  1. The UK has chosen the right path, ending all restrictions and accepting the risks. Life is full of risk, but there can be no full life for a society that’s crippled by it. The vulnerable have access to vaccines that mitigate the risks to a reasonable level. Restrictions have made workplaces miserable and social activities anti-social. We still haven’t taken stock of or addressed the non-Covid impacts of pandemic restrictions. End all restrictions immediately.

  2. I'll answer for you: no. You can say "woman" still, you can say "Merry Christmas", and you can say the n-word. You can scream on a street corner that the world is flat as long as you're not causing a riot. People who want to say we are like North Korea now look like complete dolts to me, but that's just me maybe.

  3. I'll admit I just hopped back on this forum recently after an extended leave, and I haven't really had time to gauge the temperature of opinions here. but I just want to push back here a bit in the interest of honesty and rationality. I'm not sure what you define as "antivaxxer" or what segment of the population you are referring to in this clearly derogatory way, so it's difficult for me to judge exactly who you are so hostile towards. But I will just submit that there is a significant segment of the population who don't fully trust the vaccine but who are articulate, educated, and go to great effort to "deal in the facts"...and are very pro-vaccine, just not this one. If you are referring to this group as "a scourge on society", "flat earthers", and "conspiracy theorists", then I really think you are doing your argument, and your position a disservice. If I am misunderstanding the intended target or your vitriol, apologies. I just hate the underhanded tactics that some are using to bully and insult their way through an argument that would be better served with civil discourse. The sooner we stop fighting each other and throwing up strawmen, the sooner we can infuse some objectivity into the debate.

  4. I continue to find inflation numbers served up by POTawa to be a bold faced lie. My groceries alone are up perhaps 35% in a year in a household of one person. Gasoline here is up 40 cents/L in a year. My condo fees are up which is hardly surprising since they include all utilities. 4.4% is laughable.

  5. It's hard to compare since it looks like the Tamil Nadu had a slower uptake of covid cases. In all the cases above the time from the peak case load to the base is around the same time. I will say that Dehli and Uttar Pradesh seem to be doing a much better job of managing covid atm, but I don't know enough about the region to speculate why. Ie, Ontario is doing better at managing covid than Alberta is, but that has little to nothing to do with treatment.

  6. That’s the spirit, comrade. Your sacrifices for the cause are duly noted. Keep up the good work. We may have just a few minor asks along the way. It will pay off. For the greater good.

  8. I don't know....vaccinated people? Thing is...if we are really trying to have an honest discussion/debate, it shouldn't matter if your vaccinated or unvaccinated. This is a strategy that is being intentionally used to divide us and put people against people. Government loves this because it takes the focus off their terrible, failed policies and redirects the attention and blame back onto certain members of society. It's a disgusting ploy. Regardless of my vaccination status now or in the future, I will always side with the rights of people who wish to make their own decisions over what medical interactions they choose, this is not the business of the government, of me, or of the loud fickle mob...period!.

  11. The government has already bought and paid for enough doses for everyone to get their 4th booster. Same with the children's vaxxes. They were bought and paid for before they were even actually approved. Trudeau paid the provinces a billion dollars each to implement the passports, so yeah. None of this is going away any time soon. Not even if 100% were vaxxed. That's what the militant pro-vaxxers don't get.

  13. I mean c'mon. 70% of the people dying tin the UK are fully vaxxed. Numbers are going up and up in other countries, too. And none of you are the least bit concerned about that? You're still blaming the unvaxxed? You're still "The government says I'm good, so I'll just continue beating my fellow citizens until they submit like I did." When they say There are none so blind as those who will not see. It's really true.

  14. VAERs is only one metric. I think it may only be a matter of time before the truth is revealed on the street level. I just heard this morning of 2 people who I know personally who had complications due to the vaccine. The doctors were very reluctant to admit it, however they have now come out and determined that in both cases, the vaccine was likely the cause. First case, an acquaintances daughter was advised not to get the shot because of a recent unrelated clot in her brain. The college she attends would not let her back to school without the vax so she went against the doctors orders. She now has bleeding in the brain again. Second case, a co-worker of a family member ended up in the hospital with blood clots in her lungs. Young and healthy before the shot. doctors now admit it was likely due to the vaccine. Both of these cases are anecdotal and will undoubtedly be dismissed by the majority of people who are pro-vaccine. Its a bit different for me because I know these people. I think once more people start seeing cases like this in their own social circles and start connecting the dots, it may start to sway opinions. Or maybe not.

