  1. DeSantis, Carlson Burned, annihilated to dust cities; bombed hospitals, schools and maternity wards. Hundreds, probably thousands of documented war crimes... only a "territorial dispute". A decision to participate in other people's war is an important one; it should not be taken lightly; objectivity and honesty; remembering the lessons of the past and the principles is an important part of it too. "Territorial dispute", really? This is what you call a brutal invasion by a power-hungry dictator; not a bit better than that of Hitler in the past war? "Territorial dispute between Germany and Poland, 1940?"? "Should not have provoked Hitler?" Liar. For whatever reasons, if one begins ones path with a lie of this proportion, what else is there to see? Where would it develop? How can you take it back, words burned into the history? It's sad and pathetic that for whatever reasons this individual has chosen to lie to achieve whatever purposes, appeal to whoever. He does not have to like Ukraine or support it. He can have a different opinion. But he chose to lie. In the world of tomorrow, if Putin is allowed to prevail, run by emboldened and encouraged Putins, Uns and any imaginable crazy dictator stuff with nukes you gonna focus on your more important priorities? Brainless. Stupid. The take is clear: he did not find other, honest ways to make a convincing point. And, there's no reason to expect that having done it in this obvious, as clear as can be moral case he wouldn't do it again. Nothing else to see here. End of the story.

  2. Also - a word about 'grooming'. Of COURSE it's grooming. Pretty much all efforts to influence and train children for later life is grooming. Until a short time ago the word wasn't even a perjorative - people talked about 'Grooming the next generation of leaders" and such all the time, it was a normal term expressing a normal thing. Grooming in and of itself isn't evil - it would be evil NOT to prepare kids for later life and their role in it. And things like 'drag story time' are undoubtedly an effort to "groom" or shape kids thinking to be more positive to the lGBT community. But to be clear there is NOTHING WRONG as a general concept with 'grooming' our kids for the future with the lessons we think are important. Now - we can have a long talk about whether that IS something we need to be teaching kids early, or if some of this goes too far, or encourages confusion or non positive behavior, or how much children should be exposed to sexual issues and at what ages. But to dismiss everything you don't like as 'grooming' is not appropriate. And to deny that shaping the opinions and instructing youth ISN'T grooming is also not appropriate. It's all grooming. What we should be discussing is what is appropriate to introduce kids to and at what age.

  3. Admins should take note that this thread has turned into a fresh Ukraine War thread. The idea that a GOP front-runner supports Ukraine is lost on this thread, we're just debating the same things we have for the past year in other threads.

  4. It's good that some Republicans realize this war is a horrific attack on Freedom and Democracy. And the comparisons to Hitler annexing territory in 1939 is a perfect comparable. Anyone who see it otherwise is just an Pro-Putin Chamberlain. pEaCe In OuR tImE.

  5. So you agree that is is acceptable for Putin to invade another country and it should be allowable? Same as Chamberlain? “We have a peace treaty that accepts Hitler’s invasion of Czechoslovakia, in exchange for peace!!” How’d that work? If Russia conquers Ukraine, he won’t stop there. And once conquered, these nations will remain occupied for half a century or longer. The defiance of the Ukrainian people make it clear that they do not want to become part of Russia.

Most states do not allow children to buy tobacco, alcohol, firearms, etc before a legal age. But this UNELECTED PEDOPHILE JOSEF MENGELE has no problem with CHILDREN being scarred for life in these horrific procedures. 3. Unelected Joe is a monster.

  11. You have a third grade education. Dodd Frank helped cause the financial crisis Bush inherited. Deregulation led to the greatest economy in history, made possible by LEGALLY ELECTED PRESIDENT TRUMP. Biden's INFLATION is the reason why SVB's assets climbed to over 200 BILLION. (Those HUGE deficits were from Biden's STIMULUS checks he sent to everyone, mostly the rich.) That caused INFLATION. SVB invested that extra cash in long term bonds, which are very sensitive to interest rates. The FED had to raise rates to slow down the inflation BIDEN CAUSED. Those long term bonds became worthless. This is ALL BIDEN'S FAULT, not Trump. Trump left UNELECTED JOE an expanding economy. And look like UNELECTED JOE FUKKKED IT UP.

  14. Please note that Russia didn't start their aggression (first with the annexation of Crimea) when Ukraine applied to NATO. Russia started its aggression in 2014 when Putin Puppet, Viktor Yanukovych, was deposed by the people of Ukraine. Putin invaded because he no longer held political influence in Ukraine.

