  5. Anti-mask types were protesting on Parliament Hill the other day. They weren't alone, as tens of thousands of others protested in other countries. You can find videos of screaming, ranting, furious and even violent people who don't want to wear a mask all over the internet. You can also find, in great numbers, people who don't believe in vaccines, who believe they cause autism or any manner of other problems. Flat earthers are making a comeback, as incredible as that is to believe. And then we've got these 'anti-racism' loons, parading through cities, screaming in people's faces, attacking people, burning and looting stores outraged beyond bearing by police shootings which so far have no evidence of racism behind them. Donald Trump's electoral fortunes are looking up, his poll numbers rising, which is an astonishing thing given his incompetence and demonstrated idiocy. And this is due, in no small part, to the idiots screaming through cities about racism - who despise him. Yes, not only are they demonstrating against police racism in the shooting of black people despite no evidence of racism, but they're doing it to the benefit of an administration they despise and loath. If Trump gets re-elected it will be in large measure due to BLM and ANTIFA. And dumb. Dumb people voting for dumb people. There are people who would crawl through a valley of glass to vote for Trump. There are frenzied Trump supporters covering their entire lawns and houses with Trump signs, putting Trump signs on their cars and trucks and bodies. Most of these people still have the bizarre belief he cares about them despite him putting in four years demonstrating he does not, and doing absolutely nothing for them other than taking away their health care. Trudeau is most definitely not a smart guy. Those around him don't seem to be very bright either. Gerald Butts spent a decade trying to destroy Ontario's economy with green initiatives which almost all failed miserably. Has that warned anyone away? Nope. Now he and Trudeau are closeted together, eagerly putting together even bigger green initiatives to destroy Canada's economy. All despite the fact nothing Canada does - including disappearing off the face of the Earth - is going to have any noticeable impact on global warming/climate change. While the world builds hundreds of coal fired power plants a year Canada will bankrupt itself trying to be green. Dumb. Everywhere you go you see this sea of dumb. And most of it is 'educated'. Now educated doesn't meant what it used to mean. Educated used to mean a person who had a degree of sophistication which came from an education which was wide and deep. Today our universities are trade schools with a narrow focus, and which are filled with ideologues of the far Left far more intent on indoctrinating the young with their bizarre and unworkable beliefs than in actually educating them. Thus students emerge with a vast knowledge of ideologically bred beliefs which are almost all without any foundation or evidence. Doesn't matter. They believe it all with the devotion of the religious fanatic. Schools and universities have failed us. They have produced a legion of people far dumber and less knowledgeable than their parents and grandparents, and the consequences for democracies are likely to be the end of democracies.

  8. Nowhere in the articles has it said how the 13 year old died. Are you not presuming how the 13 year old died, before any medical expert has said so? And when medical experts say an 85 year old died of COVID, you will disagree with that medical expert. I will go with the expert opinion in both cases. So yes. My bias is to tend to believe the experts who work in the field. I’ll freely admit to my bias.

  12. The whole problem is the whole movement is one big joke that hasn’t established anything. Not to mention the wacko claims like the atmosphere on earth becoming like Venus. If people REALLY believed that the coasts will be swallowed up by the oceans, would there not be a fire sale on Miami real estate? It has not been shown that the current warming trend is unusual on a historical basis. Unusual for the 20th century sure, but we saw a medieval warming period It has not been shown that human activity is the MAIN culprit in global warming It has not been shown that the net negatives of warming are or are not outweighed by all the positive – longer growing seasons Mankind cannot even predict the future of the stock market with its thousands of variables – even by computer models – though they try. Imagine predicting the climate future with MILLIONS of variable. We really do not know what is coming In any case we don’t know that the damage caused by warming will be significant And if it is it might be more worth our money to deal with the damage rather than destroying our economies The whole fraud is littered by frauds like Al Gore and Suzuki and tree believers who are part of a climate cult. In the end it is green socialism.

  13. I’m a narcissist? That’s an interesting view. I thought you were being very specific about the vaccines, right up until I asked about AZ. But that’s fine…. No one can pressure you into conversing. I don’t have that power. What did I bring up that wasn’t discussed? How was I demanding? It’s a discussion forum. I was interested in discussion. If you’re not, or you want to limit the discussion to everything other than your thoughts on AZ, that’s ok with me.

  23. 1. Nice. Your prejudice about Eastern Canadians seems to be the basis for your political views. It really doesn't give us much to work with, sorry. 2. You mean goodies like government subsidies for oil and gas ? Pipelines purchased by Federal and Provincial governments ? 3. Don't "fit"... Sorry but politics involves discussion and exchange of ideas. Sorry if the idiots back east have this dumb idea, we should just listen to your words I guess... 4. Your ideas are Marxism, modified to put Eastern Canada as the capitalists. Do better. 5. Simplified political theory for simpletons. We get the same from the Left when they compare Harper, Scheer, O'Toole to Hitler. Why exactly are you on a message board if you think there are so many morons on it ? You worked in advertising by your own admission which means you took advantage of idiots your whole career I guess...

  26. My own Son-in-law left a senior post in the military since he did not want to see his regiment destroyed under his watch. Our political anti-military will (started by PET, augmented by Hillier, perpetuated by the current band of cabinet morons) was enough to destroy a lifetime of his work. Procurement here has been a political pork barrel dedicated to pandering to Quebec and rewarding political supporters for a very long time. Couple that with being over 2 trillion in debt and even if we could straighten out the graft and corruption we can't pay the bills anyhow.

  27. The problem is that here in Canada we have way too many stupid and brain dead zombie Canadians out there who keep listening to those elite globalist buffoons like Decrapio and Prince(Epstein)Andrews. We saw in this election that those same dummy zombies went and put Castro Trudeau back in power. Castro hates their bloody guts but yet they still gave the commie his old job back. Canada is truly becoming an hopeless and forever lost and doomed country. ?

