  1. No one is saying 5 million deaths is not sad. What we are saying is: Is it worth all the other damage we are doing to the economy and society? Teen suicide is up 30-40% in the US and Canada, adults have reported suicidal ideation, as well. Do they matter less? Small businesses have been run into the ground, people are going bankrupt (not Bill Gates, obviously). Does that not matter, too? Our children are suffering educationally and socially, experts say this is going to lead to explosions of psychological issues. Do they not matter? We have willingly given up fundamental human rights, that we will never get back unless we fight for them all over again. Does that not matter? You keep spouting about the deaths from covid, but we have only begun to realize the vast collateral damage that has been done because instead of following the world's previously decided upon pandemic plan, Big Pharma and the world's billionaires saw an opportunity to make even more money and governments saw an opportunity to grab unlimited power. But yes, continue blaming the small amount of unvaccinated people for all this.?

  2. Yesterday there was over a million Covid cases in the US, that we know of. Each day the provinces test new record numbers of Covid cases and we hunker down waiting for the other shoe to fall: a rapid rise in admissions to the ICU’s. Only it hasn’t quite worked out that way. Hospitalizations have risen but the stays are shorter and almost everyone who gets Omicron, representing about 95% of Covid cases, recovers within a week. The ICU’s have lost some capacity but aren’t anywhere near full on average (Ontario with 1100 ICU beds has about 270 in use). The bigger issue causing us to “slow the spread” by putting students back online and adding restrictions is the fact that we’re testing so many people who we’d never know were positive without the tests, people who are asymptomatic or have mild symptoms. Stop testing these people and they’d be working. The health workers administering the useless tests could actually help highly symptomatic patients. The time is here to focus our health care on treating very sick people, and not just people sick from Covid. Let people live normal unmasked lives, seeing people, going out, travelling, and taking care of their many other needs. The vast majority of our vulnerable population is fully vaccinated and has access to boosters. Those who are more vulnerable can take extra precautions. Mask up if you want to. Many people have had Omicron and many more will get it. Eventually just about everyone will and the consequences for our young and vaccinated population are cold or flu-like. We’ll be fine. It’s time to declare Covid-19 endemic and end restrictions.

  3. I used the 2017-2018 flu season because that was a particularly bad flu year. But no one was screaming that the world was going to end, businesses and schools were not shut down, the world's economy was not ruined.

  5. Why? Because of the useful idiots called Canadians whom have allowed it to happen. Canada has become a country full of socialists and communists and those same buffoons now run and rule over Canada. Our dear Marxist PM of Canada leader is a communist. Comrade Fidel Castro was is daddy. It's too bad that Castro Trudeau was not born in Cuba. He would probably be the Marxist leader of Cuba today. Just where he wants to be. Here in Marxist Canada, we are not even allowed to have a conservative TV channel on the airwaves like the Americans have with FOX NEWS. That is because the CRTC is run by a bunch of socialists and communists. Even those so called conservative party's that we have here in Canada are all liberals disguised as conservatives. Disgusting indeed. ?

  7. Well....there are moderates, but Canada is not like the USA, where the majority are moderates. Moderates fill a pretty slim part of the pie - maybe 20%. And objectively Canada, and the USA, and the world is far more left leaning than it was say 40 years ago. So what is conservative is viewed from a increasingly left wing perspective.

  8. Given the current level of risk, we must not allow the current level of state control over human behaviour to continue. It’s clear that we are giving up on the freedoms that made our country one of the greatest places to live. The article below makes it clear that our current authoritarianism may become permanent, and it’s from “mainstream media”: https://apple.news/AXekVAkcmTReyixcu_az1Zg

  9. My experience is, and this goes for the USA as well as Canada, and probably the world, people are far LESS conservative than they THINK they are. W Bush I bet considers himself a die hard conservative, when in fact, by the measure of the Von Mises crowd, the kindest thing you can say is that Bush is an interventionist. (not a statist, but just one notch above). I bet Liberal voters actually see themselves as centrist. And CPC voters think of themselves as hard conservatives, when they are really in the middle.