  15. It's about freedom of choice and whether anybody should be forced to take a vaccine that they not want to take and nothing more. It was fine for the women abortionists to say that their bodies are theirs, and their choice of what they can or cannot do with their bodies, as far as abortions go, was their right and their business and not the governments business to tell them what they can do with their bodies. The government went along with the abortionists and supported their pro abortion rights. But yet, the non vaccinated have no rights to deny as to what the government wants to jab into their bodies. Either you take the vaccine experimental jab or face discrimination and segregation. The non vaccinated people of today are now being treated like the black slaves were during the time of slavery where blacks were denied entry into many white owned business establishments. That slavery was finally ended. Now it is back again but this time for the non vaccinated. Shameful indeed. Here in Canada today discrimination and segregation is now being widely practiced and enforced by our Canadian politicians with their permission. Except for maybe a few politicians who are standing up for our rights and freedoms the rest are all in for discrimination and segregation. Hopefully, these scum will be made accountable for their actions and their crimes against Canadians and crimes against humanity. The gulag is to good for those traitors. ☹️

  16. The way I feel now, after interacting with militant vaxxers, is I'm even more hesitant. If there was some responsibility being taken by governments and Big Pharma for the trauma they are inflicting, maybe I would be less hesitant. But why should I be forced to take an experimental vaccine that may possibly kill me or lead to convulsions so bad I can no longer work and get nothing for it? The people who have been harmed by this and experienced convulsions and other adverse effects to the point they can no longer work have yet to see a dime from the so-called "Vaccine Injury Fund". And they are getting more and more vocal, frustrated and desperate. They feel completely abandoned. But of course, you barely hear a peep from the media about them. It's been over 3 months, nearly 4 for my sister. She is still barely able to work because of debilitating headaches, dizziness, general lethargy, etc. If it weren't for me, she'd be bankrupt now. If I take the vax and get the same adverse reactions, then what do we do? Not one of you cares about people like us.

  17. Are the anti-vax people on this forum just flinging poo at the wall and hoping it sticks? “It’s the people who would die anyway that are dying” ”My friend in an unnamed hospital says it’s not so bad” ”The MSM and fake news aren’t telling us about all those vaccine related deaths” ”A father of three beautiful girls says restrictions are bad”
    1 point
  18. MSM is not telling the stories of people who have been harmed or died from the vax. Seriously, watch some of the videos and read some of the stories of what people are going through after this vax. They are really frustrated because the media is not telling people what's truly happening. When things are going very very wrong, it's NEVER MSM that is honest. Sheesh, look at countries where the government turns totalitarian - you think you're getting the truth from government sponsored media. Wakey Wakey

  19. That's just a hypothetical. COVID patients tend to spend a very long time in an ICU. They can't breath on their own. If people don't believe the numbers governments are giving, then it's tough to debate the merits of any given decision. You also can't debate with a Flat Earther who thinks a photo of the Globe is fake.

  20. India has since removed Ivermectin from their Covid treament plans due to "lack of evidence". It also took significantly longer for the spike in question to subside in India. Looking at a wave that happened at a similar time but did not use Ivermectin, we see a similar timeframe This is of course not an apples to apples comparison, but on the surface it doesn't look like Ivermectin had much of an effect.

  24. It only took one minute to substantiate Army Guy’s claims and here is your CDC link. This says about 9,000 deaths in the given range. Army Guy said 11,000. Close enough for me. https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/safety/adverse-events.html “From December 14, 2020, through October 18, 2021 VAERS received 8,878 reports of death among people who received a COVID-19 vaccine.” Hope this helps. Always happy to educate you people.

  26. The 99.991% of the people who didn't have a serious reaction is a big number. The 0.009% that did have a serious reaction is a small number. If it helps to get things back to normal, it is a good tradeoff.

