poisoning of our oceans and unsustainable population.1 point

Something to ponder and remember about all governments, not just liberal but conservative and especially NDP “The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.” — Adrian Rogers" And: "You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity. What one person receives without working for another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for that my dear friend is the beginning of the end of any nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.” ― Adrian Rogers"1 point

I feel the same. And yet, as anyone who has watched this unfold knows, the people most determined to push this stuff on us are... women. It is the women, the feminists, and especially lesbians, who are pushing this stuff, even though it harms them in the end, as per this article. Btw, Michael Hardner, here is that definition of 'woke' you were looking for. “Wokeness” has been described as everything from a political epithet for a bogeyman of the extreme left to a catch-all for any cause whatsoever that concerns itself with the well-being of an identifiable group. A more reasonable definition, borrowed from political scientist Yascha Mounk, is that wokeness is a version of social justice based on what he terms “the identity synthesis.” It views human beings not as individuals, but as a collection of group identities that are either oppressed, or oppressive. And to be oppressed is to be virtuous; to be a victim is to hold precious social cachet. The more oppressed one is, the better a person they are. Amy Hamm: Wokeness hurts women. Why do so many support it? (msn.com)1 point

The issue is that you can’t have a heavily socialized economy and a low-cost, entrepreneurial, open economy at the same time. Canada is at the extreme end of socialism and creeping towards communism. Too many expensive and ineffectual government programs and policies. When mainstream media have become cheerleaders of government and free speech is being cut back, you can see the results: big, overbearing bureaucracy, less business opportunity, lower incomes that are more heavily taxed, more treatment of ideology as fact, and so on. It’s the slow moving, ham-fisted yet very intrusive and overbearing government problem we see in the most left-leaning European countries. It’s the central planning cookie cutter Soviet system in waiting. Self-determination and wealth are frowned upon and the successful are mocked and shaken down for taxes to maintain the bloated nanny state. Free speech is for “alt right” capitalists, colonialists, and imperialists. The rhetoric is very Marxist. Do you honestly think that such a system is better for working people? It’s not, certainly not in the long run. Money and talent will flee the country and people will get poorer. Our incomes have declined relative to the US over the past decade.1 point

So I would counter that perspective by saying that Peterson is taken very seriously by people who make important decisions impacting people’s lives far more than many intellectuals because of his prowess and ability to explain complex ideas in layman’s terms, but also because he’s able to discern what’s pertinent and applicable, whereas many intellectuals can’t translate ideas to other disciplines or see what’s relevant about what they know to the lives of most people. It’s the ivory tower problem. Testifying before Congress and interviewing highly influential public figures doesn’t make him a hack. I would be careful with this “We know better” mentality and the idea that very few people are qualified to raise questions about government policy, because it’s the elitist perspective that ordinary citizens don’t know what’s good for them. It’s an anti-democratic perspective, actually. Expertise and credentialism are important when speaking about specific issues within a specialized field, but when the issues are across fields and extend beyond academia, they are fair game for the public to weigh in. You can’t avoid it, actually, because they will have input politically in a democracy, thankfully.1 point

You don’t seem to see the inflationary impact on housing and how services are stretched due to policies that have essentially ignored the cost of living challenges to people of higher taxation, regulation, and unprecedented mass immigration. Life has become much more expensive, and trying to spend money we don’t have to fix it has accelerated the crisis. Look at wage growth and the amount of people’s salaries in Canada dedicated to housing, transportation, and heating alone. Much of this crisis relates to policy choices over time. It has gotten much harder for people in the last several years, and only so much can be blamed on the pandemic, which also could’ve been handled differently.1 point

Nah, I've explained efficacy to you many, many times. You can't seem to catch on. And it's not a difficult concept. I can't fix stupid. -
Since the public decided it’s in their best interest for the government to do so, e.g. when those services are no longer affordable or accessible in the private market. That doesn’t make Canada Cuba, all governments even right wing ones provide services to their citizens, it’s why they exist. Lack of essential services like housing and childcare hurts future generations more. Nobody believes we shouldn’t have public healthcare, and it’s shortcomings are often tied to a lack of funding.1 point