  12. I am so anxious and just cannot wait to see and hear about the next new covid scariant virus that should be coming around in the next few months. Probably this new covid scariant virus will be the big grand daddy of them all. It must happen. I mean that if our big pharma globalists, of course with the help of our dear Marxist political leaders, can get their way in order to keep this scamdemic going then they will need and want to create something even bigger to come along like maybe a real virus like plague. Then another second and third booster jabs will be required to save our peasants sorry asses from dying from the ever increasing number of covid viruses that keep popping up every so often. Our politicians sure do love their covids. Just look at all the power and control that they now have over we the peasants that this covid scamdemic farce has given them. Every day we keep losing bits and pieces of our rights and freedoms. Enough already. ?

  13. It's sad to say but there are plenty of stunned Canadians that believe in socialism and communism. These stunned people should go live in a socialist or communist country for a year. I can bet that they could not wait to get the hell out of those communist countries as soon as possible. Maybe then those Canadians will finally get it and become real and true conservatives and fight to keep Canada free from communism. The bigger the government the less freedom one will have because the government will always be the problem and never the bloody solution. ?

  15. My arguments to date have been for data in Ontario and Alberta as those are the two that I have chosen to follow. But lets just look at Bubber's home province of Manitoba. 74.7% fully vaxxed are incurring 81.3% of the cases. Man those vaccines are REALLY stopping, preventing, halting, reducing spread. Hospital numbers on the rise too....58.5% of hosptalizations. 60% of ICU. The only category that still favors the vaxxed is deaths but again....97% of deaths occur with people that have pre-existing conditions. However we can't add another metric into this already confusing argument. ?

  18. Interesting....this dictionary disagrees with you Interesting....both of you geniuses forgot to look at where Bubber's post says "excellent job of" You were so infatuated with finding a semantical error in order to salvage one last hope for salvaging your mistake however even that is blown off its hinges when you put "excellent job". When 100 people get covid and the vaccinated make up 82% of those cases but only 79% of them are vaccinated.....you think this is an "excellent job of preventing" spread. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Oh man...you guys are just pure beauties today. Keep the laughs coming...its a slow day at work and I'm enjoying this.

  20. People fight this every step if the way, then bitch because we are still dealing with it. The earth is sick.over population, countries going backwards instead of forward because of religion. Countries and militaries been playing with this crap for yrs. Lets go back to the start. I believe this did start in china and the timeline with that and the 2 chinese scientists being kicked out of the country, and we are not allowed to know. Something smell fishy. And doug ford is getting it left right and centre and where is trudeau? Media running interference for him?

  22. "See it coming" is not exactly the same as "move that b..m". Why would it, what's the incentive for doing it, or penalty for not? The longer the crisis mode is, the more and better happy benefits and entitlements (out of public's pocket) would roll in. How could it go wrong?

  26. Well said. The bureaucracy in this country in general, and now thanks to this virus very obviously has learned and perfected the paradigm and practice of separation of compensation from responsibility: we are paid but you bear responsibility. This is nothing new of course, in the long history of humanity. It is even easy to predict the next stage: "bread and brioches". We're paid (by you) lavishly to care for you so why don't you love and cherish us, no we insist. Unless already there, can we tell?

  27. Most of the Canadian population was not even around in the mid 20th century when a lot of the FN kids were apprehended by child welfare and put in foster homes. We had nothing to do with what past provincial governments did decades ago. Secondly, I can't see how rescuing FN kids from a situation of neglect or domestic abuse was a bad thing. It wasn't considered wrong in those days. But today activists and the left consider everything white man did in the past as criminal or wrong. It's all part of the cancel culture / progressive woke movement and the red power movement to make white man pay and pay forever.

