  1. That’s what courts do. Abusive parents lose freedoms all the time. Do you really think schools give drugs so youth can transition without a parent’s knowledge? Why are you afraid to explore that topic you brought up? Do you realize now how crazy it sounds?

  2. Oh, jeebus, get over yourself. Lol. People who don't buy into your crackpot theories are not "FBI apologists" whatever TF that is. The problem is that you're a conspiracy junky and a liar. You're not content to report the facts. You want to make up a secret agenda to explain the facts when events can more readily be explained through far simpler means. Your naivety about the relationships and communication between government and business is a personal deficiency, not a conspiracy. If you want to claim that the FBI released a statement, provide the statement. If you want to claim that the to FBI lied, produce the lie. If you want to claim that something unprecedented or even unusual happened here back it up with evidence. ETA: I will give you credit though, you're way ahead of nationalist. You've at least proposed a mechanism for influence. It's just not particularly in evidence without a LOT of creative inference, speculation and fiction.

  3. Folks probably don't realize it, but Canada does have stand-your-ground laws, and you aren't required or expected to retreat if someone breaks into your home. The only burden is that you don't respond disproportionally, so say, if some kid was climbing through your window and you blow him away with buckshot before he's even inside, you might get in trouble. If you're facing 3-4 intruders in the middle of the night who are already in your house and you shoot one of them, it's less likely.

  4. That would be bad enough but unfortunately i think it's worse. I think they have now gotten to the point where they are completely rogue and will pursue whatever left wing agenda is in their heads. If they'd rather see the liberals in power - then they deliberately organize their publications in such a way as to support that. IF they don't like the convoy as many on the left didn't, then they deliberately lie and print false information in order to vilify it. If for some reason the decided they didn't like trudeau then they would be slanting the news to get rid of him. We've seen their recent completely unsubstantiated attack on danielle smith. They are a power unto themselves. They believe they are entitled to their money and nobody can stop them. They don't just report events - they want to control them. They want to be a political power within the country with no master. They have to go

  9. The Jan 6 committee was made up predominately of far left Democrat lunatics and a handful of never Trumpers. They did not allow any evidence to emerge that would've brought into question their narrative. It's good that we finally have all the evidence and can judge for ourselves outside and not just rely on far left news outlets to spin a story

  10. https://www.cbc.ca/news/health/covid-deaths-canada-winter-2022-1.6637476 Suddenly covid was a youth-killer back in 2020? Not even close. Covid was always killing the elderly with co-morbidities. CBC is trash.

  11. There's a difference between Truckers condemning the government vs this twat condemning the entire country and its legitimacy. And I don't like Black history month (in Canada) because its nothing but a performative virtue-signaling tribute to the American culture wars. It makes no sense to have such a thing here. I don't think, given her parents came from Jamaica and lived in the Jane/Finch area of Toronto, that free trade was responsible for their poverty. Immigrants should feel free to criticize something the government is doing. Condemning the existence of Canada as a state is something entirely different. If you don't believe Canada should even exist then why are you here?

  13. We can't expect someone who has lived his or her entire life without once having it threatened to act rationally if it is. Any intruder in my home who is even remotely threatening is going to get the full force of whatever I have in my hands at the moment. They would have to have desperately unlucky timing to be shot, but if I'm chopping onions or changing a tire, so be it. Whatever happens would not have happened if they had not come into my home, so it is entirely their fault.

  15. Yes. We absolutely can. And PP has said he'll do exactly that. There was a time when the CBC filled a critical purpose which could not be achieved otherwise in a normal market environment. Those days are over. All we need to do is say 'there is no money for the cbc in next years budget at all". They will still exist, they can go find other revenue (they make other revenue now), they can become an independent company. If they can appeal to the market they can make money and pay their own way. If not they die. But either way- i don't have to pay for them any more.

  16. And I love that Hobby Lobby is standing up to LGBTQ. We need MORE companies to tell these screaming degenerates to stfu and learn to enjoy the same rights everyone else enjoys. Jesus loves everyone. What he doesn't love is wrong behaviors, and the Left is drenched in wrong behaviors.

