  2. I'm a big fan of the old Simulation Canada and SSI computer wargames. But my favorite was Harpoon since I was a Navy nut when I was younger. I was in the RCN cadet from the age of 12 to 16.

  3. Problem is that Canada, and especially Justin Trudeau, has no moral legs to stand on. The world sees that Canada has a long-standing problem with our natives, and Canadian government have allowed that situation to continue. It doesn't help either that Mr. Trudeau is seen as a racist, blackface wearing PM. What to do about China- take care of problems at home, first.

  5. O’Toole is inherently likeable and, unlike Trudeau, has a life story ordinary Canadians can identify with. For me, he comes across as less prim and proper than Scheer which is a good thing. Any Conservative leader has an uphill struggle in Canada. If the party replaces him with a right-wing firebrand, the Liberals will be very pleased.

  6. I agree that it's a failure of imagination but not in the sense of technology that will miraculously solve all our problems. It's in the ability to limit the development and expansion based on what is sustainable. First we see and think that can be done and what not. And then we do. Not the other way around. And that has not yet happened with us, ever. We first expand, then see what happened and what can be fixed. And that worked while we had an unlimited space to expand to. But that is no longer the case. We reached the boundary of our space. Any big screw up now and we have a problem on the planetary scale and can't be certain that it could be rolled backed, cleaned up and we could go back to business as usual.

  7. The insanity breaking out today in America likely has a lot to do with so many Americans getting that subconscious feeling that the dream is over. Back in the 70's when I was getting out of school, along with other boomers, times were bad for getting work..especially good paying jobs, but we all seen it as a temporary problem. I'm not getting that feeling today from anyone, no matter how much hopium they try to spread around!

  9. Too late for that, and Canada gets more excited and organized about boycotting American products like Heinz ketchup than Chinese electronics or a myriad of other goods. And even if you did, Chinese parts are now more integrated into global supply chains and products than anything Canada could fathom to boycott anyway. Frankly, it was easier to get Canadians to hate Trump (and his base) than the Chinese government....very ironic since it was Trump that challenged China while the peanut gallery did mostly nothing but business as usual, including Canada. Economics trumps virtue...as always.