  15. Belarus seems already subservient to Russia. I doubt Putin will invade the Baltic countries which would probably lead to a nuclear exchange. Instead of your ill-informed speculation why not give peace a chance? If we imagine every world leader is Hitler the wars will never end. Remember when Saddam was Hitler?

  16. You are an ignorant twit who knows absolutely nothing whatsoever about any of this. After the USSR collapsed in 1989, a government was formed which was a confederation of independent states. This confederation then agreed by treaty to dissolve into independent nations. This is settled fact and international law. Not only Ukraine, but Belarus, and all the other former Soviet states are now independent nations. There is no dispute as to the borders or the legality. These nations have long had their own currency, UN seats, embassies, independent governments and so on. Russia simply invaded the independent country of Ukraine. To put it simply, because big sentences are obviously difficult for you: Russia does not dispute the borders of Ukraine, they dispute the EXISTENCE of an independent Ukraine nation. They want ALL of Ukraine to be part of Russia. That is not a dispute of “territory.” It is a dispute, or war, of the nation’s existence. The evidence is obvious: The Ukrainian people are fighting. With or without US weapons, they are fighting the Russians.

  19. Every month this year, we have highlighted just some of the many times law-abiding citizens used their firearms to defend themselves or others. (You can read past articles here: January, February, March, April, May, June, July, August, September, and October). Unsurprisingly, November was also replete with similar stories of Americans using guns to save lives and livelihoods. Nov. 2, Everett, Washington: A concealed-carry permit holder intervened to stop a mentally disturbed man who was endangering drivers by throwing chunks of concrete and metal pipes at cars passing by on the interstate. The man had damaged almost a dozen cars and was holding a large piece of metal when the permit holder drew his handgun and detained the man until police could arrive. One of the drivers whose car was damaged told reporters that she was thankful the permit holder saved her and other drivers from further harm. Nov. 5, Genesee County, New York: A 76-year-old man used his shotgun to fend off an armed home intruder, potentially saving both his life and the life of his wife. The man responded to a knock on his door during the night, only to have the intruder force his way inside at gunpoint and tell the couple to give him all their money or else he would kill them. The intruder then ordered the couple to go into the basement, where the man thought the intruder was going to kill them. Instead, the man was able to grab his loaded shotgun and shoot the intruder in the hip, then held him at gunpoint for 15 minutes until police could arrive. Nov. 7, Glen Burnie, Maryland: A man was feeding chickens in his yard when his bulldog began frantically barking, and he heard commotion from inside his home. He walked inside to find two acquaintances had broken in and, armed with a gun and a knife, were assaulting his girlfriend. The man grabbed an antique shotgun that he kept loaded “in case anything ever happens,” and fired at the attackers, injuring one and causing the other to run away. The man told reporters: “They could have shot and killed both of us, and then what? The guys could have got away scot-free. But no, I am an American. I’m going to have my gun, and I’m going to shoot [intruders] when they enter my house.” Nov. 10, Atascocita, Texas: A group of four masked would-be robbers charged into a jewelry store and began using hammers to smash into glass cases and grab expensive items. The storeowner saw the thieves from behind the one-way mirror in his office, grabbed his gun, and fired several rounds that wounded two thieves and sent all of them running. The four thieves were later arrested by law enforcement, and all of the stolen items were recovered. Nov. 14, Port Charlotte, Florida: A disabled New York City firefighter recovering from serious injuries relied on his handgun for protection against a masked woman who broke into his home and assaulted him. The firefighter, suffering from a herniated disc in his back and a broken pelvis, warned the woman he was armed, but she punched his jaw and throat, and attempted to gouge his eyes. As the struggle continued, he feared he would be overpowered and shot the woman once in the stomach, causing her to flee the scene. She was subsequently arrested. Nov. 17, Burlington, North Carolina: A homeowner used his shotgun to defend himself against an ax-wielding man who tried to break into his home through a back door. The homeowner did not need to fire his weapon, as the would-be intruder fled the moment he saw there would be an armed confrontation. Police later arrested the intruder and charged him with breaking and entering with the intent to commit a felony. Nov. 21, Benton Harbor, Michigan: Two armed intruders broke into an apartment and ordered the occupants—including three children—to “get down.” The apartment renter heard the commotion from a separate room, grabbed his rifle, and shot at the intruders, killing one and sending the other fleeing. No one else in the apartment was harmed during the home invasion. Nov. 25, Miami: When a man armed with an AK-47 attempted to rob a 60-year-old concealed-carry permit holder who was in his van, his son, and girlfriend, the permit holder drew his handgun and killed the would-be robber. The permit holder, who told reporters he is originally from Jamaica and a member of the National Rifle Association, said, “I am going to defend my life and those I love. My family is innocent, and just don’t put an AK-47 in my face. I will not allow that to happen.” Nov. 27, Tulsa, Oklahoma: A man high on the drug PCP began stabbing his friend with a knife after the friend declined to give the man a ride. The friend, in fear for his life, pulled out his firearm and shot the man, who ultimately died from his wounds. The friend suffered serious injuries, but survived. Tulsa police said they think the shooting was justified. Nov. 28, McCleary, Washington: A woman shot and killed her estranged husband after he broke into her house and attacked her and a friend with a knife. The woman already had a domestic violence protection order issued against the husband. In a statement to a local news station, she explained, “If it’s your life or theirs, you have to do what you have to do.” Nov. 30, Ellenwood, Georgia: A deliveryman was unloading an order of bread at a Hardee’s fast-food restaurant when he saw several employees run out of the store in a panic, screaming for help. They told him that an armed robber had entered the store and was demanding cash while threatening other employees with a gun. The deliveryman grabbed his firearm from his truck and ran into the store. A gunbattle ensued, and the robber, who was shot several times, fled the scene. The wounded robber was later arrested. The local sheriff’s department named the deliveryman an honorary deputy and inducted him into its Posse Hall of Fame. T