No you’re wrong. It’s not “bad behaviour”. Somebody on his staff only sent one tweet this weekend instead of 2 this ONE TIME. Its not a big deal and I doubt it was a deliberate slight. The right does it on PURPOSE to put groups in their place…..Your alleged “bad behaviour” is that he only tweeted ONE goodwill message during in the same holiday weekend. Gimme a break ! He didn’t exclude. There was an easter message. Ramadan lasts 30 days they only got one message too, not one for each day. Nice try. That’s not what I said at all I did not say it was “ok to exclude Christians” I was just disagreeing with your prediction that Canadian voters would cause some major political backlash if they didn’t get their 2 Easter tweets Maybe you should actually read the posts I write because I said nothing of the sort. Also: the right is the party of “Islam is not a race therefore Islamophobia isn’t racist and is perfectly okay”. But now you’re complaining that only 1 Easter well-wish message is “racist” against Christians? Oh the hypocrisy.1 point

It’s simply a tax on existence, because we need the products and services that have carbon taxes, such as heating, transportation, and the products impacted by the multiplier effects of these taxes through the supply chain. The carbon tax is about making life more expensive so that we live less: go fewer places, buy less, eat less, stay warm less, have less, and die more. Carbon taxes hurt people because the war on carbon footprints is a war on humanity.1 point
-
Snicker - that's perfect The thing about the carbon tax federally is that it's a bit of a pyramid scheme. They way they've got it set up, as long as there's a bit of inflation and as long as energy costs are rising and population is growing the amount they give back this year will always be lower than what they bring in. Until the situation changes it gives them both extra tax money as well as a way to hook people by convincing them that they'd starve without the liberal's handouts. Clever trick, if you're a snake oil kind of politician.1 point

It costs about 20 percent of the amount collected to collect and then rebate money. So... to really hammer home how dumb your comment was, you're happy to see them collect a couple billion dollars - spend 200 million that could have been used by families to pay their bills so that familes can have 800 million to pay their bills. Instead of just leaving them will the billions. What kind of glue did your mommy huff while pregnant so that you'd be so brain damaged you'd think that was a good idea. If we need cops and subs and whatever (oddly specific) then fine - we collect the money we need to and pay it. If we DON"T need that crap then DON"T COLLECT THE MONEY. But collecting it - burning 20 percent of it, and then giving the REMAINDER back is dumb! I note the conservatives are going up in the polls right now.1 point

There's a polio "vaccine", dipsnit. If you take the polio "vaccine" you actually don't have to worry about polio, at all. There's no similar "vaccine" for covid. "4x-vaxed" people, or "double-vaxed with two boosters" if you prefer, died of covid by the thousands in Canada in 2022. Have "thousands of people died of polio in Canada" in the last thirty years? Have three people died of polio in Canada in the last 30 years? The difference is night and day. Boat Salesman: "Here's a polio boat. You can drive across the lake in it, WCM." WCM: "I'm not surprised by that. Boats have been crossing lakes for thousands of years. Thanks. I'll pay you half now, and half when I get back." Salesman: "OK." Rubber boot salesman: "Here are some covid rubber boots, Hodad. You can go across the lake with these." Hodad: "Thanks. You're the best. I'll pay you half now, and half when I get back." Saleman: "Nah. I'm gonna need the full payment right now." Hodad: "OK." Ten minutes later... Hodad: "I shoulda *glub* bought the boat. *glub* It was cheaper. *glub glub* 😵"1 point

Can you define that? You know the jabs aren't even 1% of what we were promised, right? Can you at least acknowledge that we were not initially told that "The vaccines will kill an acceptable number of young healthy people who don't need it, vaxed people can still give covid to granny, and covid deaths won't go down by a noticeable amount"? Honestly, when you say "anti-vax" without qualifying that, you're just solidifying your status as a brainless dipshit.1 point

