  1. I hear a lot of people whining that this election was unnecessary. That is incorrect. We all heard a lot of voters who were unhappy with Prime Minister Trudeau. By calling this election, we had the opportunity to replace him. This was their big chance. If you didn't like the government, you wanted this election.

  2. Be careful what you wish for. If they go that means fewer people to carry the financial load in this country. Those would be the people that subsidize Quebec and Atlantic Canada. Just saying.

  3. Without the massive spending to support people and businesses during the pandemic, we would be in an economic wasteland. China did not "unleash" covid 19, it was where the virus first infected humans. China didn't have much say in the matter. People seem to forget Prime Minister Harper inherited a healthy surplus from the Liberals and took us into massive deficit with nothing to show for it.

  5. Maybe we have different definitions of “looney”. I would think the term looney tends to refer to someone who can’t use logic and reason to form their opinions. It was stated that 2/3 Canadians are “looney”. Do you think that’s a fair generalization? Or are you defining “looney” as anyone who is not of your political stripe? In that case, I would agree with you…. 2/3 Canadians are not of your political stripe, and are thus “looney” as you define it.

  6. Why is it surprising then that more of the media would tend towards the general population? Why would they cater to people who are a small demographic of the Canadian population? Edited to add further: Why would they change who they are to appease a portion of the population of a different political bent?

  7. Do you think everyone who is “left leaning” is actually a looney?

  8. When the left runs out of arguments they usually play the racist card, So far hasn't happened. Either the left are completely dishonest or just deluded because Canada is so left wing. So left wingers comically look at the Liberals as center, which they clearly are not. Again I don't know if its dishonesty, but I am starting to think they REALLY see the Liberals as the center.

  10. This country needs good paying jobs and industry and to export something which makes money so it can spend it on social services you liberals like. Did you complain when Harper spent billions to prop up the auto sector? East coasters seem content with their perpetual high unemployment as long as their pogey cheques - subsidized by Alberta - stay high. Coward? That was a brave thing to do in that it would be far easier to simply push the problem down the road for someone else to address - the way Trudeau did. Maybe you just don't understand people who work for a living.

  13. Still, FOX NEWS is a lot better to listen to than the rest of those leftist liberal pro democrat news lying outlets like CNN and MSNBC. Those two liars have been caught many times lying about the Republicans and Trump thousands of times by FOX NEWS. They are all liars and nothing more. Only buffoons and idiots will listen to those media communists. ?

  16. Is that all that you can come back with is that "they all get caught spinning lies" reply, easterner? Why can't you show me as to where FOX NEWS is supposedly the worse of them all to you than all of the rest? Come on, I am still waiting? I think that I just caught you trying to spin lies about FOX NEWS. Your hatred and bias is starting to show for FOX NEWS. Gotcha lefty. LOL. I do believe that the many leftist liberal lying news media outlets in America like CNN and MSNBC and the many other leftist leaning news outlets in America do lie all the time and the leftist media does help in trying to spread as much bull chit as possible about and against the Republicans to help the democrats to try and make them look good in order to try and save their sorry commie asses. It never works. It's the dumbocrats that always end up looking worse. If you are one of those lefty's who listen to the leftist liberal news media outlets in America and Canada all the time then you are someone to worry about. Cuckoo. ?

  21. I have watched a bit of CPAC over the last couple of weeks. It seemed to me they concentrated mostly on the GTA and Quebec but that's not unexpected in this country. I do not watch CBC, CTV or Global News and I got sick of the Ottawa Citizen and the now similar Sun chain. I get news stories from The Post Millennial and Candace Malcolm that you are unlikely to see from the usual big names in the business. Rebel News too although I'm not a subscriber.

  22. I watch FOX NEWS pretty much all of the time and they have shown me many times that all of the MSM American news media outlets always parrot the same words. They all copy off one another. if one leftist liberal network says the word conspiracy all the rest will say the word conspiracy. Polly want a cracker. LOL. Every night on FOX NEWS there is a guy called Gutfeld who has a talk show and is the host of that talk show that is now the #1 late night talk show in America beating out all of the rest of those late night leftist liberal pro democratic talk shows like lefty liberals Kimmel and Corbett have. Not too many people watch those buffoons anymore. ?

  23. We don't know to this day whether it came from one of those disease breeding wet markets or the disease breeding Wuhan lab. China was certainly not open and transparent with the rest of the world while this thing was rapidly spreading but that's par for the course for a Communist country.

  24. Wow, how far back in time are we going to support that comment, and by east Canada you referring to what Ontario or Quebec, certainly not Atlantic Canada you'd have to go back to the 1800's for them to be relevant.

  31. It's alright. For Tories, I would be happy with the score. O'Toole didn't f*ck up, the Tories maintained their ground and have not lost the popular vote. The PPC did 5%. It's an incredibly high score for them. Imagine a united conservative party.