  17. Yesterday's solutions don't solve tomorrow's problems. I honestly don't know why anyone in the market for a car right now wouldn't consider at least a Hybrid option. It saves money on ware and tear and gas. Moving towards an EV only future also assumes we've moved to a Green Energy future which assumes that storing electricity becomes do-able, which is not the case now. Solid State Batteries that don't require thousands of cells will be the norm in the future. I didn't buy an EV because I expect it to save the world. I bought it because I knew I had a regular commute of 90 kms and I didn't want to be a slave to Carbon Taxes and Gas Price swings caused by Geo political issues and Hurricanes in the Gulf. It's remarkably freeing being able to plug your car in at night and expect a full charge in the morning.

  18. Just so we're clear, it wasn't about the life and death of Jesus Christ. It was about the life and death of Brian Cohen. Jesus only had a bit part. From the article: That includes section 296 of the Criminal Code, which is the prohibition on publishing a “blasphemous libel.” It will now be relegated to the ash bin of history, along with other such relics as “challenging someone to a duel,” “possessing or publishing crime comics,” and “fraudulently pretending to practice witchcraft.” That's good to see. Fake witches and blasphemers should face no sanction.

  19. 1. Ok - so somebody who benefits from government culture subsidies should have their opinions disregarded but a former MP who makes a $90K pension should be listened to.... and Don Cherry who benefits from CBC Salary and Pensions should be listened to ? And ? https://www.taxpayer.com/media/2019_pensions.pdf 2. My quick Google search says the government paid them back $500K for their expenses and they paid about $600K including $100K for Max. 3. It all comes out of the same pot.

  20. You losed. Me winned!? 👌 Influence Canada's creation? Okay. You're arguing with yourself on that, because nobody said otherwise. 😆 I'm not sure you even know what you're arguing anymore. I said Roman, because the Romans already had most of these laws before Christianity, and then the Romans wrote the Bible which, (I guess coincidentally) included many of the same rules and concepts. Rome's values and laws don't count apparently though, because the Romans murdered each other, which totally didn't happen in Medieval Christian Europe...or something. 🙄

  21. Scraping the bottle of the barrel with excuses with this one. 1) Trucks in Ontario are throttled to 105 kms/hr. 2) EV, by and large, are much faster than comparable ICE Vehicles 3) I always find it pathetic when people think big SUVs are somehow a security blanket if they get T-boned by a Semi.

  23. Ha, this is coming from a man which said people had it good during the Soviet times. It was peace and harmony then, right? So what is stopping you from just going there now since you take issues with the West standing against a medieval force invading another sovereign country in 2023? When everything fails, he resorts to something about bills and economics. Yah, okii. You are a capitalist my friend? With your views on the Soviet Union, are you a capitalist at all after those statements about the Soviet Union and your constant rallies against "them", "the elites"? That sounds to me like Leninist proletariat language. When is the last time you worked in the private industry, in the real arena of work, and paid taxes through your nose?! When is the last time you got a bonus and the government took a lot of it like theirs? Have you walked the walk to lecture people about paying bills or did you benefit from some socialist programs in Canada? Another day in the internet of marxism where we are all equal in opinion sharing regardless of reality. unless you have a different perspective for me to read, so I can think about where you are coming from? Have a good day ahead and NATO is not going anywhere. The civilized world stands against Neanderthal Putin.

  24. Why are you being dishonest about goal posts being moved? There is none. At least when you look at our 'hate' speech as it's used today. It can be considered hate to state that a biological male is a male if they preferred to be thought of as a female. But that is in no way hatred at all, it's a factually correct statement. Some people just don't like other people saying it and it offends their sense of what is right and wrong, but that's just their opinion. It could be considered blasphemy to suggest that the universe MAY have come into being as an act of causation and evolution, and not by any deity's hand. But that's a factual statement - that may be how it happend. Some people just don't like other people saying it and it offends their sense of what is right and wrong, but that's just their opinion. The only 'difference' occurs when one group tries to claim the issues THEY care about are more important than the other's so it's "Justified" in their case. But no, it's exactly the same thing. In both cases it's people saying something that another person doesn't like and that other person wraps themselves in 'righteous indignation' and demands the other person be prevented saying such things by force of law regardless if they're true or not. Suppressing an "offensive" opinion or fact in the name of "A Greater Good" where no one is actually threatened and no crime is being proposed or committed is absolutely common to both. It's just a case of whether or not you prefer to wrap yourself in holy indignation or social justice outrage. Bullshit. I just did it without one and frankly you have no interest in analyzing anything. You are pursuing a rather cheezy online debating trick where you are afraid you'll lose the discussion as is so you try to drag it into another direction by getting mired into the specifics of one example after another, possibly with a little sealioning thrown in for good measure. As you tried to do with the native issue i posted. Very dishonest.