  20. Why should it matter? ONE life saved? Are you so fcking PRO CRIME that you want ALL the victims of scumbags killed? https://www.heritage.org/firearms/commentary/11-more-examples-how-firearms-save-gun-owners-lives-property At a time when some gun control advocates appear intent on painting lawful gun ownership as a danger to society, and the Second Amendment as little more than an outdated protection of a person’s right to hunt, it’s important to remember the regular role armed citizens play in defending inalienable rights. As the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention affirmed in a 2013 report, almost all major studies on defensive gun uses have concluded that Americans use firearms in self-defense between 500,000 and 3 million times every year. The vast majority of them will receive little or no media attention. Here's an original idea: If you don't like guns, don't buy one. And mind your of fcking business as far as others exerting their CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS.

  22. Influence from China has been growing for decades. We also know that if anybody complained about Chinese Communist influence or interference in our country they would have been dismissed as a wacko or a racist. Yet birth tourism for one thing is a common thing. Women from China and elsewhere fly in to have their babies born in B.C. so they will have Canadian citizenship. Then leave after the baby is born and gets its citizenship. Citizenship is handed out like McDonalds toys for kids. It is a useful tool for the future. Foreign money has purchased billions of dollars worth of real estate in Canada and nothing was ever done about it. Organizations were established in Canada as friendship organizations and nothing was every said to oppose that. Then you had the twinning of towns or cities, another ridiculous scheme. Tens of thousands of students are brought in from China to study in our universities. Lots of money was donated to the Trudeau Foundation from people with ties to foreign governments. What exactly was that money used for? Now we have a situation where Australia, the UK, and the US have formed a military alliance to protect their interests (AUKUS) and Canada is not part of it. I wonder why. Is it because they don't trust Canada or is it because Canada is heavily influenced by China, or is it because Canada doesn't want to join and prefers to be all things to all countries (a globalist of some kind) and a pacifist nation? Perhaps a combination of these reasons.