  28. As someone on the older side with heart problems, I would have to vote no to returning everything to normal. Why? Because I would like to stay alive. I take all possible measures to avoid Covid, but one only do so much and sometimes I have to go to places where there are other people. I do so cautiously with a mask as close to N95 as I can find. Spend most time at home, but I still have to go out sometimes for essential things/reasons. I don't really want to wander into a mass of people spreading Covid around. I might also might need the use of the hospital and would not like to see the medical system collapse or be overrun with Covid patients. It's bad enough now that the medical system is putting cardiac and cancer patients on hold, claiming they are "elective" surgery patients. The word "elective" is dishonest and deceptive. Many of them are urgent cases who have just as much right to health care as anyone else. Reportedly thousands have died waiting. Canada' public health care system is ignoring treating everyone and everyone has a right to health care. So much for the "public" health care system. I would give it a rating of 2 out of 5. They have to find a way to treat everyone in a timely manner.

  29. It's those fully vaccinated ones that needs to be locked down in quarantine. They are the ones that took the experimental covid vaccines, and they are catching the covid bug and are spreading the covid bug around. It's the vulnerable that needs protection from their dear political Marxist leaders who have been responsible for this covid virus nonsense to continue on. Their constant propaganda and the big push on for everybody to take their experimental vaccines and wear those face diaper masks have done nothing to stop the spread of covid. This whole dam pile of globalist Marxist big pharma bull chit should have been stopped in it's tracks several months ago. it's those Branch Covidians that are keeping this covid bull chit alive and well. Now the same bunch of Branch Covidians are running around in a state of fear and panic to try and get their booster jabs so they will not get this Omni"con" covid virus, once again, and getting faulty PCR tests. When will these Branch Covidian buffoons ever learn? ?

  31. Yup this is media-hyped mass hysteria. Everyone I know who is really bright and does their homework knows this has become a manufactured crisis. If there were no restrictions right now, no tests, and no screening, we’d have a higher absentee rate in schools and workplaces for several weeks until Omicron infects everyone. My guess is that half the population ether got it and was asymptomatic, had mild symptoms and didn’t bother getting tested to find out, or they got a confirmed test result. It’s spreading rapidly. Hopefully it crowds out other variants and future variants are milder, which is typically the case. We’re fine. The vulnerable should get the boosts I think and should be more careful generally. That’s it. Drop all restrictions. Endemic.

  32. Flu and many other illnesses are contagious. We live with these risks and don’t expect a bubble-wrapped totally risk-free sedentary existence. Among our highly vaccinated population we’ve been averaging 0-15 deaths a day for months. That’s about 3,000 deaths a year, and researchers are realizing that a sizeable portion of these deaths are of people who were admitted to hospital for non-Covid problems, but they happened to test positive, which isn’t the same thing as dying of Covid. About 50,000 people died in the US of flu annually pre-Covid. Canada has about one ninth of the US population, so let’s suppose 5500 people die of flu in Canada each year. Cut that number in half and Covid deaths are comparable. So yeah, get your boosts and wear your mask if you’re worried. Our dominant variant, Omicron, makes up approximately 95% of cases. Almost all people infected with it recover within a week. We can lift restrictions and live with the risk. What we’re doing now is motivated by misplaced fear.

  33. This is false equivalency. Obey stops signs, speed limits, traffic lights and wear seatbelts are laws created for the public to follow, with evidence pointing to cases where failure to do so causes great harm or death. Obey stops signs would be equivalent to washing your hands at a hospital. What you are suggesting instead is we manage where stops signs are placed and how we should design or run stop signs in neighborhoods. Why would we be asked to manage stops signs or hospitals, we pay into such systems so we are not required to think about such things. What is the point of paying managers if we are the managers of these systems? The equivalency would be for a mobile company telling you that you use too much internet, thus you are to blame for the shortage in bandwidth, thus they force you to use less internet or limiting your phone. Although this may be true, this is not your problem. You pay for them to solve these problems for you. There is nothing about pay for service system that is community based. If it was a voluntary system, where your responsibilities were treated as payment, I could see your point. But its not.

  35. The general public is not responsible for maintaining the health care system. There are a number of high paid individuals who chose to take a position. A position where they maintain the health care system, specifically for the greater good of the public. Look to those individuals who are responsible, not the general public, if need be replace the responsible individuals. Generally we do not blame young teens for breaking their leg and causing an extra body in the emergency system. Vaccines are not a guarantee and do not prevent hospitalizations or ICU cases.