  25. Kids get transition drugs, change sex behind their parents’ backs and schools keep their secret. How does a minor, who can’t get a prescription without a parent, hide their transition to a different gender from their parents?

  26. I am talking about blaspheme laws, however they are applied and whoever applies them. Treating differences of opinion or viewpoints on topics that a certain group has basically declared 'sacred' as something demanding punishment is basically treating those views as a blaspheme. There are laws being put in place for such things on the internet, and as the cite points out, some of the NDP want laws in place to make it a crime to disagree on the residential schools topic. Your pretending its all good because the laws aren't yet in place is also disingenuous.

  27. I didn’t say people aren’t allowed to own guns, I said it wasn’t a RIGHT to own a gun. You understand that rights are defined in the Charter? https://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/const/page-12.html Where in the Charter is the right to own a gun? I linked the Charter above so you don’t have to search for it.

  28. Parents and families in Canada who believe in the Bible have zero rights in public schools. The children are indoctrinated with sexual orientation and gender identity ideology. Kids can decide to transition and school can keep it secret from parents. Children can get drugs to supposedly aid in transitioning. Another violation of human rights. There are violations of the right to free speech which I won't get into on here. Do you think a person should have the right to shoot an intruder in self defence of himself and his family? Also teaching kids leftism ideology in schools is a violation of rights. Jagmeet Singh has been known to go to public schools to visit kids. Another violation of rights.

  29. The reason many posters like anecdotes is because they lack actual data. And because they’re just trolls trying to get a rise out of people. Their goal isn’t conversation and debate over facts. How do you have a meaningful discussion about a topic with someone whose goal isn’t to discuss the topic?

  31. The CBC is definitely biased. And it shows in the stories they choose to cover, and in how they cover stories they have to cover. It can't very well refuse to cover Liberal government scandals, but it can do so less intensively than Conservative government scandals. It can choose to interpret what Liberals say harmlessly while interpreting what Conservatives say in the worst possible light. It can choose to interview 'third parties', like academics, who will give the opinion they want them to give. This organization actually launched a lawsuit against the Conservative party during the last election for snippets of news stories every party had been using since TV advertising was invented. And they attached the name of its main political commentator to the lawsuit.

  32. My sense of logic is offended by the idea of a "Black" history month when we had virtually no Black people in Canada prior to the 1970s and almost all Black people in Canada are immigrants or their children. My local radio station plays a song by a black artist because it's 'black history month' every morning while I'm brushing my teeth. Today's was Michael Jackson. Yesterday it was Whitney Houston. I'm like, whaaaa? It's all patronizing bullshit drawn from an obsession with American culture war topics. Good intentions? Like shitting on Canada on an international stage?

  33. Carter was a fundamentally good person and deeply invested in serving others more than serving himself. The economic circumstances pretty much ate his presidency alive, which is a shame. Would have been nice to see how he could have appealed to our better angels to make change.

  34. I always accuse these so-called conservatives of wanting to go back to 1953. Well 1953 had it's good points. Someone posting pics implying the President was a child molester wouold've had their face slap[ped clean down the block. Someone who bragged about molesting women, paid hush money to hookers, sucked up to US enemies while stabbing allies in the back and attempting to overthrow the elected gov't by force would have fried on the electric chair.