  28. TBH they're not really attacking Saudi oil, are they? They just target Alberta oil (oil sands), and US oil (fracking). Leftists get freaky on Alberta oil. Just say pipeline and they shriek about oil in our pristine tidewaters. "ONLY SAUDI OIL CAN GO THERE!" Where does the money come from to attack North American oil? You tell me TB.

  29. After all of his serious ethics breaches, and his decidedly undemocratic ways, what makes you think that he's the 'lesser of two evils"? Do you think that O'Toole would use the PMO to enrich his family? Would he give $900M of taxpayer money to his own Hitler Youth Camp? Would O'Toole create a law specifically for a criminal entity that has a court-documented history of bribing Canadian politicians, force the AG to use the law, and then punt her ass from office if she refused? Would O'Toole be stupid enough to allow flights from the epicentre of a pandemic without any screening, quarantines, or travel restrictions? Would he get sucked into telling Canadians not to wear masks? Would he be dumb enough to give all of our PPE away at the start of a pandemic? Would he put all of our eggs in the "Chinese vaccine" basket and ignore American vaccines entirely, and then end up poaching the Yank vaxxes from the 3rd world charity pool? Would O'Toole be so stupid that he'd put our country in the top 10 to reach 5,000 covid deaths, when we have the world's 40th-largest population and we're 189th in pop density? Would he allow people to come here right from Wuhan, walk around freely, and then just suddenly prevent Canadians from walking in public parks the next day? Where do you get the impression that O'Toole is more undemocratic, stupid or evil than Justin Trudeau is? In what way is he worse?

  30. Can stats can explain why my food bill is gone up over 20 %, i guess that would depend on what food your purchasing would it not, your suggesting that everyone's food bill is the same right across the country. I live in NB , My wife is a health nut and buys shit tones of fresh veg, fruit, and meat but my food bill has gone up well over 20 %, when was the last time you paid 45 dollars for 2 cheap steaks other than in a restaurant. So what your trying to tell me is carbon pricing is not effecting the rest of the market, how can fuel go from just under a buck a liter, to now over 1. 40 and climbing rapidly not have an effect on the rest of the market.. and since everything we touch is transported by mostly road. and Justin is doubling his carbon taxes to meet his new goals, still think carbon pricing is not having an huge effect. Combine all of this with price gauging from the pandemic and yes i 'm sticking with my 20 % figure.

  31. Because the media at least was a trusted institution. They are to remain skeptical and balanced in their reporting, which they clearly are not. So it really is a symptom of leftism in general, where we are to trust our betters and never question so called experts – which the media like to pretend they are. So yes, in one way you are correct. That is why Sun News failed. But perhaps the population’s political bent is a result of the media? Canadians are like sheep to the slaughter, because unlike the USA, we actually trust our media at about 70% or so. For instance when has the media EVER shown skepticism to the outlandish claims of the global warming cult?

  40. He had no choice. Nobody could have known about the pandemic. It hit the whole world real hard and all major industrial countries borrowed heavily many hundreds of billions so that their badly hit nations could survive the storm. . He had to support Canadians in a very bad time. Any other party in power would have done the same.

  44. It should be remembered that Trudeau initially tried to get a vaccine deal with...China. Yes that China, the country that unleashed Covid on the world and has yet to pay any price. The massive giveaway of "free" money most certainly helped him as most of his fan base fall for his lines and have little to no understanding about where governments actually get their money. Trudeau: "WE TOOK ON DEBT SO CANADIANS DIDN'T HAVE TO" - ProudToBeCanadian You should realize by now that Justin Trudeau does not have to deliver on any of his promises. History proves that all he needs to do is preen for the cameras and keep breaking celebrity records for selfies. The bar has never been set lower in this country for a politician.

  45. I think you might get 30 maybe 40 % of that number to get the jab if we are really lucky, the others all think their is some government conspiracy going on that they are trying to control their mind or something...until they make it mandatory there is going to be a large chunk that will say no way, and until they see the bodies stacked up in the hospitals nothing will convince them of anything...by then it will be to late... Sometimes i have to shake my head and wonder how these people can navigate life with having kids, buying cars and homes, managing money they whole life thing, but somehow mange to convince themselves this is all a conspiracy theory or the vaccines are going to kill you...

  47. If this were true, then they'd be as likely to believe misinformation because believing this stuff requires the lack of critical thinking as a first step. I would expect (though I can't find any studies verifying) that educated conservatives would also be less likely to fall for fake news. Because conservatives tend to be from smaller and rural areas, they are less likely to have pursued higher education and had that extra training in critical thinking. This article, from Scientific American (Pro-science in MBFC), suggests also that it's extremists of either ideology who are most likely to accept and spread fake news. Perhaps low education is also correlated with lower levels of education, but right now I'm too lazy to look into that. I don't know what you mean by 'radical left theories'. You disbelieve that racism is systemic; others disagree. If universities, as part of their program of study, provide statistics about the treatment and incarceration of black people (for example) - would that qualify as "radical left theories" in your mind?

  48. Pew found that its the older, and less educated people who vote for Trump. Pew also tells us that its the less educated who are more likely to be anti-vaxxers. This article, from the Economist (rated least biased an Mediabiasfactcheck) provides a more in-depth analysis of who tends to believe in conspiracy theories and the trend remains that better educated people (college graduates) are less likely to believe or spread misinformation. There's a lot more nuance in this artice, but the author agrees with your conclusion that disaster may be looming. However, they fail to lay blame at the foot of any particular group. I didn't find any proof of that; it seemed more that his ratings remain the same. We'll never agree on the racism bit, so I didn't even bother with that.