The BC Gov't is doing it too right now. I got an email today: On February 22, the Government of B.C. announced [PDF] a new B.C. Electricity Affordability Credit that will provide the average BC Hydro residential customer with an annual savings of around $100. To be eligible for this credit, you must have an active account as of March 31, 2024. The credit will be automatically calculated and divided over your BC Hydro bills over the next 12 months. The exact credit amount you’ll receive will be based on your home's electricity consumption between April 1, 2023, and March 31, 2024. For the average household, this will provide savings of around $100. Customers with the lowest consumption last year will receive no less than $24. $100 a year. $8.50/mo. (on avg) 🥳1 point

No that is clearly the right: Muslims, trannies, immigrants, liberals, Palestinians the list of the right’s Hated Ones is long, and the right’s track record of stating certain groups are “below the law” (ie undeserving of basic rights and fairness) is even longer. Most Canadians consider themselves “Christian” in the sense that they celebrate xmas, Easter etc, are descended from Christians and participate in a Christian-based SOCIAL culture…but a very small minority of these people are truly deeply religious. Most have never gone to chiropractic as adult except for weddings and funerals, most have never read the bible and have no plans to, most find overtly religious people boring and off-putting, most believe Christianity is or “probably” is man-made. Most so-called Christians in this country are really agnostic of atheist-curious. Canadians are strongly secular and the religious right is not a political force in Canada except maybe Alberta. There is no risk of a religious right takeover in Canada That said I can agree that the Prime Minister probably should be consistent year over year with their goodwill messages What do you mean there was no message from “the government”?1 point

More manufactured outrage. There was an easter message from him on Sunday, which I believe is the holiest day. But on a weekend with 3 holy days he didn’t separately tweet on each one of them. Oh the horror. A quick google shows that he has sent a Good Friday message in the past, at least in some years. I thought conservatives were opposed to politically correct pandering but their panties are in a twist because there wasn’t enough of it for their particular favourite group this time. For most people easter is just about the bunny and candy and ling weekend anyway, so a lit of the so-called outrage is just being offended on behalf of someone else, for political purposes.1 point

Guess who won? It was totally "unanticipated." Who'd a thunk... I'm betting that these "unanticipated" victories will continue until women walk off the field and refuse to compete. Since organizers and governing bodies are AWOL, women will have to assume the burden themselves. Shut em down and make em care, keep doing it until they do. Be polite, remain dignified, quietly walk off the field and simply refuse to compete with men. Don't be embarrassed either, the people pushing this agenda and ruining your sport certainly aren't.1 point

Yes, the CBC is another one of those "no more compromise" issues for me and they worked tirelessly to achieve it. Completely unnecessary, easily avoided, and totally self inflicted. It's as if some of these organizations can now read the tea leaves and are trying to get their last digs in before they hit the wall. Apparently, Veterans Affairs just tweeted "Happy March Holiday Season" to serving members and veterans. Almost like it was designed to rub smelly cheese in their faces. Assuming it's not a hoax, it's neither cute, funny or, inclusive IMO. It leaves me wondering whether the intent was to annoy or if it's possible that they're so out of touch with the people they represent that they really think "Happy Easter" causes offence to non-christian members of the CAF or RCMP. News flash.... it doesn't. But what does annoy them is being continuously subjected to woke nonsense and being used as pawns in support of it. Imagine how many members mumbled FU under their breath as they cleared that tweet. The exact same sentiment I had when I saw it and I'm pretty sure those on deployment are saying the same thing out loud while simultaneously extending both middle fingers. My second thought was to feel badly for the two young ladies in the stock photo who (likely) had nothing to do with (and no advanced knowledge of) the intended message. History isn't going to be kind. I think woke nonsense will age just as badly (and just as quickly) as the hateful ridicule and ill-informed rhetoric of the rabid pro-vax crowd. As it turns out, my next task is to hide "March Holiday Eggs" (from the "March Holiday Bunny") for my grandkids.1 point