  35. No, they are 'out of controll'ing housing prices Controlling them would require a great deal more skill and effort. It's always easier to break something. The gov'ts incompetence is what prevents them from managing passports and ei cheques and now infrastructure to population ratios. This is about a failure to manage, not a management. You're not making much sense there. Are you suggesting you believe the federal gov't increased the property tax assessment on your home? That's not quite how it works actually. And as to inflation the over all inflation rate may very well be different for various items or even catagories. Porkchops can double and anchovy paste and mustard stay the same - so they say 'food' went up by 33%. For you personally it may seem like more because you're more likely to buy a pork chop than anchovy paste. Reading that reminds me that they've somehow managed to screw up making dope sales profitable as well despite the number of users out there There really isn't anything useful to be said about that part of your post.

  37. Why should you use military means to get what you're already being given? Trump was his submissive little boytoy. Putin used Trump's time in office to continue to increase his influence in both Eastern and Western Europe, along with the middle east while Trump divided western allies and drove them away from America. And it was Trump's own national security advisor who said Putin was waiting for Trump to withdraw from NATO. I don't know how you Trump admirers manage to reconcile your admiration for the man with the disdain and contempt virtually all of his own people have expressed towards him and his time in office. But it's quite odd.

  38. Maybe they are somewhat right - lots of young people died but not because of COVID itself, but because of the COVID vaccination they received.

  39. Here's how effective the jabs were at protecting kids: There was no vaccine for children under 12 for all of 2020 and all of 2021. The chart above is from Dec 10th, just 3 weeks after the Pfizer jab was approved for 5 yr olds. https://globalnews.ca/news/8332426/pfizer-vaccine-covid-children/ So the chart above shows that there were only 11 covid deaths among kids 0-11 after two full years worth of exposure to covid. Between the time when the Pfizer jab was approved for small children (Nov 18 2021) and November 7 of the next year, just a bit under 1 full year, 30 more small children died "of covid". 1) 11 deaths in 2 full years with no jab, 2) 30 additional deaths in just one year after the jab. I'll choose option 1, thanks.

  40. TBH, it's probably 100% of them that had co-morbidities. Do you remember when the MSM was pimping the fear as if everyone was dying of covid? They had to tell us about a "healthy 49 yr old" in England who died from covid because they had no examples from over here. There was a photo of the guy in the article though, he looked way more than 49 and he was obese. If any helthy kids died of covid here we'd have known about it, trust me.

  41. This is the breakdown of covid deaths by age in Canada now, heavily weighted towards older folks, so the CBC article was at least right about who was dying in 2022 and 2023.... Geez, let's see if I have some proof that CBC was lying, and covid deaths didn't start affecting a "Completely different patient population" in 2022, when it 'started to' affect the elderly disproportionately... To my eye, it looks like covid deaths were heavily weighted towards the 4% of our population that's over 80 before 2022, but hey, who am I to call the CBC and their toadies liars?

  42. One can easily dig up the data from international resources, the count for under 20 was really, like really minor. They have to be watching them filmed non-stop to "have seen them at the peak". More generally, in life you get what you're paying for. And that includes democracy of course; or a happy imitation of. You choose.
    1 point
  43. You believe that because he said it was, and repeated it every time and everywhere he could, but it doesn't bear out in the facts. Trump inherited a booming economy mid-late cycle and job growth was lower under him than Obama. Neither of those facts had much of anything to do with who was president, but politicians (and voters) like to pretend so. By this metric then, I assume you were a big Obama fan, right?
    1 point
  44. If I was spoiling for a fight I would have added that you are a mindless magachud who wrongly thinks that Trump was robbed of the last election. Or something along those lines. But I didn't. So no, I'm not.

  45. I think it's worth separating "Conservative" and "Trumpie". A lot of people who previously identified as "Conservative" could never get behind Donald Trump and his brand of politics, and these folk have very different attitudes from the ones that did. I would say your question isn't actually a question, but rather a summary of your attitudes and conclusions with a question mark added at the end. By making common sense arguments about these things. As silly as wokeness, or inclusivity can sometimes get, there are common-sense limits to it (especially within the legal framework) that can be referred to without defaulting back to hyperbole and slogans.