  27. With all due respect, Army Guy, there is a deliberate campaign from places like Russia and China to sow distrust of the vaccine (among other types of disinformation) through troll farms. This is why I ignore or dismiss so many of the cites offered by Goddess/OW/Etc. and why I'll ignore "Burning Platform" and "much ado about corona". https://fortune.com/2021/07/23/russian-disinformation-campaigns-are-trying-to-sow-distrust-of-covid-vaccines-study-finds/ https://www.politico.com/newsletters/global-pulse/2021/01/28/what-chinas-vax-trolling-adds-up-to-491548 A campaign of misinformation from regimes that are opposed to us makes more sense to me than the idea that thousands of professionals in Canada and 100s of thousands around the world are all in some kind of plot to trick us all into taking a vaccine in the midst of a pandemic. MSM may not always get it right and they may be tilted left or right, but they're a darn site more trustworthy than random sites on the internet.

  28. Your problem is that you try to cut Jesus' word into little pieces and say this piece is for those people, and this one for those. That is fundamentally untrue. You can't limit God. His word is for all His children who ever existed. Your mind has clearly gone to some strange place.

  29. A lot less, and while it was a time where people needed a helping hand, well over 350 bil is to much. there were a lot of people taking advantage of the cerb, lot's of kids where collecting, while living at home with parents earning over 150 k , lots of examples of people cheating getting caught and not having to pay anything back...according to the experts cerb and business programs cost the government just over half that amount, nobody is saying where the other half was spent... Our government has already put a price on a life, and what they are willing to pay for each one, in a soldiers case it is one years wages and a free burial or about 60 k...of course that is based on rank, but you get the idea. Plus you have the option of getting buried in the nations military cemetery in Ottawa for free. Your not suggesting that there is a direct collation to spending and the amount of deaths this virus has taken are you ? I mean taken the many precautions required did not cost the government a whole lot. social distance free, masks, government did spend a whack on masks for hospitals and first responders everyone else had to buy them, staying home for a lot of people it was free, the government did pay out Cerb for those that where put out of work , but we have already taken that into account. I think the most important thing we take out of this whole pandemic are the lessons we are not talking about the condition of our health care to handle any mass causality event.. shortage of ICU's, and staff to man them, and also our lack of federal government emergence supplies such as masks, gowns and more, and to have them made in country...also our long term care homes, the election is over they will soon be on their own once again, with maybe Quebec, because they are putting additional funding towards it. And shutting the country down for a short period of time was required, but it should have been a total shut down no one in , and not wait until the virus took hold with people coming and going from China and india etc... vacationers should have been told your on your own, but your not getting back in, I'm talking after Justin told them it was not a good idea hundreds of thousands left any ways then bitched they could not get home right away...

  33. Winnipeg Free Press, Oct. 16, 2021 Front Page Article "Bracing for the Storm" ".....roughly 10,000 out of 42,000 doctors, nurses and other healthcare workers" are prepared to lose their jobs, rather than take this jab. That's just one province. I guess this is part of the "consequences" that Aristedes keeps pointing out for others, but never himself. It appears you people are so pee-in-your-pants terrified of unvaccinated people that you'd rather have NO nurse looking after you in the ICU than an unvaxxed one. You'd rather have a shortage of organ donations (estimates are over 6000 now that have removed their names from the organ donation program in Canada) than let unvaxxed people go to restaurants. Enjoy your consequences.

  34. One is always free to exchange individual freedoms for unquestioned and blind obeying the authority. But remember, or look where it got them. So do I get it correctly, that not having to wear a clown's cap or anything that enlightened master is telling you to, is not freedom but privilege? That can be granted and revoked by the Master on a whim? And that is not a problem, for today's people?

  36. Restrictions are now normalized. People have been weened onto them. A single media report of a healthy child dying, however unusual, triggers a political reaction. Now it’s Delta Plus. I don’t see restrictions lifting any time soon. “Reasonable” has come to mean catering to the paranoid and fearful. At what point does personal responsibility to take precautions replace state imposed restrictions, tests, etc.? I already know the answer for Canada. Never.
