  1. Slightly OT - I notice that the Trump haters who love to act like Biden is "Worldly Joe" have gone completely silent of late. There's no Bubber here, no BFever, BCSapper, dialamah, Argus, Boges, etc to act like Biden is still "THA MAN!". The only person who's chiming in to these Biden-blasting threads now that's not considered right-of-center is a Taliban supporter who's waving the pom-poms for smackin' down bitches who don't wear the hijab. Sad

  2. Don't kid yourself...feds and several provinces in Canada are curtailing liberties, imposing restrictions, limiting commerce and livelihoods, etc. Supporting these restrictions, especially without due process, is not conservatism....it is supporting tyranny.

  3. How's it feel using the word 'Trumptard' now? The whole world actually knows what it looks like to have a POTUS go full retard now, and there's still over 3 years left of the Biden shit-show. Try to enlighten us without plagiarizing from the Wokeist Bible.

  4. "straight, white Christian men???" What a crock of woke, intersectional garbage. I was willing to forgive you for just talking like a fascist while you called other people fascist (although I see you're still doing that." I just might chuckle and say "antifa much?" But now you want to tell us how woke you are. Don't ever pretend to be a Conservative again. Or do it but you'll get called out.

  5. LOL I haven't seen Charles take part in a discussion in years. He's the moderator and apparently feels he shouldn't. On the other hand he doesn't moderate this group or any of the clubs. So it makes sense he should feel free to comment here.

  6. I don't think Joe Biden is personally woke but he is most certainly totally controlled by woke advisors. Biden's lengthy career in politics always revolved around accumulating wealth for him and his family. The US will continue to grow weaker under the Biden/Harris "leadership" and China will fill the void to the detriment of the rest of the world. When Biden speaks, does anyone actually believe he's the leader of the free world?

  7. The Kootenays is beautiful country. I don't go to Starbucks. Mostly younger yuppie types go to Starbucks. Tim's has everything I like and is probably less expensive than Starbucks.

  8. I see 3 more years of total weakness and stupidity from the US. One thing that nobody seems to be mentioning is that they will probably be asked to close their bases in some foreign countries where they were never very popular anyways. Where they're no being asked to leave, they'll probably have no choice but leave anyways because their government is spending money at home like a coked-up rapper. Israel will have a really tough time in the years ahead because America's ability to project power will be weakened. Just remember it's not only the amount of power that America has that's to be feared, it's their likeliness to use it, which has evaporated. The fact that America is whimpering out of Afghanistan, and is admitting that the Taliban are their bosses over there now, tends to diminish America's sense of moral authority as well. The whole shtick used to be "The Talis are evil, and we will hunt them down" and now they are relying on the Talis' sense of decency to allow Americans to get out. The whole 'moral authority' thing doesn't seem like that big of a deal, but it's huge. They used to be able to do some nasty shit and still remain popular, now they can't even threaten or they'll have the Taliban telling them to STFU. Domestically, the cartels will continue to control the border. Kamala Harris has been as effective as a screen door on a submarine. Is America the leader of the free world now, or has that role been passed on to Britain now? This current mess has nothing at all to do with the last 20 years. This current mess has everything to do with brutal mismanagement and a lack of military tactics that would get the leader of a Boy Scouts Troop court-martialled. They didn't even get their planes and copters out? They left behind $83 Billion worth of high-tech weaponry? They gave the Talis the most secure airbase on the planet and opted to carry out their retreat from a wide-open civilian airport. FFS they trained tens of thousands of soldiers and then they left them with an arsenal that puts Canada's military to shame, and they all work for the Talis now or they're unemployed. Hmmmm. The Talis could literally waste Canada with the shit that America left them. They pulled out their military before they got any of their civilians out. DUH!!!!!!!! This has absolutely nothing to do with anything that Bush, Obama or Trump did. Harris and Biden both said that this clusterfuck method of withdrawing civilians and troops was done perfectly. Biden said that he still wouldn't change anything. That means that even his hindsight is grossly incompetent.

  9. I respect your conviction that we should be following science and policies that protect public health. I just question whether persistent restrictions and vaccine passports are going to have the best overall health outcomes when considering non-Covid health problems, mental health, financial losses to businesses and individuals, and a protracted suspension of individual liberties that threatens liberal democracy. Conservativism tends to emphasize individual responsibility over state intervention. I can see why mandatory vaccination has value in certain fields, but when we start talking about mandatory boosters that may be endless, we seem to be taking all health discretion away from people. We don’t all have the same bodies or predispositions. I think that the costs of some of these measures are simply too high, and I don’t just mean financially. What kind of society do we want to live in? If we don’t transition out of restrictions, then what’s the incentive for any of these measures, to live lives of seclusion under heavy bureaucracy and without individual responsibility? It’s a mindless and inhuman ethos. Endless vaccines on top of masks and other restrictions, for what? Our hospitals are quiet. A certain amount of death and illness are part of life. Opening up means living with a certain amount of risk. There will be more cases and deaths as we do so and we have to soldier through it or else the virus has really won. The antibodies have to spread to extinguish or reduce the viral spread, but we’re unlikely to eliminate it. Vaccination, good health, better treatments, and more personal responsibility should be the way forward in my opinion. People will need to be well-informed and extra care must be taken by the vulnerable if vaccination isn’t enough or can’t be given. Masking in schools is continuing even though the risk of death to children is lower than the flu. How long does this continue? How long do restrictions continue? The science isn’t always clear and much of what we choose to do depends on our values.

  10. I knew these socialists of the BC, NDP were going to start acting like socialists sooner or later. It's all about the control now. Good act at normalcy for longer than I thought they could keep it up though. Whatever...so now it begins.

  11. And even if the Ontario stats are credible and trustworthy they aren't anything like evidence the vaccine stops spread. Here's a fun one that's kind of an Abbot and Costello routine on the vaccination: https://blazingcatfur.ca/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/abbot-and-costello-vaccine.jpg This might work if you click it too:

  12. Osama bin Laden BANNED al Qaeda from trying to assassinate Joe Biden because he believed he would be an incompetent president and 'lead the US into a crisis' " Bin Laden made the remark in a 2010 letter that was found in a trove of documents at the Pakistan compound where he was killed by US special forces in 2011. The document was first made public in 2012 but has been brought back to light and given new significance amid the chaotic US withdrawal from Afghanistan that has gifted the country back to the Taliban. He was an evil shit of a man but nobody ever said Bin Laden was stupid.