  23. He's locked up because the Dems and their hyper-partisan media flacks needed to gin their 'tards into a frenzy, so he was made America's #1 enemy. If he was just a BLM rioter who helped overrun a police precinct by force of arms and then killed a 16-yr-old black kid while serving as a "BLM police officer", during the summer of love, he'd be a hero. Dude, the FBI carefully plans all of their media statements. That's why they time their kidnapping lots, etc, to be unravelled right before an election. The footage of M Brown robbing that store was on Fox News the day of the riot. Whatever CNN told you about 'the availability of video' was just another one of their lies. Are you honestly doubting that CNN would lie to you after al these years? The Jan 6th crowd was just a bunch of people who had every reason to be angry. They were told that somehow a retarded guy who averaged less than 200 rally attendees and only did two events per week got 84M votes.... It's absurd. No one thought that they could overturn the results of an election by dressing up like buffalo hunters and howling. Only total retards believe that. Leftards (including you, obviously) all use the word 'seditious' incorrectly because they all learned it on Jan 6th, when their media was using it incorrectly. A bunch of seditious people would just be planning an attack or encouraging others to do it, not engaging in it. When workers are out pouring concrete or tying off rebar they aren't 'architecting', they're building. Constructing. Our language is changing now just by the sheer volume of leftards who use all kinds of words incorrectly: "Vaccines" used to drastically increase one's chances of avoiding infection. Now anything you inject into your arm is considered a vaccine if you just wish it to be. Good news is, heroin addicts can't get covid now. (Don't tell Hodad that was a joke, I'm trying to get him hooked on heroin so he has less time to lie here). "Anti-vaxer" used to refer to people who refused to get their children vaccines that were known to be extremely effective at preventing active (but rare) diseases that were very dangerous, now it means non-vaxtard. Menstruating used to refer to a woman having her period, but now anyone pretending to menstruate means menstruating as well. Being pregnant used to mean "carrying a fertilized embryo that's growing into a baby" but now it includes the delusional. Being a man used to mean that you were born with the right type of naughty bits to get a woman pregnant, now it means "anyone who pretends to be a man" (good news for you, I guess). And believe it or not, the stooges who want to force you to use their made-up words because they're just fascists who need to have their own way, also want people to stop saying things like "mother" because 'mothers' don't get to be called the word that they prefer. Makes sense? Of course not. It's your retarded group that's doing it. I'm not at a loss for words, I'm just trying to find a gentle way to help you understand how stupid your comments are, and letting you know that not everyone believes your lies. If you have some video that shows as strong a police presence outside the capitol on Jan 6th as we routinely saw at the Freedom Convoy in Ottawa, then why don't you show us? Dear God, are you trying to say that Trudeau is somehow smarter than Pelosi? Or that Canadians just have more personnel on hand to defend their capitol than the Yanks? I mean, I guess there was a nearly successful coup attempt involving a few hundred unarmed people there. Man, the US army sure has gotten a lot weaker since the war of 1812. If they just had a squad of redcoats on Jan 6th they most likely coulda sealed the deal.

  24. The 'depositors' you speak of were predominantly start-ups and venture capital firms. It's ironic that the very clientele the bank has faithfully served for the past 40 years were the cause of its failure. SVB lent money to start-ups when the venture capitalists wouldn't. When the venture capitalist funding began to dry up, the start-ups began using their deposits to keep their companies going. The belief that something was amiss with the bank (which there was) is what caused the run on deposits. When the bank was forced to sell its holdings of long term bonds at a loss to cover the withdrawals ... the game was over. Ordinarily a bank holding a ton of long term bonds with low interest rates in a time of rapidly rising interest rates isn't the end of the world. But it doesn't work if there's a run on deposits. I agree it has nothing to do with wokeness.