  33. Liberals winning, no surprise. We are in for more mismanagement and overall incompetence with this dismal so-called leader. More government overreach over our daily lives. I had a feeling back in 2015 that Trudeau might be near unbeatable mainly because of his name and his growing fan base. The blackface, repeated ethics violations and other scandals haven't seriously hurt him. I think this speaks volumes about the average low information Liberal supporter. As an Ontario resident my heart goes out to the Western provinces which will continue to get royally screwed by the Liberals, business as usual.

  34. Nope...not going to happen. Canada is not going to "sink" a Russian submarine in the Arctic during peacetime, even if it could do so. U.S. and Russian submarines have operated with impunity in the "Canadian" Arctic for decades with Canada granting permission for passage after the fact, because that is all it can do. Canada cannot run with the big dogs...and never will. That's OK.

  35. The Canadians took seats away from the Libs in the Atlantic Provinces. At least 4 so far, maybe more. What we still need: 1) the Bloc to take away some seats from the turd in Que 2) the PCs to pick up some seats in O'Toole's home turf.

  36. Hey moron if only you hadn’t spent your entire life being uneducated and uninformed you wouldn’t be getting the facts wrong now. It is a fact that illegal immigrants are not covered by the healthcare system. Nor are there so many sick illegal immigrants that they’re burdening the system. There are 38 million Canadians. It’s simple math dummy. But you’re probably shit at that also.

  38. The problem is that while in Australia all major parties agree on the importance of a strong military, the Liberals in Canada never have, and when in opposition use every opportunity to politicize any and all military purchase and actions. For example, they got us into Afghanistan, but once the Tories were in power they did everything they could to make Canadians want us out. They searched for 'scandal' in everything from how Americans treated prisoners we handed over to the cost of new equipment. The Liberals signed us onto the F35 purchasing program, but once in opposition they did everything in their power to make it seem like a complete waste of money. every action, every death in combat was another opportunity for them to score points against the Tories. And now in power they've pushed all capital projects to the rear burner because Trudeau only cares about spending money on improving his popularity. And he figures the Canadians who care most about the military probably don't vote Liberal anyway.

  39. You have the right to not be INTENTIONALLY infected by others. There is legislation for that. But no one has the right to be NOT infected with anything. That's "act of God" stuff. People go around infecting others with the flu and the common cold all year long, both of which are also deadlier and harder on the elderly and those with comorbidities. What are you going to do, start suing the person (you think) gave you the flu and cost you a week at work? Grama gets a flu, which turns into pneumonia, which leads to cardiac arrest - are you going to sue? And who do you sue? All this for an illness with over 99% survival rate. It's like shooting a bazooka into a crowd to kill a mosquito.

  41. Yeah, I too avoid all the TV news. They are carbon copies of one another and push the liberal narrative. I just check my iphone for news and it usually links me to the National Post, which is at least less left of centre than the rest.

  42. Canada can scale up fast militarily if the will and commitment are there. The skeleton force exists, less a Marines and Airborne. Our JTF2 still runs with the big guns. It’s important to recognize though that when Canada had almost superpower level capabilities at the end of WW2, we essentially relinquished it all. When we briefly had the fastest fighter engine, the US basically asked us to shut it down. Trudeau Sr. turned down having nuclear missile launchers in Canadian soil. When we are committed and focused, we can move fast and effectively. The problem with focusing all our resources on creating a “just society” where everyone gets a trophy for breathing, the social safety is miles thick, and everyone is a victim in need of compensation for some perceived injustice, is that it leaves no room for much else, like self-defence and protection from manipulation by foreign powers. It’s insane that our own government is keeping Canadians in the dark about what information was shared with the Wuhan lab, yet it put Chinese government-supported virologists on the payroll and shared biohazard research with them. What the hell was that about? Trudeau throws billions of tax dollars at trying to fix problems that Canadians living today didn’t cause. The Indian Act was never the government’s business to fix. That’s up to the natives to change and no one is stopping them, yet the cause has sucked all the oxygen away from other causes. We shoot ourselves in the feet on our greatest asset, our natural resources, by burying resource development in regulation and consultation, making it harder to stimulate the very Indigenous communities we want to help. We have to get our priorities straight. Australia realizes the threat of China. It has become a beach-head of western freedom in that part of the world much as Israel is a beach-head in the Middle East. Canada relies too heavily on her neighbour the US for security. Britain has always maintained her independence from mainland Europe. If we want to be taken seriously as an independent country, we must be more self-sufficient and diversify our trade away from the US. We tend to do what’s convenient and cheap. It often seems to make sense to do this, but it’s dangerously complaisant.

  44. A good policy but it is about 500 years too late. The officer who trained me blamed the nations on the east coast for a lax immigration policy. His family has been in Saskatchewan for thousands of years. Did your family assimilate? Should they have been deported after 18 months? Mine certainly should have. My ancestor was in the immigration business. He was part of the original company that imported African slaves into the American colonies.

  45. 1. Not disagreeing - just to point out that there are lots of other things doing well in the west, like Pharma, Software, and - yes - manufacturing companies who offshore a lot of the work like Apple. The difficulty with China and the changing attitude is captured in Harper's comments. The Harper Government signed the FIPA accord. 2. And sophisticated technology in between those examples: iPhones, computer chips, social media software, telecommunications equipment.