  29. False. Do you even know what his carbon footprint is? People like him spend tens of thousands per yer on offsets and green initiatives As has been said: The claim that Gore and his ilk are hypocrites is a classic conservative attack strategy of redirection (because it ignores the core issue of climate change) and of poisoning the well (because it attempts to discredit the message by discrediting the messenger). This is much easier, and perhaps more rhetorically effective, than debunking climate science itself. … But climate change advocates who don’t live a carbon-neutral lifestyle aren’t hypocrites because, for the most part, they’re not asking you to live a carbon-neutral lifestyle. They’re asking governments, utilities, energy companies, and large corporations to increase their use of renewable energy so that you can continue to live your life as you please, without contributing to global warming. Advocates like Gore certainly have suggested ways individuals can do their part. In 2007, he stated, “The only way to solve this [climate] crisis is for individuals to make changes in their own lives.” But just a year later, he said, “In addition to changing the light bulbs, it is far more important to change the laws and to change the treaty obligations that nations have.” Last month, he said the three best ways are to talk about climate change (which he does), look for environmentally responsible choices when making large purchases (which he does), and support climate-friendly political candidates (which he does). Individual action has never been the focus of his message. As David Roberts pointed out in Vox last year, the reason climate advocates don’t intensely advocate for personal behavioral changes is that they’re “insignificant to the big picture on climate.” That’s true even for huge energy users. DiCaprio’s emissions “are a fart in the wind when it comes to climate change,” Roberts wrote. “If he vanished tomorrow, and all his emissions with him, the effect on global temperature, even on US emissions, even on film-industry emissions, would be lost in the noise.” And it wouldn’t be hypocrisy, since DiCaprio isn’t asking you to stop flying. In other words what fossil fuel shills on the right don’t understand is that fighting climate change has little to do with individual consumer choices and more to do with the choices made by individual and big business on how energy is sourced and produced. False again. Unlike actual book banning laws republicans have actually passed in many states already, liberals/democrats haven’t banned any books anywhere and nobody has “banned” Dr Seuss. The religious talibaptist kooks are all republican and the nutball who attacked Pelosi was a mentally ill person who was victim to all kinds of batshit conspiracies of all sorts, including republican conspiracies about Pelosi. Remember when the vile Republican lie machine was trying to falsely claim he was pelosis male prostitute? False that they are rewriting history and false that there’s “massive evidence” that they’re wrong. Honouring someone as a hero with a statue is not history. History is about teaching facts, not worshipping mythologized heroes and covering up their misdeeds of anyone who managed to achieve hero status in the past. Lincoln may have freed the slaves but we waged a campaign of genocide on Indians and it was indigenous protesters who toppled his statue. Nope fake news. Your examples are all either exaggerated, cherry-picked, or mundane events portrayed as sinister plots. Huh? Jordan Peterson’s OPINIONS are OPINIONS, not reality. He insists on constantly and knowingly subjecting his workplace to his constant controversial opinions. And his employer is exercising their right to not have to endure that. Once again we see conservatives are fundamentally unable to distinguish between opinion and fact which is why they are such rabid mouth-foaming intolerant extremists. LMAO OK BUDDY! Sorry you’ve got it backwards. Tucker Carlson’s emails demanding that Fox’s News division to stop reporting news that right wing audience doesn’t want to hear is proof enough.

  31. It's to be expected that the Dems would embellish a bit, even lie by omission sometimes, because that's what all politicians do. The length and breadth of their lies about Jan 6th is appalling and disqualifying though. Not only did they lie, slander, and even criminalize people who did nothing wrong (called innocent, fellow Americans "terrorists" and "white supremacists", no less), they they had their KGB arrest them and put them in jail without trial for months, and the Dems withheld exculpatory evidence from those who got their show trials. What the Dems have done has far surpassed what could be written off as mere "lying" for the purpose of political manoeuvring anymore, it was blatantly criminal behaviour. It was the kind of criminal behaviour that you see from despots in failed states. We're at a tipping point in NA politics, we're on the brink of surrendering our democracy to tyrants, and our mainstream media is heavily invested in it. Their credibility is now based on the pandemic, the pseudovaxes, white supremacist terrorism rampant, the purity of Biden and Trudeau, and the evil of conservatives. They have crossed the rubicon - they are one-party media.

  32. That might be true if it weren't for the fact that covid still affected young people even if it didn't kill them. Thousands are going through long covid with life altering results. Further, runaway transmission tends to lead to mutation. And that can be very very very bad. Fortunately the mutations we got weren't SO bad, with transmissibility going up but serious health issues going down. It doesn't always work that way. I wont' judge a younger person for not getting vaxed if they don't want to and i'm utterly opposed to mandates. But it would be crazy to think that allowing something as dangerous as covid in it's original form to run unchecked is a "good" idea.

  36. @Hodad@othertards: Dang, I found proof that the capitol was actually quite heavily guarded. Look at the rows upon rows of anti-sedition ? tactical units, the concertina wire, pillboxes, machine gun nests, snipers, etc that the seditious [sic], ravaging horde laid waste to on their murderous path to the capitol. This is proof that there was a massive amount of hateful, warlike rhetoric coming from Trump, and the whole world was braced for shock. Video of Ashley Babbitt storming the capitol, and the brave last stand of the police: If you watch 'til the end of the video you can see what was left of the capitol. Now I know why they say that Jan 6th is only comparable to Pearl Harbour, 9/11, Nagasaki, and all of the Toronto Maple Leaf's playoff runs since 1967. My God, just imagine what a racist hellhole America would be right now if not for that brave cop, hey Hodad?
